Did not pay credit card rewards, and will not correct
I have the Bread Cashback card from Comenity. I claimed $76.41 of rewards on my account, to be transferred to my checking account within 10 business days. I noticed after a few weeks that the transfers had not come through. They were cancelled. I contacted customer service, and after 15 minutes of the phone tree and 30 minutes talking to representatives, they had no idea what had happened. They agreed to resubmit the transfer and said it would appear within 48 hours. A week later it has not. Rather than go through the phone thing again, I sent a secure message to which I received a non-answer asking me to please not cancel my account and suggesting I call. I am cancelling my account. They are clearly incompetent or fraudulent, and Citibank DoubleCash card is a valid alternative.

I paid off my Ulta card so I knew I had a zero balance. So, I didn't open last month statement. I just opened this months statement and I have a 9.00 balance. They charged a 3.00 minimum charge for the last 2 mths and another 3.00 for a late charge. I have never been charged for carrying a zero balance on a credit card. When I contacted Ultra to see if they would credit my account for the "overcharge" (my word not Ulta's) they refused to help. Yes, it was only 9.00 but sometimes it's about the point not the money. I also know, I didn't read the 10 pages of small print they provide customer to look over while standing at the register. Oh well, I closed my account and I'll just keep my 3.00 every month.

Opened an Ulta credit card because they offered 20% off of my make up purchase. Paid first statement bill the day it was received. I got a new statement with a late fee of $33.50 claiming my payment was one day late. I called my bank because I was confused. My bank verified that my check arrived in PLENTY of time. BEWARE! Comenity held on to the payment for weeks and deposited late it to make it look like I was one day late to collect the $33.50. After an hour of phone calls, I got it reduced to six dollars but only when I threatened to chop up the card, I filed a complaint with my bank that verified they had sent out the check in plenty of time. I am seeing this is a common complaint that they try to make extra money by claiming your payment was late. Do not and I repeat DO NOT trust this company.
Close any account associating with Comenity Bank - Bread Financials
Be cautious with any store credit card issued by Comenity Bank. The credit card service quality is at the bottom of the bottom. Cheap flimsy plastic card without a built-in chip (World Market Credit Card), super early cut-off time (2 pm PST on due date), no limit on accumulation of late fees and interests if you’re not aware that happens due to the early cut-off time, and rigid, almost rude customer service training (Nichole, if captured correctly. She’s very good at selectively talking over and humiliating customers because she thinks she can just do it to you ). Don’t ever get into business with this bank.
Comenity Bank should respect the due date on the day. A 2-pm PST cut-off time and no cap on accumulated late fees without a further shopping history and balance are unreasonable - is it even lawful? Chase Bank refunds late fees for payments made on the due date, regardless of time zone differences. Comenity Bank, the Bread Financials, should honor the Due Date as the Date in whole.

Comenity manages AAA Visa Signature credit card which is THE WORST CREDIT CARD I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY 50 YEARS OF USING CREDIT CARDS!!! Password never allowed me to access my account online and despite mutiple calls, customer service unable to fix problem. Spoke with supervisor Diana who was actually RUDE TO ME! Terrible experience! AVOID at all costs.
Scummy Credit Card Company
Does not email payment reminders or statements. Missed a payment by 20 minutes and was charged a late fee because they did not inform me that I had a payment or when it was due. You can only find that info on their website, which is frequently down.

Comenity charged me $35 in late fees from a credit card bill for $49 from Michaels. I had waited to see the statement because I returned half of my original $80 purchase to Michaels and I wanted to make sure it was reflected in my new statement.
49.19. the rest was gouging charges for late fees and interest. Comenity bread was willing to reverse $15 worth of the late charges.
I was waiting to pay in order to see that my return came through so I could determine the amount I needed to pay the account off in full.
I did not receive any notice about the return being applied to my credit card bill. They sent me a misleading email Bill 3 days ago saying that a $37 payment was due on November 5th.
Then this morning they called me and they sent texts to tell me that my account was late even though I received the bill 3 days ago.
Community bread seems like an extremely unscrupulous credit card company to be associated with if you care about your reputation.
I would like the extra $18 worth of fees and charges to be subtracted from my account. I do not think that comenity has the integrity to do that.
Mishandling of account suspension and closure; lack of due process; inadequate disclosure
Approximately two months ago, my Comenity Capital Bank credit card was abruptly declined. I subsequently received a letter stating that my account was “suspended due to suspicious activities” and warning that if I did not contact the account recovery team at 888-282-5157, the account would be deleted within 30 days.
I immediately called the number provided. When I asked why my account had been suspended without any prior notification or attempt to verify the activity with me, the representative refused to disclose any details. I was told only that I would have to wait for a letter in the mail containing instructions to restore the account.
Three weeks passed without any correspondence. When I called again, another representative admitted that “the letter must not have been sent” and claimed it would be mailed at that point. Nearly two weeks later, I finally received the instructions. I complied in full, mailing all documents requested.
For weeks afterward, I heard nothing from Comenity. When I called for an update (09/05/2025), I was told my account had been closed and that a letter was “sent yesterday” explaining the closure. When I requested the reason for the closure and the outcome of any investigation into the alleged suspicious activity, I was again refused any information and told to simply wait for the letter and call back.
This conduct is deeply concerning for several reasons:
• Failure of due process: My account was suspended and closed without any meaningful opportunity to confirm or contest the alleged activity.
• Inconsistent and negligent communication: Letters were delayed, never sent, or admitted having been “forgotten.”
• Lack of transparency: No explanation has been provided at any stage, despite repeated requests.
• Potential credit harm: I have no clarity on how this closure will be reported to the credit bureaus. If listed as “closed by creditor,” this will cause unjustified damage to my credit standing.
In my view, this behavior reflects a systemic failure in Comenity Capital Bank’s account management and consumer protection practices. It constitutes unfair and unreasonable treatment of a customer, and raises serious concerns under federal consumer protection standards.

