Andras was very easy to talk with and eager to meet any expectations. He gave up several hours to make sure that my test drive was thorough. He clearly loves working for the company and speaks highly of the staff and vehicles. Thanks for your help. Stuart

Excellent service from Andras at Cherry Kendal from start to finish. Andras took the time to explain everything without any pressure. Andras arranged a test drive for the very next day. Throughout the whole process Andras has kept me updated and has made the whole process completely stress free. I would highly recommend Andras at Cherry Kendal to anyone thinking of buying a car.

Spoke to Nick on the phone, very helpful and I’ll be back in touch soon.
Staff were very friendly.
Staff were very friendly, courteous, patient and understanding. The friendliness and working together of all staff makes a very pleasant atmosphere in the showroom. Nothing was too much trouble as they made every effort to find us exactly what we wanted.

I enquired about a CRV online @ Kendal within a day a lovely lady called Csilla had given me a ring to see about a test drive what a lovely drive it was, after which we decided what the car for us after the great service we received!
You have a true asset in Jo
We met Jo and Xander (apologies if I have mis-spelt his name), having been sent a video the day before so that we would recognise Jo upon arrival. A nice touch I thought.
Jo was very knowledgeable and went through our options with us clearly, all the time demonstrating admirable patience for my numerous and obscure questions.
We were treated with respect and politeness throughout the appointment and we felt positive that we were in good hands.
Having been made to feel confident that Jo was dedicated to providing us with the best service and deal possible, we left to consider our options. We particularly liked the fact that Jo did not in anyway make us feel pressurised into making a decision.
Ryan Garside
We dealt with Ryan Garside when we bought our new Prelude. We always found Ryan to be very helpful, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with.
Very poor service from Lancaster VW
I purchased a new VW T Roc from Lancaster VW, Morecambe on 30 April 2026. I had to take out finance to obtain the discount. I was told I could repay the loan without penalty.
I agreed to collect the car on Thursday 30 April at 3pm. This involved a long drive of 130 miles from my home in Northumberland. On 29th I received a phone call from Lancaster VW about the handover procedure. I was told “your car includes the service plan” which was a surprise, but good news for me. They asked if I had received the finance documents from VW Financial Services, and I explained that I had received nothing.
On Thursday morning, I received numerous finance documents which I had to sign on-line. I didn’t have time to read the documents. On the invoice there was a discrepancy of £500. I phoned the garage. After a 1 hour delay I was told this could be sorted out when I arrived.
Therefore, I set off late on the long drive to Morecambe. I was given the wrong postcode. I arrived at the destination at 3pm, but unfortunately, it was not Lancaster VW. A lady in a nearby petrol station gave me the correct postcode and she also warned me that there were road works on Mellishaw Lane so I would have difficulty getting access to Lancaster VW. I was then taken on a long detour. When I reached the other end it was also blocked, but I persuaded the workers to let me through.
I arrived at 3.30pm, feeling very stressed. I received no apology from any of the VW staff. The drive from Northumberland had been OK but the last half an hour was horrendous.
I was told the discrepancy of £500 on the invoice was because of the service plan. The previous day, I had been told “your car includes the service plan”. I wasn’t expecting to pay for it, but I had no alternative but to accept this, because the documents and finance were now complete. They also told me that the finance would be for £5,000 more than I expected. They said I would be refunded the £5,000 in a few days. I was very surprised by this news. It seemed very dubious.
They showed me the new car and I was happy with it. I was expecting to drive away at 4pm but I was told there was a problem with my finance documents and the forms had to be all completed again. They had put my incorrect name on the forms. They all said “Mike” instead of "Michael”. I have purchased many new cars, and no-one has ever used my nickname on the documents. I was then left sitting on my own in the showroom.
I waited a long time and no-one came to apologise for the delay or explain what was going on. Eventually, I told them that I was extremely unhappy with the service I had received.
Approx 5.30pm, I was told that I could go now. No apology for the delay. I told him that I shouldn’t have been asked to drive all the way from Northumberland, if the finance hadn’t been finalised. Also they should have given me the correct postcode and warned me about the road works. It would have been better for me to collect the car the following week when the finance was finalised and the road works were finished.
I arrived home at approx 8.30pm. I had something to eat at 9pm, and this was the first thing I had since 11.30am apart from one cup of tea. Buying a new car is supposed to be a pleasant experience, but this was the worst experience I have ever had buying a new car.
The next day 1st May I checked the finance figures. The loan was £5,500 more than I was expecting, not £5000. I waited for 5 days for a reply. On 6 May they agreed I was right. I had spent 6 days worrying about this discrepancy.
I asked to speak to the branch manager. I offered to send him my complaint statement by email, but he insisted that I explain it all verbally over the phone which was like re-living the ordeal again.
He said he was sorry but it didn’t sound sincere. He tried to make it look like it was as much my fault as theirs. He even accused me of extortion! I found this deeply offensive. I am a 74 year old pensioner and I could do without the hassle.
He said “We can’t give you a free service plan, but I could give you a hamper”. I told him that I didn’t want a hamper and in any event, that in no way made up for the bad experience I had suffered.
This is my second VW T Roc. They are excellent cars, but Lancaster VW has handled this matter very badly and they need to acknowledge that. I shouldn’t have been asked to drive all the way from Northumberland if the finance hadn’t been finalised. I was mis-sold the finance. The loan should have been £12,444 but was £5,500 more than that. I have now paid off the finance that was imposed on me.
On 8 May I emailed my statement to the branch manager. When I had received no reply, I then emailed the Customer Services Dept. of Cox Motor Group who own Lancaster VW. I am still awaiting a reply.
Super customer service at Lancaster Honda…
We are delighted to have bought a Honda CRV plug-in. We did our research beforehand, booked a test drive, but we’re not yet committed to purchase. However, Matt at Lancaster Honda was very engaging, informative & not at all pushy. We were able to agree a deal pretty easily & Matt supported us through the purchase & financing process over a couple of days and we look forward to our first new vehicle in over 13 years.
VW Customer Care
The customer service at VW as always, was both professional and genuine. Transaction was painless, hassle free and straightforward. Wouldn't expect anything else....

