We rented a 4-bedroom apartment in Cobra Have in Copenhagen through C.W. Obel Ejendomme and encountered a deeply troubling experience.

After paying over €11,000 upfront (covering first and last month's rent plus a three-month deposit), we had to vacate the property just 14 days after moving in due to a medical emergency. Despite our short stay and efforts to coordinate an urgent move-out inspection, the company conducted an aggressive inspection, citing minor issues to justify excessive deductions.

They claimed that permitted modifications, such as installing curtain rails, necessitated repainting entire rooms, leading to deductions exceeding €5,000. This, combined with other questionable charges, resulted in a refund of only about €2,300, without a detailed breakdown or transparent communication.

Our attempts to discuss these charges were met with dismissiveness, including a remark implying that as non-Danish tenants, we had no recourse.

This experience reflects a pattern of exploitative practices targeting international renters (and based on other reviews, even local danes). We urge others to exercise caution when considering rentals through C.W. Obel Ejendomme.

I lived in Sydhavnen for 6 years ,after I moved out I received an invoice regarding the repairs who soched me,I have the impression that I bought an apartment from there but actually was just rented!inside the apartament everything was cheap,ventilation never was working properly and when I called for checked up,this was the answer,is not a good one and you have to clean more often,because of that ventilation was a damage to the furniture in the kitchen but nothing extraordinary!the hitting in the bathroom didn’t work for more that 4 years,the windows want good polished for before and in the corner up came some scratches and can be also some other examples!I totally don’t recomand this company because you end up working for them and also on top of that you pay a lot of money monthly the rent!

The worst experience ever! We lived there for 6 years and 2 months, and after we moved out, we received a Bill regarding the repairs of 133k,imagine 133k!this is insane! Is very true that the apartament needed some improvment but for this money?! Îs exactly what the other people wrote and i totally recomand to run away from they because i know the way they did also with some other people who lived there and was my friends and had very bad experience!
