Cross Country Moving Company is one of the top recommended long distance moving service providers in the United States. We work meticulously to make sure that our certified professional movers are equipped with the necessary tools which will enable us to offer the best moving and packaging services to our customers. Have you been busy planning a long distance move? I remember my first time moving across the country all by myself. It was complicated, messy, and a lot of work, to say the least. After seeing how much time and effort goes into moving, I got the idea to start my own moving business. At the very beginning, it was just me and a couple of my close friends with the same aspiration. A few years later, we managed to grow and build a professional moving business that operates across almost all of the US States!

Great moving company
We had a great experience with the Cross Country Moving Company. Mark, our relocation consultant, was fantastic: very friendly, communicative, and always available for the myriad questions I had. The moving team on both ends were professional, friendly, and took care of our belongings. They were super efficient. I would use this company again in the future.
Great Job!!!
The initial estimate and scheduling was easy, the movers on both ends were quick and professional, and our moving agent Freddy was easy to reach throughout the process. We had a few days of warning for both the pick-up and drop off, and the movers stuck to their schedule. We felt that the company was committed to good service, and that no one was trying to rip us off Overall, CCM did a great job with our move, and they really heled to reduce the stress of a big transition. I recommend them for anyone consideration a life altering move.

Horrible Move Broker -AVOID AT ALL COSTS
We started the process of finding a mover with very low expectations. This industry is in desperate need of regulation, laws, and consequences for bad actors like Matthew Chevalier and Cross Country Moving company.
They (Matthew Chevalier) will swear up and down (lie) that they are an actual carrier but when it comes time to ship your house hold goods they will simply sell your business to the LOWEST BIDDER and pocket the difference. Some of you "free market types" may think this is okay. Here is why it's not. They outright lie to you about the service you are about to purchase by making you think your precious memories and goods will be handled by professional movers they directly hire, train, and maintain. They will not. They will hire out the literal cheapest movers possible who will in turn pay the most pathetic wages you can get away with. Now instead of having paid $8-10k (for professional movers) for a cross country move your shipment is now being handled by the cheapest labor money can buy. Ask yourself do you want an angry underpaid guy handling all your house hold goods (some of which are literally irreplaceable)? I think most would say no. Finally they will claim that they are only registered with the Department Of Transportation as a Carrier Only (US DOT 2626333) which is technically true. However this industry is so poorly regulated there does not seem to be any consequences for brokering out your move to the lowest bidder anyway, despite having told you they wouldn't. This explains why a lot of bad companies have such wildly different reviews because sometimes the cheapest movers are not available (booked up) and they manage to hire a decent outfit out of sheer necessity *though they will still charge you nearly double of what it actually costs. BOYCOTT THEM.

cross country nightmare
Asked for a quote for 1300 cubic ft of inventory. The rep said they quote based on inventory & that is how they can charge lower rates than competitors. He sent a quote based on my inventory list, & I followed up with a video, as requested. We settled on a date for packing/moving. The day before moving, the rep said that based on the video I had sent 3 weeks prior (20 days exactly), the move would cost $2,000 more than they quoted. They made sure we didn’t have time to find a different company to move us from CA to PA. He said it would take a full day for packing/loading, but I did not expect that to be from 12- 1:30am (for 1 bed, 1 office, 1 nursery). They played Tetris with the truck because they sent one for 1100 cubic ft instead of 1300. Also couldn’t fit our lawnmower so we had to leave that behind. They asked us to go to McDonald’s at 10pm for them. At 1:30am, they left 20 boxes, packing tape, and (McD’s) trash everywhere. We received an audacious email from the rep in the AM saying we owed an additional $1200. We called him to ask how, when he had the video & inventory list for 3 weeks. Instead of explaining what we were being charged for, he berated us, then hung up. He then texted that he was calling dispatch to tell them to return our stuff & they would charge us for all of the packing & moving. His texting was frantic, full of contradictions & he wouldn’t answer calls. We called the main line & connected with a manager, who was barely better than the rep. After we explained the situation to him, his response was that we didn’t need to go get McDonald’s for the crew, & that they don’t use videos as a means to compile an estimate (even though that is what they used 2 days prior to say they needed to charge us more before showing up). We had no choice but to pay. We were moving across the country with our 4 month old & this experience was so incredibly stressful. After googling, I realized others had issues with that rep as well. A side note, he said it would take about 5-7 days for delivery; it was 14. After unpacking some items, realized several were broke and then packed that way. A few items were broken and packed as separate pieces, indicating they knew they were broken, said nothing, and packed them for us to open glass shards.

