Ordered coal 2 weeks ago
Ordered coal 2 weeks ago, after calling and calling they say they cannot give me any time they might deliver. Having been told that delivery times can change but looking at 4 weeks currently due to no ability to plan.
Previously they have scheduled an order just as their office closes and then have to frantically call to cancel in the morning....no doubt when the wagon has been loaded.... Then no clue when they might come again.
Previously all delivery drivers have been lovely but there is no planning with deliveries - definitely needs more organisation.

I have placed an order for nearly £400 of coal. The website clearly says "Up to 7 working days, but these can increase during busy periods. We will do our best to keep you updated with texts/emails informing you of your delivery progress.".
No communication regarding delivery, when I phoned to find out when delivery will be I'm told the website is wrong and the statement is generic. I might get delivery by end of next week. So its 10 days NOT 7 days delivery. When I said the website should be updated to reflect realistic delivery times the lady said it might change back when things get quieter???? I am not happy with the service or lack of communication.
Their price has gone up and the seves…
Their price has gone up and the seves has gone downhill put my order in 22-september and payed for it despite my phone call to them I am still waiting their local dealer is about three miles from were I am it may as well be in Hong Kong.

Ordered coal over three weeks ago when chased they just said "it has not been scheduled for delivery yet" when asked when they said dont know.
Checked account today to find they have cancelled the order. NO REFUND YET!
Terrible firm to deal with.
Rubbish quality anthracite
Local delivery guys is fine, but communications and service from the company is terrible. Ordered 3 bags of anthracite coal and what came was wet coal inside the bag, covered in ash and small nuggets. When it was burnt I was left with so much residue and waste I sent back the other two bags - awful quality and would never use again. Will stick to my local merchant and use ovoids.
CPL Devon
Thankyou CPL excellent service as always Chris the delivery man came on time cheerful very polite and very efficient. 2 ton of coal delivered with a smile.

One of their delivery vans nearly took us out this morning at about 10.15 on the A10 towards Buntingford where two lanes go into one lane . Hope they caught it on the camera their vans have the idiot could have killed us.
The worst delivery
After the order they don't say how long it will take, they just notify the day before. Most of my deliveries have taken 2 or 3 weeks of hearing nothing.
They only seem to schedule the delivery after you call to complain.
Have had 6 deliveries, and today is about to be the second time I've waited in all day for them not turn up.
They don't value customers enough to even give an approximate time. Tried ringing them today but office closed on Saturdays.
Nice helpful driver
First time ordering. Delivery came in good time, with a very nice driver who dragged the bags on trolley down my thick gravel drive even though I was happy for him to drop the bags off at the top of the drive.
Coal is coal so I can’t say to much other than the pricing is reasonable for a 25kg bag.
Good company to deal with.
Good company to deal with.
Make sure your delivery has good access if ordering palletised goods.
Customer service staff faultless and respond immediately.
Thanks
Brilliant service
Thank you so much to Gary the driver from CPL Distribution who delivered our bags of coal very early this morning whilst we were still sleeping he never made a sound and neatly stacked all 50 bags on the drive. We will definitely use them again. Thank you.
Much improved service thank you
After being disappointed with late deliveries CPL have upped their game. Last delivery was the quickest ever and coal put where I wanted.
Thank you.
TOP SERVICE HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I ordered 22 bags of coal on a Friday and then after paying , I looked up reviews and was quite concerned from what I had read. I called CPL on the Monday and was told that a while back when there was fuel shortages and a problem with drivers they had, had some problems and they assured me everything would be fine and that I would receive my coal within 7 days. I got an email on the Wednesday to say my delivery was coming the following day and a time slot. The driver called Henry turned up and asked where my coal was going to go. I told him not to worry as I had to wheel barrow it all over to my woods and put under a pig ark. He said to me where about and then proceeded to load the bags onto a trolley and he put all 22 bags in the woods in the pig ark for me. I offered to get involved and use the wheel barrow and he said no it was fine he would do it for me. I was so pleased as I was dreading lugging the bags probably at least 10 journeys worth with a wheel barrow. I wished I had some cash on me as I really wanted to tipp him for his help. He was really lovely and helpful. The product is really great to, much better than the cheap 4 quid stuff I bought from B and M which was wet and I couldn't get to bur. This was the premium coal for log burners. It burns beautifully and burns for a long while to so nice and cosy. I really cant complain about this company , sadly I think maybe some others just got caught up in the countries issues with fuel shortages which may have led to their delays. I highly recommend them especially if you get Henry to deliver for you.
House Fuel Inferno briquettes
I have always used this merchant for solid fuel out of loyalty. I normally buy Homefire Ovals which I find excellent for quality/price. The local depot drivers are very good and tip the fuel into my bunker. All very good. However I was telephoned a while ago asking if I would like some unspecified clearance smokeless fuel at roughly half the price of Homefire Ovals. The experience was less good. The fuel arrived in 25kg bags on a pallet. It took me the best part of a hour to get it into the coal bunker. The fuel supplied was House Fuel Inferno. It consists of two types of small briquette, though a lot were broken. Compared with Homefire it requires a lot of it to get decent heat from the stove and leaves a lot of ash. I do presume it is a smokeless fuel as an internet search suggests it might not be. Anyway lesson learnt, if a firm is trying to offload something cheap there is probably a reason. I just wished CPL had been more open about the product they were offering and then I would not have bothered to buy it.
TERRIBLE!!!!
TERRIBLE!!!!
So, They took my order, then they took my money. I then called and added more coal, and gave them more money..
NOW, they say they can't fullfill my order!!!!!
AND, I got to wait 10 goddam days to get my money back.. They didn't even tell me they couldnt fill the order, I had to call them!!!!
Delivery to pavement only.
Their website says: "Bagged product up to 25kg in weight is hand delivered direct to your coal bunker or log store by our own drivers. Whilst the horse and cart may have gone we still deliver these bags in the traditional way. A CPL delivery driver hoists the bag onto his back and carries it down your garden path to where you want it. Our delivery drivers are the best in the business, doing a physically demanding job in all weathers. They are all extremely helpful, so providing you don't ask them to tackle an "assault course" of obstacles across your property they will deliver the bags to pretty much wherever you ask them to. "
In actual fact the driver won't take the coal beyond the garden gate and just heaps the bags on the pavement.
I specifically ordered from this company because I did not want a pallet load just left on the pavement.
I was unable to move the coal myself and had to get a neighbour to help. Not impressed
If only 0 stars was possible!
If only 0 stars was possible!! Do not purchase of this company. Quick to take your money and will leave you weeks without your order of coal in the middle of winter and not give a care in the world. Shocking customer service from head office too.
Be v careful when entering your address!
I ordered coal for our open fire.
All went well until delivery time, when the driver (helpful and friendly chap) found that he only had a postcode to deliver to, so had to phone me for more info.
I afterwards went back to check my account details, to find that the street address was indeed missing and so had to be added. Odd, when you consider that most websites will not let you save an incomplete address, and I usually manage the simple task without screwing it up!
Also a bit irksome to have given detailed delivery instructions only to find that these had not made it onto the order.
