Plastic shards in casserole from Cuisinart food processor
Our Cuisinart FP-8SC food processor’s plastic work bowl top failed shortly after its warranty period expired. A piece of plastic broke off and was chopped and blended into our casserole. The failure wasn’t detected until one of our guests pulled a sharp piece of plastic out of his mouth. Obviously, that dinner party ended poorly! I was embarrassed to have subjected my guests to the risk of injury from the Cuisinart product failure, and the waste of having to throw the casserole out uneaten.
The Cuisinart‘s work bowl and motor base were not in need of replacement since it saw only occasional use in the short time we have owned it. I wrote to Cuisinart asking for a replacement top (cost $16), but they refused because the product was just out of its warranty period. They somewhat cynically offered a 20% discount on a new Cuisinart purchase, perhaps hoping to profit from our misfortune. Of course, I would never buy from a company who won’t stand behind its products and instead hides behind its warranty policy.
Our previous Cuisinart lasted for decades. Our satisfaction with that food processor led us to buy another to replace it. I know that manufacturing defects occasionally surface in all companies’ products. The test of a good company is how it responds when a customer is subjected to the embarrassment, inconvenience and risk of injury caused by a manufacturing defect in one of its products, whether in warranty or not. Cuisinart failed this basic test, deciding that $16 was too much to spend for customer satisfaction, loyalty and its reputation for integrity.
Mistaken in thinking Cuisinart was a great brand
I thought Cuisinart was a great brand. When shopping for a Blender Food Processor Combo I settled on the SmartPower Duet Deluxe 600-watt Blender/Food Processor BFP-603. The Food Processor functioned for 3 months and suddenly the blade won't spin. I called customer service without my receipt. They investigated but couldn't pull up my product so I had to wait for a call back. I called them back after 5 as I was busy with holidays and got foreign customer service which is fine. Still, I don't know if the information is correct as she told me the product was discontinued and they could only give me a 20%discount on another product purchased directly through the company. I found my receipt and am attempting to contact the warranty department as I'm under the 3-year warranty. I've been on hold for 30 minutes so far...... I'm trying to salvage money spent but don't think I want another Cuisinart product.
LOTS of MOLD growing in the water…
Regarding coffee maker we've had for a year. LOTS of MOLD growing in the water chamber where the water is held. Poor design. Always had coffee grounds in the basket that over flowed and it would seep up in and over and around the basket, creating a huge mess. My husband and I are concerned that we were drinking moldy coffee. Yes, we cleaned it and ran vinegar through it. Horrible design. Have pictures but have no option to add them here.
Slow customer service
My 2 year old coffee maker stopped working. I contacted Cuisinart as it was under warranty for 3 years. Had to send them pictures of the product with the cord cut along with model and serial number info. I didn’t hear from them for 3 days. I messaged customer service and got abrupt answers like I was bothering them. It took 6 days for them to “process” the claim and finally ship the replacement by UPS ground. This is like pony express to get to me so it won’t arrive for the holiday. Warranty replacement should be handled more efficiently. I am rethinking any future appliance purchases now………….
Don't Get burned by Cuisinart Toaster
Cuisinart toaster barely lasted 6 months. Burned anything/everything even on a low setting. The bagel button meant nothing. The toaster toasted/burnt bagels on both sides. An overpriced piece of junk.
Excellent customer service
Had an issue with a kettle, which was under warranty. Contacted cuisinart had a quick reply which is very unusual these days and received a replacement kettle within 4 days. Great customer service.
Got this as a gift
Got this as a gift. After 1 year woke up to a smoke alarm - toaster started smoking middle of the night had to grab my NEWBORN baby and run out of the house (husband was able to get it under control but had to stay in a hotel overnight while my husband cleaned all the sheets, bedding, kitchen etc because the entire house was black smoke). Called them and after much hassle sent me a new one. After 5 months it stopped working. Called their customer care and they literally hung up in my face 2x after being on hold for over an hour saying there is nothing they can do. Eventually got sent another one and told ‘it’s the last one’ as if it’s my fault it nearly lit my house on fire. Nonetheless I sold it brand new and bought a different brand because I want nothing to do with this company or the anxiety that comes with it.

Bought a Cuisinart 1.1 liter deep fryer, have used it maybe 7 times....now it says oil is ready when it is still cold... what a piece of crap! Tried to get hold of the company , wait time 56 min., please... going to try & return it thru Amazon... so tired of buying junk that is supposed to be good.
Cuisinart coffemaker: Rusty piece of junk
We bought this coffeemaker less than 5 months ago. We noticed that it was ruining our counter top because there is a lot of rust build up under the coffee maker. No, problem, I though, there is this great 3 year warranty that Cuisinart has, let me call them and have them replace it. WRONG. Rust apparently is not covered under the warranty. Why would it be, a coffeemaker will never come into contact with WATER will it? We had another, similar , Cuisinart Coffee Maker and it lasted for 10 years w/o a single spec of rust. Do not buy this or any other product from Cuisinart.
