What is the point of having travel insurance if they don't cover you for anything. Qantas had to change our aircraft so we were bumped from business to economy (which we chose because my husband has a bad back and can't stretch out, last time he was cramped up he ended up having three months of work coz he couldn't walk or sit). So we rang them to see what our options were as Flight Centre (also useless) told us we either had to come up with $13k to fly Hawaiian Airlines or $7k to fly Jetstar). Or the next available flight was 8 days away. Turns out they wouldn't cover us because Qantas changed the aircraft. But if we missed the flight or it gets cancelled we are covered. Should have known better. We went to Fiji and used them spend the entire time inside due to a cyclone and needed to change our flights and we went covered for that either. We spent $1000 on insurance for 'peace of nothing'

CLASS ACTION/FLIGHT CENTREMy 88yr old father became very ill and had to cancel his holidays. He was insured with Cover-More as advised by Flight Centre. Of $20,000 he has only received $1000 refund. It’s now been 6 months. No-one returns his calls from Cover-More and Flight Centre basically says it’s not their problem. I, his son and others are now starting a class action against FC and C-M. Is anyone else having similar problems? Please leave a reply/comment.

I have used cover more for a few trips now. I have needed to claim clothes and toiletries on a trip where my luggage was lost for a few days. They reimbursed the costs.
On a more recent trip I needed to see a doctor due to an upset stomach and was reimbursed for the visit, medication and even the transport (taxi) to get there.
I will keep using cover more for my trips.

I called in to make a claim while in the Emergency department in Vietnam as cover more's emergency number only works if you have international roaming (i had a local sim).
The phone call took 50 minutes 3 different consultants and was verified multiple times and in the end the case manager phone dropped out. Yet they still needed to wait until i returned to australia to cover my minor bill. In the end i paid for it myself as i was sick of being passed to the next consultant and its been almost two weeks and every time i call in i am just told to wait for a call back.
Experience has caused undue stress and really recommend you look elsewhere for travel insurance.

Very, very bad customer service from the claims department. I have spent nearly 5 months trying to resolve a claim as my father fell ill with cancer prior to their trip.
Just today alone I have spent 3 and a half hours back and forth on the phone to not get any where. First excuses were that they cannot reach the Dr Surgery, now that they have not received an invoice. from the surgery. The list and story goes on and on full of excuses and lack of communication.
Sadly even after hours on the phones. the contact center is offshore and there is no way to talk directly with a claims officer and they do not respond to emails. So next to no chance for claims to move forwards.
I would avoid using their travel insurance

The company is a scam. and I would love to take legal action against this sham of a company. For those who like to join me, and help me make sure this this company closes down, I would need more support
from all of you. send me an email then I will contact the law firm with a bunch of complaints in one. In that way, we all get what was taken from us. I have sent all the documents needed for my father's insurance claim and I was told to wait 10 days. It has been 3 weeks and I have not received any update. I called their call center several times, and in all of those calls they dropped every single one of them. I was just asking for an update of the claim status. I got frustrated and called back to ask for a supervisor or a manager or the complaint department to get an answer to my simple question and I was told that I would need to wait for 5 business days to get a supervisor. In the end I never got an answer. They have to go down. email me at takisplace.ovrya at g mail dot com

This company is a rip off! I purchased this policy for a trip for the following year (an entire year away). My husband and I decided we were too old to make the trip, so I sent a letter to Cover-More to cancel the policy we signed up for approximately 30 days prior. They refused to refund the amount of $160.00 but offered to transfer it to another Costco trip. We are unable to travel, and felt that it was not necessary for the insurance. We let them know as soon as we cancelled the trip with Costco. I do not blame Costco for any part of this....they obviously are not aware of the policy these people have done.
I would never purchase insurance from these people, even it I was able to travel again. I suggest you find insurance elsewhere....with a good reputable company.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY ! Denial of claim following illness and major urgent surgery in UK, done on the UK NHS. This surgery was done within my travel insurance dates. Subsequently I was not allowed to fly from UK to Australia for 6 weeks following surgery. I was covered for surgery by the UK NHS however other medical associated expenses during recovery fell outside the original return date. No warning from case manger about this policy. Some companies do cover you until you return home.
NOT COVER-MORE. You never know if you will get sick or have an accident and then, how long it will take you to recover which could put you outside your insured dates.

It took 2 months to receive the approval letter for my recent item loss claim. Covermore has paid me out seven times already in the past six months but dealing with them is terrible.

