Unfortunately I had an identical experience at this shop as a previous reviewer. I had a rear wheel puncture and Cycle Mend was the closest bike shop to me. They replaced the inner tube. By the next morning, less than 12 hours later, the same tyre was completely flat once again.

I brought my bike to a different shop who found a metal shard lodged in my tyre which Cycle Mend had not removed. It had caused both punctures.

I emailed Cycle Mend asking for a refund. They refused, and also lied claiming they had recommended to me that I needed brand new tyres (they hadn't recommended this, and in any case this wouldn't have been necessary if they had simply removed the metal shard). I have now had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get my money.

Crooks and Scammers - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
On w/c 22nd of May 2023 I took my bike to Cycle Mend E1 Bike Shop and Repair because the brakes needed to be fixed. The sales man working there (not sure if he's the owner or just a worker) told me that it would have been ready after the bank holiday, he took my contact details and quoted me £30/35 for the job, he put the bike in the room next to his office (lower ground floor where all the other bikes are) but did not give me a receipt. Time passes by. I don't hear from him. I go back to the shop this afternoon after work (5 pm 05/06/2023), the same guy is at the door. I tell him I'm there to pick up my bike and he responds saying that he hasn't got the bike, he doesn't remember me and that I'm crazy. I ask him to check the CCTV and look for my details on his system but he refuses to cooperate and kicks me out of the shop. I'm obviously in distress and when I burst into tears he starts filming me with his phone and keeps telling me that I'm crazy. I then call the police to report him and while I'm on the phone a bystander who witnessed the whole scene approaches me and tells me that this is not the first time that she sees this happening and explains that she saw other people reporting him for similar incidents before. This man is a crook, a scammers. It's his profession. People go to his shop with the expectation that their bikes will be fixed. The crook acts all kind and helpful but doesn't give you a receipt so you don't have evidence that you left your bike there, he probably sells the bike to someone else on the black market and then when you go back to pick it up he pretends he never saw you and denies that you left your bike there. Crooks like him must be stopped and must be punished for the harm they cause to innocent people. He should be arrested and his business should close down. I don' t care if I will never get my bike back but I don't want other people to fall victim of this scam. Beware and report him if you fall victim of his scam.

I dropped my bike off for a brake service at midday, Zain checked my bike over and quickly discovered the callipers were broken, he replaced these as well as the cables and I had my bike back by 5,30, with the brakes working perfectly. Would definitely recommend and will be back in the future

Great little shop, very friendly staff and thorough service. There was car parking opposite and around the corner so very easy to get to if you're travelling by car also.

Awesome place and very helpful.

The chap with the hat gave me awesome advice about my bike and was incredibly helpful despite being busy.

For my White Fido D2S which I just picked up back today

I ordered an E-bike through Bicycle Land to be delivered here and put together, they were very helpful and assembled the bike, checked everything was tight, and installed the mud guards. He also took the time to show me the controls and everything.

Very friendly and helpful, will come here again when my bike needs servicing!