Our new coffee maker caught on fire and…
Our new coffee maker caught on fire and if I had not been there it could have started a house fire. I called customer support and arranged for an exchange. To get the new coffee maker I first had to send in the old one and Cuisinart was to send a return shipping label. Its been 2 weeks and multiple calls and still no shipping label. My next call will be for a refund so I can buy another brand.
Tiersa was helpful and patient with me…
Tiersa was helpful and patient with me in solving the problem I was having with my air fryer oven. I will be a loyal Cuisinart costumer forever !
Poor grinder
Bought a spice grinder and it packed up 3 years later despite light use. Contacted customer service and was offered a paltry 50% on a similar grinder. What i thought would be a great product is just another hyped up brand. Doesn't live up to the standard expectation and I would be better off buying one from the pound shop in the hope I know what would be the expected outcome. Thank you for your generous 50% offer cuisinart, shove it where the sun rise. Not buying another one again!
My Cuisinart coffee maker
I purchased a Cuisinart coffee maker two years ago at a KOHL'S brick/mortar store. I take very good care of my coffee maker and use it to make 6 cups of coffee every morning. I've noticed there are worn spots starting to appear on the heating surface. Does this effect the efficiency of my coffee maker!

I had a problem with my griddle caused a 100% by my neglect. I called customer service and replaced it without any issues.
Could not have asked for any better service.
I have been two years trying to decide…
I have been two years trying to decide on a stand mixer. I was debating between the Cuisinart or the KitchenAid. I finally purchased the Precision Master 5.5-Quart Stand Mixer (SM-50). This is a very nice heavy duty mixer. I was disappointed with several things. One, the paddle doesn't have rubber on the sides, it doesn't have the ability to scrape the mixture into the batter from the sides of the bowl, you have to stop continually and scrape down the sides and the bottom of the bowl, because the paddles do not reach bottom to incorporate the ingredients into the mixture (as does the KitchenAid). Two, you cannot purchase extra mixing bowls for this mixer (as you can for the KitchenAid). There are some recipes you need two mixing bowls (Whoopies). If you don't mind the things I don't like, I would purchase the stand mixer. It can be really combersome, stopping, scraping and making sure the ingredients are all incorportated into your mixture. Now, I wish I had gone with my initial decision of purchasing the KitchenAid. I went with Cuisinart because over the years, we have had several of Cuisinart products and have been very pleased with their products.
I received my Cuisinart cookware
I received my Cuisinart cookware, set with scratches all over it. For how much you pay for cookware it shouldn’t have any scratches on it! There were no apparent damages to the boxes whatsoever. So the scratches were done before they were ever put into the boxes. I’m wondering if they just stack them on top of each other and throw them around because how would they get scratches all over them? Not good to be sending out expensive cookware sets that customers pay for when you’re a well-known brand. Sad.
Ashamed to see a reputable company fall after many years in business.
As mentioned in other reviews Cuisinart's stainless steel products tend to stain and pit with black/brown spots immediately after first use. The stains are impossible to remove and are concerning because I don't know what they are. They could be mold (all though I doubt since bleach won't remove them) or chemical stains. What's worse is that Cuisinart will not respond to customers regarding this issue. I tried contacting them through their support from their website with NO response. This same issue is mentioned by other customers here and across the web, including Amazon. It's ashamed to see such a long lived and once respected company plunge into such disreputable practices. All I want is a response with some guidance about this issue or my money back.
Kettle with known problems, just out of warranty and won't honour
I have their temperature controlled kettle which wasn't cheap at £100 and last week it stopped working. I sent a support request and explained that i'd lost my receipt. Cuisinart said that if i found the order details they'd look into it, though the kettle was out of warranty (so warranty with order number, no warranty without?). Explaining why i didn't have the order details fell on deaf ears and all that they sent was a 'goodwill' gesture of a 50% off code for any of their items.. Can't recommend this brand, the kettle problem is a known issue and my £7.99 Asda kettle has outlived it.
Poor quality, terrible return policy
I purchased an item that did not live up to the claims advertised. It's also fragile and easily broken. When purchased directly from the website, cuisinart will not take back a product that has been used even within one week of purchase, so if you try it and its terrible, you're just stuck with it.
The Cuisinart Double Belgian Maker is…
The Cuisinart Double Belgian Maker is an inferior replacement for the original Waring Pro Belgian Maker. I called Waring because my waffle maker was not performing well. They told me the Cuisinart was the same machine, but relabeled. It ABSOLUTELY IS NOT!!!! It doesn’t get hot enough. The slide heating dial does not give intermediate settings like 3.5 and 4.5. The color of the waffle is not consistent; it has light and dark spots. And the waffle doesn’t finish in the bottom of the well when you open it; it finishes in the top. I made waffles in two different brand new machines with the same results. Parent company ConAir, bring the real machine to market!!!! And not with an omelette maker on the flip side. What an incredible disappointment!!!!
