I have worked here for several months. Overall, the platform is simple and direct. The tasks vary in difficulty. My reason for not giving it 5 stars is job offers are often uncertain. I check the... See more

I can't provide a more favourable…
I can't provide a more favourable review at this time because I haven't worked at the company. I have completed the assessment and was informed that we will be in touch if we require your expertise. The waiting game just puts me off.
Unpaid assessment and no communication
I spent a long time completing an *unpaid* assessment for them and then was told to complete a further qualification to start work. The catch is... I can't access the qualification. Whenever I press the link provided, it takes me to a page thanking me for completing the assessment. I've messaged four or five times through the website and email. No response at all. Completely rubbish experience.
Total scam! Total exploitation!
After spending an exorbitant amount of time (50 hours) working for them they decided that they wanted to stiff me out of thousands of dollars. These awful thieves.
I have applied for a long time
I have applied for a long time, and I have not gotten any feedback. My profile is high, and there should be some task I am qualified for. Not getting any response for weeks is quite annoying.

Don't fall for it
Shady. I worked there for 5 months, 40 to 40+ hours a week. I provided high quality work, always had work to do and never had any problems with payment. It was good money for someone who had to have a work from home job due to health issues. They don't give out 1099 forms. They let PayPal do that for them. Shady AF. I had ignored the worker chats under the projects and never interacted there. Yesterday I left a comment that the task would be better if..... blah, blah. Today I was banned from the site. It remains to be seen if I will be paid the over $1200 they owe me. I saw the good reviews, and would have left one myself as late as yesterday, but then they treated me like they have so many other people. If you do decide to give it a whirl, don't question them or make any suggestions. Apparently they don't want to hear it.
Reliable and Selective
Reliable and Selective. This company has a comparative robust screening and onboarding process, but once qualified, there is a lot to do, and the company tends to pay better than its competitors.
But with the good comes the bad. My account was suddenly disabled, and I have yet to receive a reason. It either violated policy (somehow) or I was submitting low quality work (doubtful given the ease and simplicity of the tasks I submitted). Support is completely unresponsive. Actually, support might not exist, because clicking on the support button/link only takes you to... the exact page you're on! Also, I changed my phone number, and when I tried to change my number in my profile, I was required to verify it, but then the system never actually sends the verification code. It just tells me to "try again later."
If you're in, you're pretty golden. Any deviation from that and you're SOL.
You have to accept a very aggressive…
You have to accept a very aggressive NDA with multiple red flags in order to "confirm" your email adress. (Task Confidentiality Agreement and Terms of Use)
You cannot delete your account, unless you first confirm your email adress (accepting the NDA)
Pretty sure this is illegal loophole?
Please resolve and delete my account.
Zero Humans Apparently..
It's all misleading. No one ever responds to messages. EVER. I don't even know that there are humans working with the company, it seems to be an AI project that's been abandoned. It says you can work as a developer, yet it only gives you assessments for language. I qualified as bilingual French, all the same, yet haven't received a project invitation for years, literally. Any time I login, it just says "no projects available." I'm pretty sure the company has gone out of business, but they leave the site up just collecting people's personal data, now, to sell.
Proceed With Caution
Long application process and was never offered any projects to work on. I work as a Data Annotator full-time for almost 3 years. I don't see how I wouldn't qualify. Something seems off with this company.
Problems with payment? Good luck!
Payment for your work goes through PayPal. There is a technical issue when it comes to me receiving my payments (everything is written down correctly), but DataAnnotation refuses to help find a solution to give me the money they owe me.
Data Annotation has an extremely unhelpful support. They take weeks to respond, and when they finally do it's the most unhelpful response you can get. Absolutely do not recommend working for them.
Great work experience
Allows you to work on your own schedule, provides engaging tasks and projects, and fantastic experience working with AI models with a vast variety of goals. Not a scam whatsoever, this platform has been nothing but good for me!
When there were projects to work on I…
When there were projects to work on I never had an issue. Payments are on the spot. I wish I could work on more projects but I there hasn't been any for a long time now.
Flexible, high-paying work ideal for students and skilled freelancers.
Working here has been a great experience for a university student. A typical day involves logging in and choosing from a dashboard of projects, which allows me to work around my class schedule. The work focuses on RLHF and comparing AI responses, so I have learned a huge amount about how LLMs reason and generate text.
Management is 'hands-off,' meaning you are trusted to follow guidelines without constant supervision. The hardest part is maintaining mental focus during long sessions of reading complex text, but the most enjoyable part is the freedom to work whenever I want and the competitive hourly pay compared to similar platforms.
The experience is great
The experience is great, they guide you through the tasks and help get the best out of you!
No support / contact possible, very little work
I have been working for them for several months, but there is very, very little work. Even when they email about rewarded projects, there are 0 tasks. There is no response to Support emails, no response to feedback forms - nothing.
I did get a reminder for the project I was supposed to work on, but was never given any tasks and they never replied to my feedback form and email about the issues.
All in all, it averages out to about 3 to 4 hours a month at the very best, picking up leftovers from other projects.
No support, no reply and no feedback. They treat remote workers like AI bots, to be used when needed and ignored when not needed.
Flexible work with clear tasks and reliable payment
I’ve had a positive experience working with this data annotation and labelling company. The platform provides clear qualification tasks, which helps ensure good task matching based on skills and experience.
Tasks are well structured with clear instructions, making it easy to work efficiently. There are also communication threads available where you can ask questions and get advice from other labellers, which is very helpful.
There’s a good variety of tasks at different difficulty levels and with varying time commitments, which makes it easy to organise your day flexibly. Payment rates are fair for the work involved, and I’ve always received payments reliably and on time.
Overall, it’s a well-organised platform that offers flexibility, clear processes, supportive communication, and dependable payment.
Satisfied
I work as Freelance Linguistic Specialist with DataAnnotation and I never had any major problems with anything. Payments are always on schedule, and the work is well explained.
DataAnnotation Tech - good way to get side income
DataAnnotation Tech is a great place for those looking to generate side income while contributing to the advancement of AI, specifically in the field of Learning Language Models (LLMs). The way this works is that you will be assigned as a project worker by a project coordinator who is mostly from renowned and trusted LLMs platform providers. Projects are available in various sectors, including coding, data annotation, and fluency training.
Before receiving projects, one must complete qualifications to be eligible. However, the frequency of receiving projects is uncertain, and it all depends on the assignment from the project coordinator. Despite this, if you have shown a consistent number of projects submitted, more projects may be allocated for you to work on.
The pay is competitive with other AI training platforms, starting from $20/hour. The payment process is also seamless, using PayPal to transfer the funds.
Working in Dataannotation tech is…
Working in Dataannotation tech is efficient and simple, but the realtionship is a little impersonal.
