Diabolical. Product never sent out, money was sent direct to a personal account (more fool me it seems). Bank refuses to claw back money. SCAM

Non existent customer service - disappointing as the initial communication was good and my rustic bar was delivered on time but sadly not to the agreed specifications. I was assured by Summa that this would be rectified and that one of the team would be visiting to complete the remedial work asap. There then followed a truly bizarre couple of months with promises from Summa and then cancellations/excuses/fobbing off. Clearly this company had zero intention of any further visits to remedy the faults and I was just being strung along - dates given then no shows because the 'van had broken down', 'the driver was over his hours', emails ignored and then accused of 'badgering' if I pursued. Finally, for my sanity, I called it a day and brought in a carpenter to rebuild the bar - lesson learnt - wish I had researched this company (formerly The Sawdust Company) before ordering from them. I note on Trust Pilot that Summa is responding to negative reviews by stating that such reviews are 'false' and being left by a rival firm - do not believe this slur. Conversely I suspect that the positive reviews are 'false' and being posted by family and friends who work at that company. Please do not touch Customwood with a barge pole.

Items missing from delivery that have never turned up.
No refund given.
No answer to communications.

Initial communication was great, the bar that I received along with the bin shed (all be it 6 weeks later) is also great. And I’d love to be leaving a a 5* review but I can’t. I’ve still had no bar stools to go with my bar. Promise after promise that they would turn up. I even drove down to their workshop (from Bristol) to find it closed up. I’ve got numerous WhatsApp messages on how great I was for their driver when he got caught out by the floods and how understanding and accommodating I was.
I don’t understand why they haven’t done the stools for the bar when the workmanship of the items I have revived is good. I just have an incomplete item and now no response to any calls or messages.

With reference to my initial review dated 29th May 2024 titled '...look to a solicitor'. I have just spotted your response. Oh Summa it seems you may have a memory issue here, allow me to retort. After 3 months I was getting nowhere via the usual routes of calls and WhatsApp (not very official but there you go, modern times). I was the man that drove one hour down to your workshop, parked outside for a while and waited for you so we could preamble and talk. Your kettle had just boiled but there was no offer of a cup of tea, such a shame. Beard, glasses, Yorkshire accent, out of pocket by 500 pounds? No? Okay well we walked and talked, with you eventually giving a partial refund, with a promise to pay the remainder the following day. You said you were locked out of your HSBC account. Still no recollection? Ask the 2 men and one lady who were in your workshop who saw me outside, surely they remember. You really need to see a specialist about your selective amnesia it is quite worrying. If it helps Summa, my bank account and WhatApp messages can prove to you that I am not a 'rival company', so I trust this jogs your foggy brain. Good luck to all who are waiting for a refund. Edit: There is an application to 'strike off' via DS01(ef). Basically the company is closing down, so check with banks etc for that refund!

DO NOT GIVE THESE WOMEN ANY MONEY !!!! I bought 2 bars before Christmas as presents for my wife and daughter for separate garden rooms, after paying in full & being promised Christmas delivery they never turned up ! I was sent a pic of a van broke down in the sunshine 🌞 telling me my bars were stuck on that van December 23rd 2024 (lies, lies, lies, ) I was then promised again delivery after Christmas but with freebies to compensate me but would need a £145 payment! You guessed it never turned up !!! I am a disabled customer and they knew this and still ripped me off these are the parasites you are dealing with. If anyone is struggling report to the police , get a crime number and ring your bank you may get some money back and also report to trading standards ! They already have a file on them . Good luck 👍🏻

Received the most flimsy field shelter possible, not fit for animals. It was poorly put together, roof only had 5 screws holding it on, I had to make modifications and spend money just getting it safe, it then blew down despite my efforts. I very much regret using this company. Summer promised me she would send people back to put it right but lots of excuses and never sent anyone. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Genuine Fraud. This isn’t a review from or for a competitor. Like Summa Collings likes to tell you. They are quick to respond at first and ask for money upfront for the Job. Once they have received the money contact becomes near nil. You’ll have “Delays” “Van Breakdowns” “Holiday Issues”… etc she’s already had legal action taken out against her and the company and more will be coming her way. She’s been reported to trading standards. If you have bought a product from there company go on Facebook there is a group under the name “The Custom Wood Company Support” full of other individuals trying to claim refunds or talking to there Bank’s about being Frauded. For those who actually got there Bar or Wood Work supposedly the work is shoddy and doesn’t last. A few individuals have gone down to Yeovil to the company’s main base of operations… which DOES NOT EXSIST. The best thing to do is keep your money and go elsewhere save yourself a massive head and heart ache. Again this isn’t from a competitor don’t let her nice front issue otherwise this is a failing business/ scam like her previous one before it. Please go on Facebook to the group The Custom Wood Company Support. And see for yourself.

We ordered a dog kennel and run. Asked to pay £700 up front.which we did foolishly Awful communication , delivery date given but no sign of them ignoring our calls and messages now.