2. Explain why required correspondence was not sent in a timely manner, forcing repeated follow-up calls.
3. Confirm in writing how this account closure is being reported to the credit bureaus, and immediately correct any negative or inaccurate reporting.
4. Guarantee that no fees, penalties, or other adverse actions will be tied to this closure.
5. Issue a formal acknowledgment of mishandling and corrective steps to prevent recurrence.

Comenity closed my account while open with due amounts due to my updating my email address and phone number. The email address is a privacy-focused one, completely legitimate and above-board. The phone number is also completely legitimate and above-board. They gave no reason for their decision that is humanly understandable.

Avoid Dell Pay: Comenity Financing Is a Nightmare
Comenity seemingly used trickery to screw me out of my interest reduction. They did this by making it extremely difficult to get access to my account number to reset my online credentials (I gave up) Then not notifying me by email when an important milestone was not met and I incurred a huge interest charge. Feels predatory.
STUNNING INCOMPETENCE AND/OR BAD FAITH
STUNNING INCOMPETENCE AND/OR BAD FAITH. Comenity cannot or will not handle a simple, timely request to apply cash-back points equal to the balance owed. (Other credit card issuers have done this for decades.) Four requests, verbal and written, have been variously ignored, misunderstood, or evaded for no discernible reason, and spurious interest and fees have been added to the account.
Of course, I will not pay them a cent, and I am wondering where to lodge an effective complaint.
Can't get through the new Payboo application process successfully
I have tried to get a BHPhotoVideo Payboo card through Comenity Bank via the BHPhoto website, and got no reply emails at all from them. Calling the BHPhoto Payboo line - they indicated that I had a credit freeze at one of the 5 credit reporting agencies they use (2 of which I was unaware of before the call). I confirmed that all agencies had temporarily removed my credit freeze (which I normally keep frozen), but still not able to get a card. I have an "excellent" rating, but can't get a card through them.
I had a Payboo card through BH's previous carrier - Synchrony Bank, with no problems...but now can't get the new Payboo card. I was ready to purchase another camera body, but could not, so now, BH doesn't get my purchase, and I am a dissatisfied customer, frustrated, and no camera. Ridiculous.
Total Incompetence and stupidity
Applied for a B+H Payboo card in late summer of 2024. The card was issued, and activated. Didn't initially use it. A month later, the card was suspended, with no explanation offered.
Re-applied for the card in early may of 2025. The same card was sent out, with the same number…the card which had been suspended. Unable to reactivate it. Unable to apply for new card, because the significantly retarded Comenity services alleged that my phone number was not valid. This is a phone number I have had for over 12 years.
Countless hours have been wasted talking to Comenity support on the phone to try and resolve this issue. But no luck. I f inally gave up. They are too stupid, too unprofessional, too incompetent to waste any more of my precious life.
B+H loses too, as they have forfeits me as a customer.
I have been a loyal VS customer for YEARS
I have been a loyal VS customer for YEARS. Always paid my bill on time, even early most months. Last month on the 13th of May, before my due date of the 19th, I was actually paid off my card balance and had a zero balance. On the 25th of May, almost 2 weeks after the posted payment, I have a bill for $26+. I call them to ask why I have that balance, they said it was interest charges. I asked what they are charging interest on when there was a zero balance. They claimed they hold charging interest charges for a month! Seriously?! First of all, that is unethical, second I told them, even if they held the interest charges, once the 24th came around, when they evaluate what the interest charges should be, it still should have been ZERO! There was nothing to charge interest on. I went back and forth for about 20 minutes only to end up getting so frustrated, I told them to cancel my account/card and I wanted nothing to do with them anymore. I didn't want to close my account, but there is no way I will continue to support a company that has such shady behind the scenes practices. I have paid the $26 and hopefully will not get another bill next month for interest on the interest of zero balance. They lost a LOT of business, from a loyal customer over $26 of ridiculous interest charges that had no business being charged. VS, do better. Get an HONEST financing company that doesn't look for wants to still get money from you after you pay your bill off. So, in conclusion, even if you pay off your bill, expect a bill the following month for phantom interest charges, because they will still charge interest on a ZERO balance!
