Hardship Program & Credit Union-Provided insurance Issue
Message:
I want to share my experience with Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union. During a period of medical hardship, I enrolled in their hardship program and was covered by CUNA insurance (now TruStage) provided by the credit union, which was supposed to protect my account and prevent late reporting.
Despite following all instructions, submitting required documentation, and ensuring communication between my doctor and the insurance company, my account was still reported as late to the credit bureaus.
I have contacted the credit union multiple times, including the CEO and staff, but they have refused to correct the issue. I also filed a complaint with the CFPB and contacted regulators, but no adjustment has been made.
This experience has negatively affected my credit even though I acted responsibly and followed the program. I hope this information helps other consumers and encourages the credit union to properly honor hardship programs and the insurance they provide.