What a shocking company I wouldn’t have given them 1 star but I had to.
I wished I took notice of all the negative reviews this company has this company took a order for bar and stools and took full payment on day of order and promised we would get the bar before New Year’s Eve as was having NYE party we were promised delivery on Christmas Eve stayed in all day for it. for It not to be delivered communication is non existent unless you comment on there Facebook page then they delete comment and then message you some c**k and bull story about delivery.
And when u comment on their page to get message back after a number of times doing this and deleting your message they block you so you can’t message them at all…. Still got no refund
They should be banned from trading they are common thieves and are getting away with it 😡😡😡😡😡

This is a FRAUDSTER!!! Do NOT do business with her (Summa J. Collings) and her company whatsoever.
Didn't build or delivered my ordered bar table and refused to refund since June 2024.
Now I obtained CCJ against her and she still avoids refinding. So I have instructed bailiffs !

DO NOT ORDER. I purchased items and they arrived incomplete. I have been chasing since October 2024 and the outstanding items still have not arrived. Appalling.

Still waiting for goods paid for in April 2024!
Have e-mails from the Company promising to put things right but nothing has taken place

AVOID THESE PEOPLE, as all the other reviews state they are scammers,they sent me order with no logos on ,no. Seats on stools ,dirty rotten barrels ,tops on table falling apart,sent them back two weeks later they delivered my stools eight if them left them outside in the rain ,without even knocking the door ,when I was waiting in for them ,but didn't deliver my two barrel tables ,hence why they didn't knock door ,I have been messaging summer for two weeks and she kept making up excuses,the van was over weight so they would be on another van , never came,then it would be another date ,waited nothing came ,she will make every excuse under the sun acting all nice ,and saying all the reviews on trust pilot are of one person and they are made up ,well I can say they are all true as all comments in other reviews she tried on me ,I have reported her to trading standards,and also to the government website for scam sellers, I am now taking legal action against her as I haven't received my full order ,everyone who has done a review must stick together and do same ,she can't get away with this any more she should be totally ashamed of her self taking people's money and not sending there orders ,I have also shared all the reviews of here on Facebook and tagged her company,I advise you all do same so people like us don't have to go through this she will get what she deserves shut down for good

A drivers mate did not turn up .. he drove the wrong way south to the midlands and then to the south and back ..

oh but the reality is .. it’s Not his fault as he set off with out any of the product …

Not only is the business registered as (SIC) 77210… which is defo not renting or leasing receational sports goods!!

Facebook says they started the business in 2020 - but companies house says the accounts were dormant last year 2023/24…- and no published accounts ??

I’m sure they started off the business with every intention of delivering a quality product with great customer service … what changed ?

I ordered a "Bar Bundle deal 2" on 7th October 2024, after agreeing a change to the standard dimensions, and it was delivered on 7th November. The product is sturdily built from recycled timber and represents good value for money for our needs. It looks great in our summer house which we have converted into "The Blinkin' Owl" pub, and all of our guests have wholeheartedly agreed with this opinion. There was a a couple of missed delivery dates which resulted in a slight delay from the original schedule but nothing significant, and Custom Wood provided some enhancements to compensate for this. Originally we understood that the bar would be delivered with our logo on it but instead a stencil was provided so that we could do it ourself, which on reflection suited us better as we could choose precisely where to add it.
I would have awarded 5 stars but felt that Custom Wood were not as efficient with customer communication as they were in producing a quality and value-for-money product. This created concerns in my mind after reading some of the other negative reviews, and although they did not reflect my experience, it may benefit Custom Woods overall reputation if they streamline their customer contact processes going forward.

Nevertheless we are very satisfied with this product.

Do not buy from this company, my banks fraud dept have described as "scammers"
I paid in full for a field shelter desperately needed as I have a 32 year old horse on 29th September!! £1500!!
Communication from this company is extremely rare, they said delivery would be on 20th Nov which they failed with after we had taken days of work! Following Monday was suggested as an alternative by us, again, no response!! Failed to give me a requested refund! When I said I would send my husband and son I laws to collect, they said fine if you want to intimidate a woman??!!!
Needless to say, as I'd paid by BACS I was doubtful if santander would help, but today they did, fraud dept, action fraud, trading standards and police have all been informed. I wanted to support a local, young company....never again, luckily my mare has survived the last 2 storms in shaftesbury, dorset so they should be thankful that no vet bills have been claimed for too!!!!

We requested a custom-sized bar to fit our requirements and are very happy with the result. Lovely finish and exactly as we wanted. Summa was very helpful in advised what would and wouldn’t work for finishes. Delivered in plenty of time for Christmas which was what we requested. Driver contacted me on the day to give a time of arrival which was very helpful and kept me updated till he arrived.

Hi yet a again another week another message which we are either being fobbed off or ignored about the refund for missing items.... on both Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp where you advised us to contact with our bank details which we have done.. come on this has gone on since early September which is ridiculous and it is our hard earned money ..may not be much money but it is now the principle of the matter which I will not let go .. and from reviews this seems to be happening an awful lot .. and no this is NOT a fake review as yes we have ordered from you and have all the proof as on other reviews you blame people that they have never ordered from you with same problem and you state they are fake reviews against the business which I can now quite believe is not true... we were so pressured to order via WhatsApp and by bank transfer for a cheaper price .. we raised concerns about the reviews and wanted to pay by Visa for that purpose bit if we did the price would be nearly doubled! So foolishly we payed by Bank Transfer!!!
