This is by far the WORST VPN I have ever used.

CyberGhost is completely unreliable and works maybe 10% of the time on a good day. It is marketed as being compatible with macOS, but after a year and a half of restarting, uninstalling, reinstalling, force quitting, reopening, and repeating this endless cycle over and over again, I genuinely wish I had canceled my subscription on day one.

Eventually, after having cyberghost for over a year and endured HOURS of troubleshooting with customer support, I was finally told this today:

“We do have an issue for Mac devices where the VPN application is not responding upon launch. Rest assured that we can still provide workarounds for it.”

So let me get this straight:

Why is this product marketed as Mac-compatible?

Why is this a known issue?

And why did it take over a year and a half of frustration for anyone to admit it?

If a VPN requires constant “workarounds” just to open, then it doesn’t work. Period.

The name CyberGhost is fitting because this software barely exists in any functional sense. Save yourself the wasted time, money, and sanity. Run for the hills. This is not the VPN for anyone, especially Mac users.

Though I do love the easy click on/click off. I'm not amused with the auto connect as it ALWAYS connects with the closest and not my favourite one. Like why bother giving us the ability to ★ servers we like but they don't matter because the auto connect ignores our preferred server and connects with the closest one even if its in our own country? Like how st★pid is that?

I'm on my 5th year as a CyberGhost user and I just topped up my package with their current deal which now makes my current 2026 May expiry date now 2028 September. Though we can cancel the auto connect. It counts down too quickly and I find I had to rush to catch it to cancel the auto-connect on start-up. Which is why I only give it 4-stars.

But for my purposes, it truly is a P2P supported VPN and not a new redefined acronym for the known acronym of P2P. Normally P2P means Peer-to-Peer for torrent users. But some other VPN claim they have P2P but they redefined it to mean Player-to-Player or Pay-to-Play and no actual torrent support.

I seem to DL just as fast if not weirdly faster using CyberGhost VPN when I am using torrents. On average with my 500Mbps cable connection, I can DL at 100Mbps and weirdly through a CyberGhost I am downloading faster at 120-144Mbps. Weird eh?

Piss poor customer service. Crap vpn. Tried to charge my bank account after i had cancelled subscription. Terrible terrible vpn. Express is waaaay better

Trash! Garbage!

I used Cyberghost for a few years and I had a few little problems here and there but now its just horrible... doesnt connect to the VPN, endless connecting, blocking the normal wifi when completely turned off, not beeing able to update through the App (just closes when you try to update and just doesnt update), losing connection etc.

The CG VPN works okay on all our devices except when using the amazon 4k fire stick. Our speed is decreased by 60 % since day one. All other devices work as advertised in the same location. I ran a speed test with the VPN connected and offline. The CG vpn is not user friendly with an amazon 4k firestick. I live in a city and am speaking for my location. I contacted CG support and a total waste of time, as I covered everything he suggested.

while other VPNs are circumventing China's and Iran's filtering, this app does not even connects when there is nothing to block it. For a few weeks, It was sending me an expired link when I tried to login with an Ipad. On Android? It refuses to work... you heard me right, pressing the connect button does NOTHING... the Only reason that I have paid for this was because it had servers in Iran. the experience is buggy across their systems.

Response times are very fast and accurate.

Easy to use it

CyberGhost works where no other VPN can: honest! I first used a freebie VPN when I was only a few hundred miles from the country I pretended to be in. As I travelled further away, that plain-vanilla VPN ceased working; and as I continued my travels—I travel a lot for my age!—I soon realized I needed a very powerful VPN, and only CyberGhost could meet my needs. That was over five years ago, and CyberGhost continues to meet all my VPN needs!

Easy to configure. Working great. Momentarily only one App from a local store is angry using VPN on my IPhone

Struggled with loss of internet occasionally. I'm not very techy, which probably explains the problem. Stumbled into solutions. Can't describe how:)

I was just automatically locked out of my account. It claims my network connection is not good but I can use the same connection to stream other platforms without issue. This seems like a scam. It starts okay, but locks you out and ther is nothing to do about it. Avoid this app. Don’t waste your money like me.

Had a 2 years subscription for testing. Interface, speed/locations, it's nothing special pretty mid, same you get everywhere. Used it to solve a location based connection issue to a friends MC server.
I'm giving 5 stars cause of the support, and they're really holding onto their refund promise. Took like 2 minutes in 24/7 live support till i had my money back. Just wanted to let you know :)
