I have been motivated to always show up and read something new in tech everyday even if its an article or two. The streak has been my motivating factor since I installed the extension.

Great dev dashboard

I have been using daily dot dev for three years now. Great developer dashboard, excellent for global tech news, though the UI is a bit crowded and distracting. The mobile app works well too

great causal dev community

I use daily dev well... daily, for years. I find it really helpful for discovering unknown unknowns and learning something new about software development. Another great aspect is the feeling of belonging to a community. It's really nice to log in to the computer in the morning and be able to read what other developers think about some particular novum in the field, and drop your own comment.

If you have policies like that, you need to make sure everyone gets the same fair treatment.

Everything is perfect about the platform, but the policies are a bit different for different people. Because of that, my posts were not visible to the public. I got a warning not to share paywall content on the platform, even though before that I shared a lot of content that was not paywalled.

The founders are too biased; they can promote whoever they like and ban whoever they don’t like. I was growing here as a creator, and suddenly this happened. If you have policies like that, you need to make sure everyone gets the same fair treatment.

After so many appeals to lift the ban on my account, there was no response. Because of that, I had to delete my account. There you go, my years' worth of work got deleted just like that. Even though I have contributed to the growth of the platform.

Thank you for writing this. Out of respect for your privacy, we won't discuss the specifics of your account in public, but I do want to address the broader point you're raising.

Our content policies apply uniformly to every creator on daily.dev, and that includes how warnings are issued and how account actions are decided. There is no favoritism in that process, and decisions like this are reviewed carefully and never taken lightly. Appeals are read, even when the final answer doesn't change.

We're sorry it ended this way for you, and we wish you well.

From Early Supporter to Locked Out

Every feature I enjoyed ended up behind a paywall. I’ve been a user since day one and really liked the app, but over time you removed features one by one. On top of that, there’s a 5× price increase that was decided internally and never clearly communicated or justified.

Thank you for writing this, and for being with daily.dev from day one. That history matters. I do want to gently clear up a couple of things, because I don't think the full picture is here.

We haven't actually raised the price of Plus. What ended was our early bird promotion, which was always time-limited. Once it expired, standard pricing kicked in. Anyone who reached out to us during that transition got an additional bridge discount, and that offer still stands for you.

On features: with the exception of Custom Feeds, every Plus feature has been part of the paid plan since launch. Custom Feeds did move in, but as part of a significant upgrade. It now runs on real-time compute that has genuine server costs behind it per user, which is why it sits in Plus.

That said, the early bird sunset could have been communicated more clearly on our end, and I take that on the chin. Email us at support@daily.dev and our team will personally make sure you're looked after.

Best Chrome extension I have by far

I was so focused on improving myself, and I wouldn't have reached the pace I had if I didn't have daily.dev to aid me in collecting news and articles manually.

Reading the latest tech trends/news as a Developer is a must, and daily.dev makes it easy for you.

Better than newsletters

I used to subscribe to multiple dev newsletters, but daily.dev replaced them all. Instead of waiting for emails, I get real-time updates on the latest trends. It’s just more efficient.

Must-have extension for developers

This is a must-have extension for developers. With the pace at which tech is changing, as a developer we need to stay updated with the latest tech.
They literally cover so many topics and curate from 1000s of sources. Would strongly recommend it. 99% of the extension is free with an option to upgrade for a very affordable price per month (you can even reimburse from your company budget if there's an option). Oh, they also have a mobile version for those who want to scroll on the go.
