Renewal price was a fair bit higher than a new customer on price comparison website but cancellation and taking out new policy was easy enough

I was not happy with the policy being…

I was not happy with the policy being automatically renewed. I was also not happy that I had not received a discount for no claim. When I checked online asking for a new quote I was offered more cover for less money. I questioned this on the chat line and was told that I could not get the lower price. So I cancelled my existing policy and took out a new policy for more cover but £9 less. So much for loyalty to your customer.

To clarify, renewal pricing is governed by regulations that prevent us from charging more than the price an equivalent new customer would receive at the same time. However, new policies can sometimes benefit from introductory or promotional offers that are only available when cover is first taken out.

When a policy renews, it moves onto our standard pricing, which reflects the full cost of cover without any introductory discounts. This can occasionally make the renewal price seem higher, particularly if promotions are available for new customers at that time.

I clicked for a direct debit but it…

I clicked for a direct debit but it took the full payment luckily there was more than enough in the account . I didn't think it was fair to take the whole payment when I asked for direct debit . when asked if it could be changed I would of had to cancel the plan and re do it . and then wait up to 5 days fro a refund .

It looks like the option to set up a credit agreement (direct debit) wasn’t selected during the process, which is why the full payment was taken. I completely understand how this could be frustrating, especially when you intended to spread the cost.

We can still arrange a credit agreement for you. However, to do this, we would need to issue a full refund of the payment that has already been taken and then set up the new plan. Please note that while we process refunds as quickly as possible, we’re unable to control the exact time it takes for the funds to reach your account, and it can take up to 5 working days depending on your bank.

Great cover but I shouldn’t have to…

Great cover but I shouldn’t have to apply for a new policy to avoid the price hike of the renewal. Quoted £221 for the renewal but took out a new policy for £153, with more cover. Love the cover otherwise, just remember to turn off the auto renew!
