CREATIVE ESCAPES - Adventurous photography holidays

I have just returned from my 7th photographic holiday with Creative Escapes.
I had not travelled as a single traveller for many years and was very apprehensive back in 2012 on my first trip to Sri Lanka now 7 trips later I cannot think of any other holiday I would rather go on.
The groups are small with very good tuition, personal 1 to 1’s and whether you are a beginner or an advanced photographer Creative Escapes caters for all.

The days can be long but there’s always good food, wine and plenty of banter with like minded people at the end of the day.

I would highly recommend this Company for improving your photography skills - you come back home with some cracking shots.

As a single traveller I was looking for …

As a single traveller I was looking for a holiday but not sure what I wanted to do until I read an article about a company offering Photography teaching in amazing locations, the answer was Creative Escapes. It was a perfect solution for a solo traveller and fast forward quite a few years (!!!!) I have just come back from yet another amazing Creative Escapes experience in India.
I have progressed from a complete novice to a competent user of all my camera settings, no more automatic for me! The Creative Escapes team encourage you to get the most out of the trip by stepping out of your comfort zone and stretch yourself and the destinations are perfect for this as the team find unique off the beaten track locations.
You will spend your day shooting, exploring, emerging yourself in the local community and then regrouping at the end of the day to have a beer/glass of wine and review together everyones efforts. I love these sessions, seeing everyones photos and how we have all captured different elements of the same place is always fascinating.
121 sessions during the holiday with the course Tutors help you focus in on areas of development, pick their brains, get tips and advice or just have a catch up, but they are there all the time so no need to wait for 121's if you need help.
I have met some amazing people, the groups are brilliant and whilst travelling alone I have never felt alone. I whole heatedly recommend the Creative Escape experience its transformed my annual holiday and photography skills!

Creative Escapes holidays... a blast, as always.

Your first Creative Escape is always over whelming and uniquely memorable, leaving you thinking that the second will never match up... but it does! By the time you’ve returned from your third Escape you realise that not only have you had three amazing, action-packed holidays, explored pockets of countries & cultures beyond the tourist traps, eaten a wide variety of local food from top class tasting menus to down and dirty street food, but you’ve also made a stack of new like-minded friends, whilst having a blast.

However the icing on the cake is that during the Escapes you are constantly being taught not just how to use your digital camera, but how to discover & become the photographer that you want to be. The personal one-to-one tutorials on top of the “in the field” practicals help you focus on what you visually want to achieve from the holiday. It has to be said that this is a photography holiday with the emphasis firmly on photography rather than holiday. You quickly appreciate that the harder you work and the deeper your immersion in the field results in a closer connection with the subject and therefore greater and more satisfying photographs.

All in all I’d totally recommend Creative Escapes for adventurous, curious, ambitious individuals who can cope with a bit of gritty photography action during the day, as long as they can return to their boutique hotel at night to review their photos with a glass of wine in hand.

Photography, adventure and fun - the perfect combination!

I have just returned from my fifth photographic adventure with Creative Escapes, and as always it was the perfect balance of 'off the beaten path' photographic exploration and learning; unique hotels; expert photographic tuition and brilliant review sessions; delicious local eateries and lots of laughter with like-minded people.

My Creative Escapes adventures have taken me to Cambodia, Morocco, Sicily, Kerala and most recently Rajasthan. Having embarked on my first trip to Cambodia with my camera firmly on 'auto', over the last 3 years my technical and photographic abilities have soared; I have discovered and started to develop my own style and 100% fuelled my love of photography .. and adventure!

If you love photography and are keen to embrace this and take it to another level; enjoy travelling to fantastic locations and meeting new people who become friends for life .. then go on a photographic adventure with Creative Escapes.

Creative Escapes Photographic Holidays

I have travelled with Creative Escapes on several photographic holidays and I am about to embark on my seventh to India. The photographic holidays provided by this company have been a perfect combination of well planned and perfectly paced itineraries, expert photography tuition , informal group and one to one reviews and fantastic locations with endless opportunities to shoot. Each day on a Creative Escapes holiday focuses on a different photographic genre and a range of photographic techniques to suit all levels. Overall, I highly recommend this company. Their holidays make you feel motivated, pleasantly challenged and nurtured and you return with a sense of achievement and some wonderful and creative photographs.

Seems only yesterday you arrived with a brand new camera in Sri Lanka, now you're a dab hand at portraits and even had one of your shots published! Super well done you.
