My recent Silk Road tour through Uzbekistan was absolutely fabulous, for many reasons. Alam, our Uzbek guide, was truly superb - extremely knowledgeable and impressive, alongside being very courteous, kind and helpful to each member of our group throughout the trip. The meals were great…varied, interesting, some rather unusual and often in superb locations, such as on rooftops of restaurants with incredible views, such as in Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand. I loved every minute of the trip, even though the temperatures reached 35 degrees on some days and there were some long days travelling though the desert!
Thank you for a really wonderful, memorable trip and I would highly recommend Cox and Kings travel company, whom I booked the trip through.
I am now enthralled by the Silk Road history, spirituality, culture, art and geography and am enjoying the fascinating literature on the subject, such as Peter Frankopans recent book, The Silk Roads -A New History of the World.

Brilliant holiday to South America. I would recommend this to anybody wishing to dip their toe into this fascinating region.

A well organised if rather full on trip around the whole island of Taiwan. Lots of local colour, friendly people and good food. Varied sightseeing, including atmospheric temples, beautiful lakes ,forests and stunning mountain scenery. Good value for money, though long flights (direct) and I would recommend upgrading seats if possible. We travelled round on a comfortable, spacious coach, with regular stops. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Taiwan is a very clean country with many modern features. Reasonable value and well worth a trip.

I am known to be somewhat of a needy and difficult - I tend to point out what is wrong But fantastically there was simply nothing to complain about regarding my recent tour to Uzbekistan. It was marvellous! This was the best tour I have had in years, and I go on long-distance tours every few months. The program was wonderfully planned, the tour manager - an art historian by the name of Diana Driscoll, never stopped feeding us amazing information. I learnt so much. Our local guide, Babur, was superb. The small size of the group made a big difference - it gave us a chance to concentrate on the history and the art, not on endless toilet breaks, which is usually what you get with larger groups.
The hotels were chosen brilliantly. They were all in central locations of the places that we stayed in, comfortable, and with good breakfasts. But the most important thing was the country itself - it's astounding!

Tour was great, guides on whole were excellent. Udaipur: we felt we should have done palace tour first rather than boat trip as palace tour was extremely busy ( too much so); Deogarh was lovely and nice to have quieter town to walk through & added bonus to have tea with BB; Jodhpur.. excellent ; Bikaner - guide was pushy , also took us on a “sunset high tea”. We left a fantastic hotel to watch the sunset from a sand dune, & then were given chicken nuggets and chips. We weren’t able to use the hotel facilities/ pool or enjoy the restaurant due to timings. Very disappointing ! Guide at Agra was brilliant.. good English & informative. Had a great trip, although exhausting and we needed a few more rest afternoons 😀

Just back from a busy trip across South America incorporating Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Peru.
What a fantastic trip and a rollercoaster view of the top sights in South America.
A number of early morning starts and lots of flights involved but very strong guides to look after us.
Sandra In Buenos Aires was exceptional as was Laticia and helped to make it a memorable holiday. The hotels were generally of a very high standard
We loved the holiday and Mari on the booking side could not have been more helpful.

Just back from a Cox and Kings Holiday -“Japan’s Cultural Treasures”. A varied and enjoyable trip. Well planned and attention to detail ++.
A delightful and knowledgeable guide who steered us round railway stations and got us on and off bullet trains etc. Strong winds delayed one of our railway journeys which meant we missed out on the scheduled tea ceremony. The company were very generous to compensate us with a group dinner.
Have already recommended this trip to friends.

Very responsive to my enquiry and adapted the itinerary to meet our requirements (minimising internal flights, backtracking on the route and hotel choices).

Fantastic tailor made holiday, everything went perfectly and we had the most wonderful time.

I have used C & K in the past and have always been happy, so had no hesitation with booking a group tour. Once again their team was friendly and professional and the paperwork/itinerary that followed was as expected.