Shocking experience. Our mother suffered a cardiac arrest in Vietnam whilst on holiday. CoverMore failed to produce a guarantee of payment to the Vietnamese hospital and all out of pocket expenses (which were extensive) were covered by the family. The company failed every step of the way and put undue stress on the patient, the immediate family and the hospital staff trying to care for her. We will be taking this up with the consumer affairs ombudsman for a full claim and would highly recommend all people avoid this insurer.

covermore has certainly gone downhill.
was speaking to 2 differrent sales agents, marvin and
jenny on 2 different occasions to ask for a quote.
both had said they will return my call after checking with medical team for preexisting condition and BOTH NEVER RETURNED MY CALL as promised.
there is obviously a big problem with the company to have such incompetent staff . i will never use or recommend covermore to anyone. BEWARE!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We had a family member fall severely ill overseas and we needed to make a claim. Cover-more were completely incompetent putting up every hurdle possible to delay urgent repatriation. I would not want anyone else to go through what we did to get our family member home. This company is a SCAM they will happily take your money and not provide the service they outline in their PDS. They don’t have case managers and their communication is terrible meaning every time you ring you start from scratch. Appalling.

During my time in Asia, I submitted two claims under my CBA Covermore Complimentary Travel Insurance : one for damage, promptly settled upon submission, and another for loss, which necessitated a receipt. I have furnished the receipt as requested and have been informed that my claim is currently under review. I am confident that the review process will align with the outcome of the first claim.
*** UPDATE ** my loss claim has been approved.
Many thanks

While I was in Thailand a few months back I ended up in hospital needing surgery for a ruptured appendix.
Hideous experience!
After surgery I ended up with complications and a 9 day stay in hospital, including several days in ICU.
Covermore could not have been more helpful. Their phone staff are so understanding and compassionate.
I was alone so they flew my son over from NZ.
All hospital bills were paid before I left the hospital. And when the doctors cleared me to fly Covermore flew myself and my son home business class.
And on top of all that, six years ago I had a made another claim of
$11, 000.
The money was in my bank account 10 days after I made the claim.
And again the telephone staff were amazing, calling me everyday while I was away to make sure I was okay.
I cannot rate this company highly enough.
Thankyou Covermore!

I will start by saying, this review can be backed up by invoices, correspondence and any other supporting documentation requested by trustpilot to support the validty of what I'm about to describe.
Covermore - you are sophisticated thieves without morals and respect for ethical conduct.
I am the sole carer of an frail, elderly female family member who has undergone major cancer surgery in the past (all declared when the policy was taken out and paid for).
The person is travelling alone to see siblings in the Middle east (Lebanon).
Due to the deteriorating security condition between the Israel and Palestine conflict, I attempted to contact Covermore emergency hotline to organise for an immediate return ticket in the case the situation escalated even further, and potentially stranding the return.
I went on to further explain that the traveller was due for surgery a week after returning home, and that it would be wise to organise an immediate ticket alteration for the earliest return date. Not doing so may leave her undergoing the surgery in a foreign country, with poor care being provided.
After being put on hold by Covermore, I received the response of "we do not cover situations where WAR is involved". I replied by confirming there was no war between Israel and lebanon. The war is between Palestine and Israel, and according to the advice issued by the Australian government, residents in Lebanon should immediately return home due to deteriorating security condition.
That did not get through to the Covermore teleconsultant, and I threatened to take the matter with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). The consultant replied along the lines of "sure, you may do so". Wow, in all the decades I've been dealing with various institutions, this is the first time I sensed a "vigilante" tactic to fobbing off a plea for help.
I'v raised the matter with AFCA and aim to see this to the bitter end.
You have been warned. Covermore are nothing but cash collectors.
Trustpilot is welcome to follow up on this post and request supporting documentation.

This doesn’t even deserve one star, pathetic excuse of a company. If you would prefer to throw your hard earned money down the drain go for it when purchasing this fraud of an “insurance”. The irony is they call themselves “cover more” when in fact they don’t cover ANYTHING!!! They don’t get back to you when sending emails, when on the phone they find any way possible not to cover you for things that you were told they would cover, they are SCAMMERS!! They do not provide any assistance but they’ll happily tell you lies when purchasing from them. I paid a premium for top coverage and they did absolutely NOTHING!!!!! Extremely expensive policy that didn’t do anything for me and was a waste of money. I will be sure to tell everyone to NEVER EVER EVER buy from this mob owned insurance company!!!!!
