Food good, restaurant disgraceful

Promised to send a voucher over 2 weeks ago, NOTHING received, their promises are as clean/reliable as their filthy restaurant.
My daughter has been ill in Leeds Hospital for several weeks but on a rare occasion to venture out we (all the family of 10 people) took her to The Picture House, Leeds for Sunday Lunch (this was the only availability for 10 people at such short notice.
On arrival the reserved table had to be fully wiped down by my wife as it was still covered in left over food and drink.
The carpet was filthy with our feet sticking to the carpets in places. The toilets (both male and female) were disgusting.
We had no choice other than to order the carvery but to be honest the food was excellent.
Come on Crown Carveries how can you let the unbelievably bad restaurants/facilities let down your fantastic carveries?

All-You-Can-Eat-Breakfast Poor Experience.

I and my partner visited the Picture House Crown Carveries in Leeds for two All-You-Can-Eat Breakfasts with hot drinks, which we paid just over £12.

Unfortunately the title All-You-Can-Eat part was sadly lacking in substance.

We visited on the 24/11/17 at around 10.30am.

At paying at the bar for the food and drinks we were informed that there were no clean coffee/ tea cups so they would be provided later.

On approaching the self serve food area we were faced with cold bacon, no eggs ready, no hash browns ready, undercooked sausage (realised after cutting into it), plum tomatoes were mostly juice, and no cutlery available.

I made up a breakfast with what I could find and my partner stood along with other customers in the line awaiting for the food to be brought out.

We were eventually provided cups and the cutlery was supplied just as I thought I’d have to use a spoon.

My remaining food went cold due to waiting for the cutlery and then my partner gave up on hers as hers was cold even though she kept her plate under the warming lights whilst awaiting the rest of the food to be brought out. The undercooked sausage was the last straw for her.

I gave up on mine too and decided to cut our losses and go for some toast and jam instead. Pretty expensive hot drink with toast !

Unfortunately only one slice of bread was available so we ended up sharing one slice. No staff were around to ask for more bread.

Feeling unimpressed at this I approached the pub Manageress Jodie to let her know of our joint dissatisfaction.
She advised that they were two staff members down and were under pressure to run the pub. She advised the sausages are sent in Pre-Cooked so didn’t know why they were undercooked. I didn’t realise food wasn’t totally cooked on site !

I suggested that if the establishment was experiencing pressure to provide adequate service and food items from the provided menu then perhaps the Breakfast Menu should have been amended or suspended.

Jodie advised that she would face a disciplinary if she took that route and agreed Service had been compromised.

She could clearly see from the amount of uneaten food on our plates that we hadn’t eaten due to the above issues.
She apologised and took our plates away.

My opinion > If they were experiencing issues with a breakfast menu then i was left wondering how they’d manage with the main food menus and carvery’s.

We left the establishment we had eaten at many times before deciding to not return anytime soon.

Email and Twitter correspondence sent to Crown Carveries contact us avenues.

So if you wish to visit this establishment I’d first advise to have a look at the food self service area to see if enough food is available, cups and cutlery are available too before paying.

I’ve received a e-voucher to the cost of the meals although I have a conclude this has put us off from revisiting for a while especially as we are now aware some of the food is pre-cooked elsewhere off site and transported to the pub.

In August 2017 we visited the Swan …

In August 2017 we visited the Swan Hotel in Coleshill for a birthday celebration lunch for my wife. We ordered chicken from the menu only to be told there was none available. We had the beef and found it full of gristle and left most of it. We have had many good meals at The Swan and I emailed the hotel expressing my disappointment of our experience.
I received an email apology in response. I said an apology was not acceptable and expected a full or partial refund. No reply.
I then sent an email to M and B head office stating what had taken place, but received an email back referring me to the original email from the Swan. I responded by saying it was not acceptable. I am still waiting for a reply 4 weeks later