I did this as a private tour and everything went to plan. The scenery as you travel from Amritsar to Shimla is stunning. Highlights were the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the border ceremony; the Tibetan Settlement; the festival at the Tashijong Monastery and as ever in India, the friendliness of the people.
I was glad that I upgraded to the Oberoi Wildflower hall in Shimla where I especially enjoyed the hotel's nature walk through the forest and the history talk.

I was incredibly fortunate in having Sher work with me to plan our recent trip to Egypt. From beginning to end he went out of his way to make sure we had a memorable holiday and when issues arose he dealt with them swiftly and efficiently, always keeping me updated. There was no anxiety in having to chase an agent for a response, he was always on it.
Our boat, the Nile Sanctuary, was fantastic, with delicious food and staff who went out of their way to make sure all our needs were catered for.
We had an excellent guide in Amr and the Cox & Kings agents on the ground were very efficient. Everything was meticulously planned and it was so reassuring to have them on hand, especially when trying to navigate the challenges of travelling with EgyptAir which required some last minute changes to our schedule. However, we ended up with a better itinerary and that is all thanks to Sher's considerable efforts. He will be my first point of contact when planning any future trips!

My husband and I booked a private tour for two weeks based on the group tour , with some alterations.
No problem arranging the trip.
A problem arose when we flew to Oaxaca in the morning where we had arranged for a walking tour in the afternoon. There was no information at the hotel what time this would take place. The phone number for the local agent was invalid,so we contacted the National call number we had been given who were very efficient. However , it seemed nothing had been arranged and we had to wait for two hours for an emergency guide. Likewise for the tour to Monte Alban the following morning nothing seemed to be arranged . So again we contacted the National number and many , many, many texts and phone calls later established
the next days tour.
The rest of the tour went as planned and all guides were good as was accomodation.

Good choice of luxury experiences and most (if not all) can be customised. We chose to upgrade flights and accommodation but the rest is organised for us by Cox & Kings.

Its great to speak to someone who can answer your questions without reference. Professional company

Very helpful on the phone. Everything made clear and simple.

Our guide Kavi was fantastic, and so knowledgeable. The driver was quite amazing as we were in a small van on very narrow windy roads which often had hairpin turns. He made us all feel safe. We loved the visits to different relgious centers: Sikhism, Tibetan Buddhism and Hindu.

The highlights of our holiday:
* Pre-holiday support with visas - really helpful.
* Prem, our tour guide, was BRILLIANT! I cannot speak highly enough of him - his ability to manage the group, his humour, his knowledge and his patience were all excellent.
* Transfers, trains, bus, drivers, local guides and flights were very good indeed.
* The Meridien, The Clark's Shiraz, The Taj Chandigargh were excellent hotels.
* Visiting Gandhi's cremation site was humbling and moving.
* Obviously, the visits to The Taj and The Baby Taj, The Red Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Chand Baori Stepwell, Jakhu Temple and Viceregal Lodge were all excellent.
* Ramgarh Lodge was truly one of the highlights. Staying here was just fabulous.
* The Toy Train journey was superb, and the scenery spectacular.
* The additional day's activities on 03.03.25 were most welcome and really well-planned.

So, in all, an absolutely brilliant holiday! Many thanks to all the Cox & Kings team.

This was both my first solo trip and visit to India, on all levels the trip exceeded expectation. The tour was amazing and although busy, with some longer travel days it was absolutely worth it to experience the chaos and colour of India.
Our guide was excellent. He was both knowledgeable about the many sites we visited as well as ensuring all in the group were well looked after throughout. There was one hiccup along the way as the hotel in Jaipur was somewhat below par. Our guide dealt with this very well as did the Abercrombie and Kent representative who was on site with a short time to deal with the groups concerns.
I would have no hesitation in booking with Cox and King in the future and in travelling solo once again.

Our group tour with Cox & Kings was interesting and gave us the opportunity to see many different places across Mexico. The other travellers were good company and our guide was both knowledgeable and entertaining.