I purchased a used Honda CRV from Nick at Southport, excellent communication throughout the process, good price for the vehicle, would definitely recommend Nick and the team at Southport.
Fantastic Car, Fantastic salesman
The outstanding thing at Kendal Chery, has to be the salesman Andras Moricz, a very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly young man who tried his best to sell me a car and it was unfortunately not his fault I didn't buy one, it was the fact I would have had to wait 3 months to get a new car. Andras took me for a test drive in the Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV and demonstrated his knowledge of the car on a very pleasant test drive, he was not pushy which a lot of sales people are, and if they had got a car then he would have been one of the reasons I would have bought from them.
Thank you Andras for helping me buy a new car, just unfortunately not from you
Everything was simple.Everything was…
Everything was simple.Everything was explained and clear. A smooth efficient experience of buying a car. Would happily recommend them to anybody.
If you have a gut feeling about walking away…
If you have a gut feeling about walking away from a Dealer, then go with your gut 😀
I wish I went with my gut feeling and walked away from
Southport Chery (Cox Motor Group) and the Chery car brand.
From being told I was wasting the Salesman's time, to receiving a car not fit for purpose, it has ruined my experience, and I am paying for it now 😩
Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV
- Steering is veering to the left (was in Dealer and Wheels Aligned, but no fix as it was the same when I drove out of the Dealer).
- Sunroof has a rattling noise all round it when closed (Dealer said they needed 3 days to diagnose this fault).
- Drivers Seat moves when accelerating, braking and turning.
- Knocking noise in boot compartment (Dealer tightened locking mechanism, but it has just made it worse, as it clunks very loudly when opening and closing the boot).
- Paintwork chipped on a rear door handle (said they would replace the handle).
- Alloys are already getting marks on them that cannot be removed.
- Noise coming from the from the front wheels, that sounds like a bird is in there.
- The Supagard that was applied on the inside looks like a 2 year old slapped it on.
I rejected the car after 29 days, but the Dealer said they would replace it for me, as a 'gesture of goodwill'. They said they would need £500 extra for the newer car. I stupidly agreed to do this (but not the extra £500, as I know they made at least £3000 on my Part Exchange when they sold it).
This was in March.
Still to this day, I have not been offered another car.
I have now been advised that I can still exercise my rights to Reject the car, which I told the Dealer I would be doing but
Southport Chery are saying they do not accept the rejection.
I am also going through the Finance Company's complaints procedure.
I really did not need all this stress, and should have been enjoying a new car.
TRUST YOUR GUT😀— feeling stressed at Southport Chery.

The experience of buying a used car from Kendal automart (Honda) was an easy process from initial viewing and test drive to collection. Sales consultant Elliot Cook was friendly and helpfull throughout, explaining everything. All staff i had contact with in branch were pleasant and welcoming. I wouldnt hesitate to use Kendal automart again.
