Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the quality of products, frequently reporting issues with items breaking down quickly, leaking oil, or arriving with defects. Customers also found the warranty process frustrating, citing difficulties in getting replacements, needing receipts for lifetime warranties, and encountering lengthy, unhelpful procedures. Some people were dissatisfied with the customer service, describing it as poor, unresponsive, and difficult to contact. However, a few other people also felt that the company honored replacement warranties without issues and provided parts for repairs even out of warranty.

Id give negative stars if that were a option. This company has turned into a total joke. Tools aren't warranted, cheap junk replacement if they even have it and the customer service is horrible. Jus... See more

Faulty mowers/terrible customer service

I bought a basic push mower from Lowe’s, a craftsman push mower, it hasn’t even been used 30 minutes and oil is leaking into the filter and it will not crank. Craftsman representatives could care less. They want me to take an hour away from where I live to get it worked on. A brand new push mower that is already not working. I am not taking it an hour away to get fixed. I highly recommend everyone who is experiencing this kind of thing to file a complaint with their local department of justice and their Better Business Bureau. I sure am.

Craftsman tools now have a 30 day…

Craftsman tools now have a 30 day return policy. And, that's about how long they last. This used to be the gold standard for their willingness to stand behind their products. I've purchased my last craftsman product. Very unsatisfied with customer service

Craftsman does not honor their…

Craftsman does not honor their warranties...I called craftsman warranty department because I have a weed eater, battery powered orbit sander , and an electric belt sander that all quit working. First of all there are a handful of automated questions to answer and then when i was ready to talk to someone I had to listen to their elevator music for 22 minutes before someone finally answered.I was told to take pictures of the receipts and email them back, which I did. Then there was another 10-15 minutes of questions before I was told i would get an email within 48 hours...Well 50 hours had gone by so I called back with the authorization # they gave me when I called the first time. So now on the second call another 26 minutes until someone answers only to tell me now I need to email pictures of all 3 items to support, which I did. Then after 15 more minutes of questions I am asked to email a video of each piece not working (are you fricking serious right now, why didn't you tell me to do that in the first place), which I do email a video of each item not working, but to do that I had to hang up...24 hours after the second call still no email regarding my warranties..So in a nutshell I spent 3 days and a total of over 2 hours on the phone with Craftsman Warranty Department and they still have not warrented the first piece...Never again will I buy a Craftsman product..I had a battery powered Kobalt planer that quit working and when I called the Kobalt Warranty Department about it I was issued a number to take to Lowes to pick up my New Kobalt Planer and spent a total of 14 minutes on the phone with them...KOBALT IS DEFINITELY A MUCH BETTER OPTION THAN CRAFTSMAN

CRAPman tools suck!

I was gifted a weed whacker/blower as a housewarming gift. I charged it and it worked fine. When the battery died and i went back to recharge it, it would not recharge. I took the battery and charger back to Lowes where it had been purchased by my brother-in-law to see if they could diagnose the issue. The associate said the charger was broken. When i tried to contact Craftsman directly through their website, you needed all kinds of information which i could not provide in order for someone from Craftsman to contact you back. This was a gift so I didn't have a receipt and my brother-in-law passed away weeks before so I could not locate it. I had to buy a brand new charger for 100 dolloars to replace the brand new broken one which came with the product. There was no phone for Craftsman and when i found one through much research, no one answered the phone after a 14 point phone tree. Totally unacceptable. I am returning the entire product to Lowes and NEVER buying another Craftsman product again! I can't believe Lowes would carry this brand.

Cmcmwsp220 Brand new lowes lawn mower

Cmcmwsp220
Brand new lawn mower out the box. For context, this is the 3rd lawn mower I get in a 1 year period. This lawn mower is junk and keeps breaking. Customer service takes forever to handle claim and you must wait 2 weeks for a replacement. I will never use this brand again

V20 CMCMW220 Push Mower is dead

I have a V20 CMCMW220 push mower that has died and am getting zero help from Craftsman on the purchase of the part I need. I can't get warranty help because I tried to repair it myself before I contacted them. I have replaced every part that it could be except for the control board, due to the fact that Craftsman says that it is not available for purchased. Craftsman is still having this mower built/assembled and still selling it at the big box home stores, so this part is still available to them, but it is not available for a customer that has purchased it and is now dead. I just need a simple part, that's all that I am aasking of Craftsman.

Push mower

Purchased a new mower 6 weeks ago model 22A-A2C2093. It worked three times. Craftsman does not accept returns of fuel has been added, but not to worry, I can take it 45 minutes away and have it repaired. It’ll only take two months. Horrible customer service and a horrible product.

Purchased a Craftsman Chainsaw at LOWE'S on 5/29/2025. Saw is defective (won't stay running). Attempted to return it to LOWE"S on 6/8/25 and told we cannot help and to call Craftsmen to get a RA, (return authorization number). Called Craftsman today, 6/9/25 (owned by Stanley, Black & Decker) and was told no R.A would be given me and to take the saw to a repair shop!!!!!! How nice. Now I am stuck with a piece of non function expensive equipment and now have to spend more $$$$ to buy another chainsaw from a REPUTABLE seller.

I bought a leaf blower 12 months ago…

I bought a leaf blower 12 months ago and it died on me after about 10 uses. I tried to initiate a warranty claim online and was directed to setup an online account, upload receipt, and all of the model/serial information online. I followed all of these steps and received a claim number. I also received an email from a department that was supposed to contact me. A month went by with no contact from the department and no response to my multiple emails to follow up. Online chat also couldn't help because "that product is with another department". I called craftsmen and, even though I offered my claim number or online account info, was required to provide all of my personal and product information a second time. All of this to learn that none of what I'd done mattered. There is no online/phone warranty process. I have to drive it to a local repair shop and have them confirm there's a manufacturer defect (with the possibility that it won't be approved). I've wasted at least 2 hours and waited over a month and I'm only just now making progress- I guess I am, who really knows? Regardless of how the warranty issue turns out I'll never buy Craftsman again.

I attempted to use their web site to…

I attempted to use their web site to buy a pole saw attachment for a weed eater. The web site was useless and directed me to an instant messager help, they were useless and directed me to email, which after several emails directed me to call an actual person YES!!!. Only 1 hour of my time spent at this point. While talking to the real person they did not know what a pole saw attachment was and could not spell it asking me to spell it for them. They still did not know what it was and placed me on hold. More of my time waisted. When they came back they stated that they had one and could send it to me, but the price was the oddest amount i had ever heard of. At this point I was not sure I was actually talking to a real section of craftsman, the guy I was talking to, sounded as if he was in a call center in India. Yes the same people who call you nonstop with phone scams. And since they did not know how to spell pole saw I was at my end. I asked for the model number that was compatible with my weed eater and told them inwould buy it myself at a local store. They gave me a modle # that can't be found on their web site and is not found anywhere. What kind of company does not have a sales department with a person to talk to who actually knows the products? And for everyone i was on the official web site. I am not going to use this company again for any products.

Craftsman lifetime warranty.

I received a 334 piece tool set more than 5 years ago as a gift, tools break over time, and i had a couple sockets that the chrome was chipping, so i contact customer support four times. Each time support said good luck and didnt respond back. I have almost nothing but craftsman tools. If craftsman isnt going to stand behind their warranty i will not purchase anymore tools, and throw everything i have from craftsman away. Its easy to warranty from other companies but not craftsman. I am looking at another tool set if they want to stand behind their warranty.
