I joined the CTO Academy Digital MBA because I was looking for a program that combined business knowledge with technology — something that could help me grow into a true technology leader.

CTO Academy’s MBA was genuinely enriching and practical. The online peer-to-peer sessions and community meetups added real value, and the program helped me build on my strengths while addressing key gaps—especially self-leadership. Most importantly, it reinforced how critical business understanding is for aligning technology with business objectives and delivering better outcomes for customers. I also met a strong community of like-minded leaders. Highly recommended.

Staying engaged in an online learning environment while balancing work and life was a real challenge, but the flexibility of this program made it possible, something I simply couldn’t have managed with a traditional in-person course.

What really stood out was the breadth of topics, especially those beyond the usual technology operations. Diving into areas like leadership strategy, finance, and organisational design gave me fresh perspectives that I’m excited to apply in my role.

CTO Academy provides a broad range of excellent material as well as a great community.
The lecture series is comprehensive and follows a logical path. The self-paced rhythm of weekly material releases for 4 weeks followed by a catch-up week worked well for me. I joined to grow my knowledge of the commercial, financial, legal and security demands of a CTO role more than the self-development and modern leadership. I suspect many course participants join for opposing reasons; suffice to say the course is well-balanced across all the leadership demands of a modern CTO.
Note I'm based in Australasia - the community isn't as strong here, and there are less events focused on my timezones, nonetheless there was certainly enough of a community feel for me to benefit - Andrew Weaver has put a lot of effort into making this work, and it's much appreciated!
I will certainly be going back to material repeatedly in the future.

The lectures! They were from the people out there in the real time and as we call it - the trenches! Extremely engaging and enlightening to listen to each individual with such diverse backgrounds! My only regret is that my procrastination syndrome got the better of me at times, but thanks to the continued support from the Course Admins, I managed to hang on and finish it!

The focus is real world breadth over depth, and the breadth focus helps to really define the many and varied facets of being a CTO, and this is why it is definitely more professional development that deep academia. Andrew and the other staff are always very helpful and friendly too.

CTO Academy is a fantastic and cost-effective resource for tech leaders. The Digital MBA program exceeded my expectations around content, flexibility, and overall value. I took an accelerated learning path because 1) the content was truly interesting and fun and 2) I could apply what I was learning immediately in my current role and with building career opportunities. I was also able to provide 5 seats to the Future Leaders course to my team for free.

Spending several thousand euros and a few months on an online training isn’t something one does lightly -- there are plenty of ways such a long journey could disappoint.

Andrew, Jason, and the team have done a monumental job assembling a thorough, well-structured and up-to-date curriculum that truly covers everything a CTO needs to know. Many lectures (especially on legal and financial topics that most CTOs seldom dive into) -- gave me a much more complete view of what it means to be a senior technical leader. I absolutely loved the war stories from Gus!

The community around CTO Academy is also thriving and full of genuinely motivated people. I haven’t seen any random participants -- everyone is engaged, helpful, and eager to share. There’s a lively social side too, with great discussions, panels, and one-off lectures.

I've been fortunate enough to complete a number of training courses aimed at leadership, technology and business skills.
I wanted to study a course specifically for technology leaderships and either fill in gaps in my own knowledge or add to what I already knew.
