Based on reviews, created with AI

Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers consistently praise the staff for their excellent work and helpfulness, noting their professionalism and ability to understand and elevate design requests. Many people highlight the high quality of the product, particularly the book cover art and formatting, which often exceed expectations and contribute to the success of their books. The service is frequently described as efficient, timely, and responsive, with a smooth user experience that makes the process enjoyable. However, some customers also noted that the copywriting service might involve AI-generated output with limited human oversight and a lack of direct communication with the writer. A few other people felt the design change process was rigid and that the company seemed more focused on quick project completion than on refining the work to ensure full customer satisfaction.

Everything Package with Damonza

I did the Everything Package with Damonza and it was the best investment I made in my self-publishing journey. First they created a stunning cover based off some general ideas I shared, then did all the interior formatting as well as social media graphics. It is a long process, sometimes tedious with lots of revisions, but in the end, the outside and inside of my book look beautiful. Not having to worry about figuring out formatting or designing the cover or social media elements was a huge relief and allowed me to focus on all of the millions of other details of publishing my book. But even more so than the products delivered, my project manager Robynne went above and beyond, holding my hand and helping me navigate the final steps of getting my first book published. She shared her industry knowledge, offered her opinion when I asked for it and encouraged me when I felt overwhelmed. I strongly recommend Damonza for any independent author. It is worth the investment.

I hired Damonza's copywriting service…

I hired Damonza's copywriting service ($195) for title, tagline, blurb, and Amazon copy for my novel-upmarket literary fiction.
I provided detailed excerpts and gave detailed notes on genre, tone, and target audience. After nearly two weeks (and a follow-up from me to get the first draft), the copy that came back contained factual errors, attributing a storyline to my protagonist that belongs to a secondary character. When I flagged this, the team acknowledged that AI tools were used to summarize the manuscript during the ideation process. This was never disclosed upfront.
To be clear: I don't object to AI being used in a professional workflow. The issue is that the copy fundamentally misrepresented my book, the AI use wasn't disclosed until I caught the errors, and the resulting output read like a genre survival thriller when the material is psychological literary fiction. The source material was summarized, not understood.
When I provided detailed feedback on the book's actual themes, structure, and positioning and asked to communicate directly with the copywriter, they declined, offering a Google Doc instead. At that point, I lost confidence in the process and walked away.
I can't speak to their cover design. But if you're considering their copywriting service, know that you may be paying for AI-generated output with limited human oversight, and that the workflow doesn't include direct communication with the writer.

Thank you for sharing this. We take all feedback seriously, and we're sorry the experience didn't meet your expectations.

We want to be transparent about what happened. This was a bespoke arrangement, as copywriting isn't something we offer as a standalone service, and because we received a full manuscript rather than an author synopsis, our copywriter used AI to generate a working summary of the manuscript in order to get started. That summary contained an error: a detail belonging to a secondary character was attributed to the protagonist, and the genre positioning of the output didn't reflect the literary nature of the work. We acknowledged this as soon as it was raised, and we're genuinely sorry it happened. Importantly, the copy itself was written by our human copywriter — AI was only ever used for that initial summarisation step, which in hindsight we should have handled differently by simply asking for a synopsis upfront.

Once you shared your thematic notes and positioning, we had exactly what we needed to get the revision right and were ready to move forward. The one thing we weren't able to offer was direct email access to the copywriter. That's a workflow boundary we maintain across all projects, for reasons of scope and focus. We offered direct commenting access via Google Doc as what we hoped was a workable alternative, as the copywriter would respond directly to any comments on that Google Doc.

We understand that wasn't the process you were looking for, and we respect that. We've since refunded the deposit in full, and the offer to complete the work remains open if you ever wish to revisit it.

We genuinely wish you and the novel well.

My main experience was with Claire

My main experience was with Claire. Every step of the way, she was understanding, helpful, professional and provided qualitative feedback to my questions. I don't know the name of the person who designed my cover, but I was very pleased with the end result and appreciated how my edits were professionally incorporated each time up till the approved final draft.

Fantastic quality and service

I worked with Damonza for the cover design and formatting of my debut novel, Seeker, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish.

From the initial concepts through final delivery, their team was professional, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with. They took the time to understand the tone and direction of the story and translated that into a cover that feels both visually striking and true to the book itself. The final product exceeded my expectations.

On the production side, they handled both ebook and print formatting cleanly and professionally, including helping navigate the nuances between platforms like KDP and IngramSpark. Their communication was clear, timelines were met, and any adjustments I requested were handled quickly and without issue.

What stood out most was how seamless they made the process. As a first-time author, there are a lot of moving parts, and Damonza helped remove a great deal of uncertainty and friction along the way.

I would absolutely recommend them to other authors looking for a high-quality, professional result.

This is my fifth book with Damonza--I couldn't be happier.

This is my fifth book with Damonza. They are consistently over-the-top creative, intuitive, responsive and efficient. They have an uncanny ability to transform my feeble words into a book cover that captures its soul and always exceeds my expectations and my own vision. Their turn-around time is exceptional and always challenges to stay focused on the finish line. Robynne and Damon are the best! I cannot recommend them highly enough. I'm more motivated than ever to get book no. 6 into their pipeline.

Felt Rushed and Not Very Customer-Focused, Frustrating Process

My experience with Damonza was okay, but not as smooth or professional as I expected. Communication could have been better throughout the process, and I often felt like feedback wasn’t fully incorporated, which led to multiple rounds of revisions that could have been avoided.

At times, the process felt a bit too rigid in terms of design changes, rather than focused on making sure the customer was fully satisfied. It also came across like they were more focused on wrapping up the project quickly than really refining the work. There were moments where it felt like the company’s success may have made them a bit less attentive to individual clients.

Because of that, the whole experience ended up being more frustrating than it should have been.
That said, the final product wasn’t bad, and they clearly have experience in what they do. It just didn’t feel as polished, collaborative, or customer-focused as I was expecting.

Overall, not a terrible experience, but unless I really had to, I probably wouldn’t work with them again.

Excellent Covers for Savvy Authors

Damonza are not only excellent graphic designers. They understand the book market, the genres and tropes, and what that means for a cracking cover. Highly recommended for indie authors who understand the importance of a relevant, eye catching cover.

First time author became #1 best seller

When I met Damonza, I was a first-time author with a finished manuscript done in Microsoft Word. The team took my work and presented it in a visually arresting, organized, and neat way. From creating interior files (once I learned that "interior files" meant "all the stuff that goes between the covers") to the covers themselves to the marketing materials, Damonza helped me avoid bad choices, gave me varied options, and elevated my manuscript to something more.

My book launched on a Friday. By Monday, it was a #1 "hot new release" on Amazon in the three categories I selected. The next day, it debuted on the Amazon bestseller list in each of those categories. At #1.

I am delighted I picked Damonza. It was a very pleasant experience.

Damonza is simply exceptional in every way!

The Damonza Team provided exceptional support, perfectly conceptualized and interpreted cover design and art, sharp formatting, and quick, responsive care. Robynne and the Damonza Team always got back with me right away if I contacted them with questions or concerns, and made me feel that I really mattered as one of their clients. I cannot recommend the Damonza Team highly enough, and will be returning for their full spectrum of professional care for my next project.

By far the best I've found

I bought two covers and a formatting package from Damonza and they exceeded my expectations with all three. Especially the covers. I'm picky about these things and I love both of them.

I'll definitely be using them again and again.
