Scam jewelry company
I paid $830 for a pair of earrings that were clearly listed and sold as 10K rose gold. When you buy jewelry at this price point, you have to be able to trust that the metal is what the seller claims. The underlying gold (or lack of it) is something a customer cannot verify without destroying the piece, so honesty from the jeweler is essential.
Prior to this issue, Cushionblue had sent an image or video of the earrings, which they make in India. The earrings had swirled silver and rose gold - I had never seen this before, but I now know it was their team getting ready to plate the jewelry without ever disclosing the same. When I called out that this was not the correct metal, they "corrected" it by cheaply plating.
After only two years of keeping the earrings in an earrings box and wearing them once, the earrings have completely darkened and the plating has worn through, exposing the base metal underneath. I cannot attach images via Trustpilot but the difference is obvious and concerning.
When I contacted the seller about the issue, they refused to take any responsibility. Their only response was to ask that I pay for return shipping, both ways, so that they could "inspect" the earrings. They would not clarify what they were going to do with the earrings, did not take accountability despite obviously plating over them per the original pictures sent, and refused to respond further.
This is not acceptable for a seller representing jewelry as 10K rose gold. Do not purchase from them - they should absolutely not be tricking customers with cheap plating, providing horrible customer service, and not standing behind their products.
