Matthew Wickham has been excellent from the start, he visited us at silver Darlings fish Company a couple of months ago when he came in to discuss us changing our card machine. Great customer service... See more

I’ve owned a card machine for many…
I’ve owned a card machine for many years now and to keep my bank charges really low I’ve always set the machine to bank once a week instead of every day. I had Clem from Create pay call me and I sent him a statement from my existing supplier and we worked it out that Create Pay were slightly cheaper and the way I operate would stay the same, nothing will change so I went ahead. Once the machine arrived and was checked it was just over 2 weeks until I started to do transactions which was great as I had to give a months notice on my previous supplier. Transactions were going through well for the first day but then late morning on the second day they were automatically paid into the bank. I contacted Clem about this who now decided he was going to start telling me how it is and said he’s never heard of someone banking only once a week that’s why it’s set to do it every day however he will see if it can be done. I replied “see if it can be done, well that was what I asked for right from the start” to which he relied no you didn’t so we ended up having a disagreement where he said how much of a nightmare I was to get hold of during the setup process, ended up being very rude to me. I contacted Create Pay head office who said don’t worry about contacting him in future just contact us direct so I spoke to them about my issue with the banking and they gave me Worldpay’s number and said I would need to call them to get it changed. Contacted them and they changed the settings and thought to myself great, I’m now sorted and I don’t need to speak to Clem anymore so all is good. However the next day my transactions got deposited again, contacted Worldpay again who changed more settings but the following day the same again. This has now gone on for a week and Worldpay have now finally admitted that the terminal cannot bet setup up for manual banking even though it does give you the option to do manual banking on it. They said to go back to Create Pay and cancel the contract which I did. However to my shock and disbelief they said no problem but it’s going to cost me £300 to cancel it cause I’m outside of my 14 day cooling off period which started when the contract was signed and not when you started doing transactions. I replied so I wouldn’t of known this issue until I started using it but there still isn’t anything they can do, or is it a case of won’t do. So I’m now stuck with this machine for the next 18 months which is now more expensive than my previous one due to all the extra bank charges I’m now going to pay. I can’t believe a company would keep so much bad feeling between them and their customer to what amounts to £15 per month, thank you Create Pay. Will now seek help from other companies like the Ombudsman maybe but will also make sure people are aware of this.
The date is now 12/9/2025 and my wife has received an intimidating call from Clem telling her to remove his name from this review. I contacted him and told him to leave her alone to which he called her again. He has now been blocked and waiting for a call back from his head office but probably won’t get it.

Switching provider
As a business we had not changed provider in over 30years. Dan came and spoke to us on which the savings were stark. We made a relatively easy switch and trade was not at all interrupted.

Thank you Matthew Wickham
Only positive things to say about this company and particularly Matthew Wickham! I have had no issues at all. Matt is so personable, friendly and helpful. Only a phone call away and will even just pop in to see if everything is going well. He is easy to get hold of. It’s nice to have someone you can rely on when dealing with multiple card machines. Also we are paying almost half what we were with our previous supplier.
Thanks again Matt! 👍😊

Impressed
We had a very old terminal and never used to hear from the company we was with, billing didn’t make sense and was hard to even get a bill. The yearly forms that had to be filled were confusing also.
We had a rep call in and at first we all thought “oh here we go” but he was very kind a polite and explained what he could offer us.
It’s been a couple of months now and it’s absolutely brilliant. Kevin came back, set up the terminal, showed us how to use the online invoicing and demonstrated how to use the new terminal, which is super quick.
He even came back 3 weeks later to help with the compliance forms!
Thank you so much Kevin and createpay.