Do Not waste your money
Do not use this company!! The movers took my Breathing Machine after I told them not to pack it in their truck, I went 5 days without it. They gave me a quote of $ 2890 then the day of the move charged me over $10,000. They changed the pickup and delivery dates 3 x, and damaged my wood furniture, chipped and scratched!! They were only moving a Household of 1 person. They moved me from CA to AZ

Great company
Successful Coast to Coast
Used them for our coast to coast move. Everything about the experience was fantastic, from our care representative to the actual movers at both locations. Would definitely recommend them to anyone who is moving long distance.
I absolutely do NOT recommend Cross…
I absolutely do NOT recommend Cross Country Moving Company! They told me given our circumstances (i.e: my husband being in the hospital because he needs two organ transplants) and me moving and being across the country all by myself that they would have my stuff here no later than the 20th of December. The last update I received Thursday morning (the 16th) told me the truck was in Nevada (not that far from Cali) and then it went radio silent. When I called to get more info I was told it would now be the 24th-25th…or possibly later.
They took our stuff on the 9th. That's over two weeks.
They know my situation and they know I’ve been without any of my things (including my car because they took that separately.) all while having to travel back and forth to the hospital (because the moment we landed in California on the 13th we had to take him to the hospital and he was admitted.)
I even paid extra and had them take our stuff days before we got to Cali in order to make sure everything would be here no later than the 20th.
Between the truck going MIA. Being told one thing and paying extra for it. I can’t recommend them and I truly wish I went with someone different (but they were rated well….although I can’t fathom why at this point.)

