This product is rough. Sharp edges and ill fitting. The corners on the actual loop are sharp enough to damage a sling. The butt plate and the butt stock fit together in sort of a male/female locking system. The flat sling loop doesn't take any of this into account so you end up with a flat plate separating the stock and butt pad. Eliminating any locked together aspect so only two screws, into plastic, hold the assembly together. It's usable with some work but far from a finished product,

Very good concept and design. However, because it is stamped it leaves sharp 90deg burrs in the loop that will cut your leather sling. You have to file off the burrs and round the profile.

This is an absolute need for high power shooters with the second gen UBR. Having said that you may need to do a little finishing work to the piece. The cutout for the sling is a bit tight for leather slings I used a file to relive the laser cut a little.

Perfect fit and made of thick steel. Very high quality

I really like the plate. It makes the rifle feel more traditional and allows the pressure to be force downward vs outward. This is the piece to buy - just a little high for what it is. Wish the price was better

Treat this as a 95% complete part; it takes a little work to make a nice install. Magpul original screws are short for the application, so I ordered #8x3/4 M812PPWW from McMaster Carr; 100 unit minimum order so I have 98 extra. I sanded the ridges off of the butt pad to close the gap - I did it by hand with a 120 grit sheet laid flat on the bench, so this took some time (not shown, for some reason the 2nd photo did not upload; maybe it will appear on the edit). I also sanded the outside of the bend with a belt sander (not shown) to improve the fit - the upper edge of the lowest slot does not follow the bend line, leaving a bulge that prevents the curved end of the butt pad from laying flat. Otherwise, I slightly softened the sharp edges and painted the plate satin black. Surely the exposed portions of the loop will lose paint over time, but the butt pad line is slightly recessed and should retain the paint. I am very happy with the end result.

Clever idea. Functional, but doesn't fit very well. Sharp edges need to be deburred with a Dremel or file before use.

This product works perfect on a Magpul UBR Gen 2 butt stock. But I did not use it for that. With minor modification I used it on another Magpul stock so the sling would attach at the bottom rather than on the side of the stock.

Needs a little better finishing. But it does make sling attachment easier.

Poor fit on UBR Gen 2 stock; pad would not sit flush with device installed. Well made product and good idea, it just does not fit. There were fairly large gaps when installed between the end of the stock and device and between pad and device. I took it off and reinstalled the side mounted quick release sling loop. Would prefer a bottom mounted loop, but this device was not the solution.

Definitely a must for service rifle competitors using this stock. Easy installation and solid for carry and off hand. Works well with all standard service rifle slings.

I installed a weight on my Magpul UBR II which made the sling swivel mount, which is not in the accustomed location for service rifle, hard to access as the weight sticks out. This sling loop was the solution, but I had to modify the rubber butt plate on the UBR for it to work. The Magpul UBR II butt plate, which the rubber is attached to a plastic frame, has a ridge around the inside edge that fits into a groove when mounted to the stock. The sling loop body is flat with no groove, so I had to sand the ridge off the butt plate for it to work. Now it fits fairly well with only a narrow gap right at the bend where the loop is. I could probably take more time fitting it to make it perfect. The service rifle community is probably a small market and this is about the only solution I have found to attach the sling in the proper location especially when the weight is added.

The Sling Loop is very well made; solid material. It was attached to the butt of the UBR stock with no difficulty. As with every "modification" to dissimilar parts, however there was one minor inconvenience. When attaching the sling you are required to unscrew the padded butt-plate from the stock. You then "sandwich" the plate between the butt and the butt-plate. When screwing the plate back on, care must be taken to not strip the holes in the polymer stock. I made this error with one screw because I was trying to close a small space that appeared between the loop and the butt-plate. Subsequently I applied Locktite and remedied the problem. The small space remains, but does not affect the stock in any way.

Piece needs fitting. Mine was not bent correctly to fit flush. Also sling loop needed filing and sanding due to being very sharp, on all sling contact edges. Other than that it works as advertised.

The metal loop digs into my shoulder, I took it off faster than I could put it on.

Only reason for not giving 5 stars is the rubber pad does not set flush against the sling loop. Functionally works great, just not aesthetically pleasing having that gap. Will probably end up filling in with a bead of dark silicone.
