I have genuinely never had such mixed feelings about a piece of furniture in my life. My Cozey Atmosphere sectional is one of the most beautiful, luxurious, comfortable couches I’ve ever owned. Once it is fully assembled and styled? It completely transforms the room. It feels high-end, looks elevated, and the comfort level is honestly incredible. But getting to that point was one of the most physically exhausting and frustrating furniture experiences I’ve ever had — especially for a sofa that cost well over $2,000. Let’s start with delivery. The FedEx portion itself was fairly smooth, but what is absolutely insane to me is that Cozey does not offer white glove delivery service. For a purchase at this price point, there should be a bare minimum option where the furniture is brought into your unit. Instead, I was left hauling THIRTEEN massive boxes from the first floor of my apartment building to the eighth floor myself. That meant eight elevator trips back and forth carrying giant boxes through hallways and elevators. Thankfully the boxes weren’t individually super heavy, but they were HUGE. By the end of it, I was already exhausted before even beginning assembly. And that’s where the real nightmare started. The assembly instructions are not detailed enough whatsoever. What Cozey markets as a “simple modular setup” turned into a literal 48-hour project involving multiple friends helping me over two full days. The absolute worst part of this entire experience was the cushion covers. Cozey advertises the covers like they’re easy to swap on and off. That is completely misleading in my opinion. The covers are SO unbelievably snug that my best friend and I genuinely thought they had shipped the wrong sizes. At one point I was fully prepared to contact the CEO because there was no way those covers logically should’ve fit. It took an extreme amount of patience, strength, pulling, adjusting, sweating, and tag-teaming just to get the covers over each module. I broke TWO nails during this process. And after finally getting them on? I can confidently say I will NEVER be changing these covers again. Ever. No couch at this price point should require that level of labor just to put basic cushion covers on. Then came the modular connectors. The side brackets were mostly manageable, but the black footing brackets underneath the couch sections nearly made me lose my mind. They are ridiculously difficult to align. You have to partially lift the sectional, force the pieces together, then move to the opposite side to try aligning everything again while fighting gravity and the weight of the couch. It took HOURS. And to be completely honest: this is not a one- or two-person assembly job despite how it’s marketed. My six-seater realistically required multiple people to assemble comfortably. What’s even more frustrating is that now my rug placement and overall layout are not exactly where I want them because I am TERRIFIED of having to lift and reconnect the sectional pieces again. The thought alone exhausts me. So here’s my honest conclusion: The finished product is stunning. Luxurious. Comfortable. Genuinely gorgeous. But the process to get there was so unnecessarily difficult that it completely changed the experience for me. For the amount of money this couch costs, customers deserve: * White glove delivery options * Better instructions * Easier cushion installation * Better engineered modular connectors * Realistic assembly expectations I truly believe Cozey has an amazing product design-wise, but the customer experience and assembly process need serious improvement. Buy at your own risk — because while you may end up obsessed with the final look like I am… you may also end up emotionally, physically, and spiritually exhausted getting there.