It’s been a great experience to have…
It’s been a great experience to have the cross country moving. I moved across the country and it did helped a lot. The workers are friendly and efficient! Even though they notified you 48hrs before the delivery, the delivery time is negotiable for the moving hot season. I really appreciate that!
This was my first move where I actually…
This was my first move where I actually had a lot of stuff to move out of state. I think I may have been a bit paranoid at first when considering my options. I didn't want a company taking advantage of the fact that I didn't know too much about long distance moves. I didn't know what a good price was or what sort of service options were best. I took tons of time to read online and called around to every place that seemed capable of doing the move. Cross Country rubbed me the right way. They were very laid back and didn't push me to schedule asap over the phone. They also told me how they handle the long moves which seemed like the best method. For anyone looking for info about long distance moves. Do your research as much as you can because there are some shady companies out there. Thankfully cross country movers was not one of them. Great Movers.
these guys were solid
these guys were solid. Straight shooting and one price no hidden fees. Driver was professional and car was delivered on time and in perfect shape. I will use them again.
After landing a new job in Phoenix
After landing a new job in Phoenix, AZ it was time for me to move out of the cold in the Midwest. I've only done local moves in the past so I looked to friends, family and even social media to get info on movers. One of good friends from college recommend this business. I checked them out and got all the info. I compared their rates and reviews with a couple of other options in the area. They checked out as being the best possible option for moving out of state so I booked the move, In just 2 days everything arrived. No damage or stress along the way. The whole team was easy to work with and got the job done right.
Above average service
Making a big transition like moving to another state is exciting but it's also an emotional rollercoaster. I gave these guys my trust and they did an amazing job. They could have easily caused additional stress and ruined my mood or any excitement I had. But they didn't, they added to the excitement with great work ethic, and very well rehearsed process for getting everything form point A to point B. This was arguably one of the best moving experiences I've ever had in my life. I'm only taking time to write this review because I've dozens of mediocre to negative experiences in the past and this one was much much different.
Family Move
We are a family of five and decided to completely relocate for work. Our house has 6 bedrooms and it just way too much to pack/organize our services. We needed some professional help and we got it with Cross Country. My father in law had used their service for years ago and recommended the company to us. Happy doesn't describe how these movers left us, I'd say more like ecstatic. In all my years I've never dealt with a company that truly takes the stress out of moving. They advertise it but few really deliver it and the majority have hidden feels. Cross country had no hidden fees and really provided some top notch service. The final total was very reasonable especially for the effort and organization we received on their part.
Everyone we encountered here was…
Everyone we encountered here was helpful and dedicated. One of their reps actually came to our house for the estimate and he was great, we felt comfortable with him immediately. He answered every call, email and question we had. The movers came as scheduled and were excellent. They packed our furniture very well and they were quick. The price quote included the cost for all packing materials so there were no surprises. Delivery came as promised on the day and time discussed. They even took time to help unpacked the furniture and assembled a few things they had disassembled. Every piece of furniture made it with no damage, even the pieces made of particle board, which I was almost certain it would be a big issue . All the boxes were accounted for. Highly recommend these guys 👍🏽
Extra care
I didn't fully know I picked the right company until it was moving day and I met the movers. They were fast, organized and so so nice. They laid down a runner when they entered so no dirt or anything was tracked on both my old and new place. I took the day off from work because I had planned for this move to take at least 8 hours but they got it done in 6!!! Starting at 8am I had the a nice portion of my afternoon free to unpack and relax. Awesome job guys!
THE WORST MOVERS IN THE WORLD!
Read all the negative ones and you will know. They have multiple websites: crosscountrymovers.com and crosscountrymovingcompany.net are the same guys. And have many different Yelp pages. So do your homework well.
They are NOT even a real moving company. A bunch of guys with with a phone. They will give you a very sweet deal and take the money upfront. Then the nightmare begins.
A small local company comes to you. Cross Country Movers don't own anything, not even the trucks. Hence they never know where your stuff is. You can keep calling and pull your hair but they will keep telling you 'the driver will call you 24 hours before delivery' and they have no idea where the truck is or when it will arrive.
We got our stuff three weeks later. Many things broken because no one is responsible; the packers are a different company, the driver different, and the delivery guys someone else. No one cares how your things are.
You'd be better off finding a handyman and paying him to do the job. He'll probably break less things and keep you updated on when he's reaching.

Competitive Pricing, Professional Demeanor
With good rating on BBB and google I felt pretty confident with them early on. Their pricing was competitive and they very respectful over the phone. When I told them I just wanted to collect info and didn't want to give them an exact date they were very easy going about it. While other businesses were pushy to get the sale done they stayed professional. After a few days of thinking it over I called back and set up my move. Glad I did getting from the midwest to the east coast was a lot easier than I thought. No issues with them at all, communication was great during the move as well.
Tough Move Out but they got it done!
I knew the move out was going to be a tough one on which ever moving company we chose because the elevator in our building had been out of order for the past couple weeks and still hadn't been worked on. Without the service elevator the movers were going to have to cary some heavy furniture down 5 flights of stairs. I addressed this to rep over the phone when I spoke Cross Country Movers.
They sent over some extremely in shape movers on the morning of our move. They had a system in place to handle this tricky predicament. They wrapped a lot of things in moving blankets and slid few things gently down the stairs as two man team. They covered other things with the same blankets while carrying them so if it touched the walls it would be protected. I was expecting it take them half the day to move everything out (2 bedroom plus den apartment). They had everything loaded on the truck in 2 hours - 3 guys.
They took this tough move and handled it like true professionals. The Move in was very smooth. Once the move out was done it was all very simple after that. Great Job!
Way Above Average
Organized, reliable and know what they're doing are just of the things I want to say about this business. I'm not big into writing reviews but they really worked hard and came through for me during a big transition in my life. I was under a lot stress and they didn't add to any of it. They took the stress of moving away. Paying Extra for packing was so worth it. Service was way above the average mover.
