I just completed Data Engineering Academy and had a great experience, the application process is extremely helpful and I had a lot of support through the interview process with practice interviews etc. If you are looking to get into data engineering this is a great way to do it. Landed DE role with analyst background, thanks to the coaches/teammates for the help!

When I first considered joining the Data Engineer Academy, it was because I felt very undervalued in my previous role—my skills weren’t being used properly, and I was being underpaid for the work I was doing. One big issue I am facing is with scheduling one on one sessions with the other Data Engineering/ System Design coach. Would have been very helpful if that was responsive and proactive as well.

They provide a great range of courses, and stay with you while you work at your pace. The projects and mock interviews really help build your confidence and competence!

I’ve always wanted to explore the data engineering role, building on my background as a data analyst and scientist. I’ve been in the program for about a month, but since I’m also running my business and traveling, I sometimes struggled to keep up with my tailored schedule. After sharing my concerns about falling behind, my coach was incredibly flexible and reassuring, providing thorough follow-ups that made me feel supported. This has helped me feel more confident and motivated to continue progressing through the program without feeling overwhelmed. From Procrastination to Progress with Data Engineering Academy

I had been self-employed for several years and wanted to return to a more professional role, particularly in the data sciences field. Having followed the rise of Big Data in recent years, my interest grew, and I began attending seminars at various in-person organizations. Activities such as participating in video conferences, engaging in group communications, and using third-party tools like Slack and Zoom—technologies that didn’t exist when I was in school in the 90s—have helped me become familiar with modern workplace practices in the tech field.

Although I have only been enrolled for a couple of months and have yet to experience all the Academy’s offerings—such as mock interviews and résumé reviews—I already feel confident recommending it to others. So far, it is clear that this is not one of those “take-the-money-and-run” programs; it’s a place that invests in its students’ success

Data Engineering Academy is an awesome path to a high paying joyful career focused on your interests and strengths. You'll also get to work with a team responsive to it's progress in real time that improves overtime. I went to Dev Bootcamp in 2016, App Academy in 2018, and Data Engineering Academy is by far better than both. The coaches are professional, know how to code, and how to coach. Data Engineering Academy also sets up interviews for you so all you have to do is follow the curriculum and you'll land your dream job in no time.

While in attendance at Data Engineering Academy, it has been a transformative experience that is doing a good job preparing me to level up my data engineering career and is giving me the confidence to take on FAANG-level interviews. DE Academy has given me extensive practice with concepts like SQL, Data Modeling and AWS just to name a few. Moreover, I've had exceptional mentorship from experts like Afnan. As someone transitioning from a non-technical background, I found the curriculum’s focus on real-world tools like Snowflake, AWS, and the practice problems incredibly practical, while the personalized 1:1 coaching and 24/7 Slack support kept me on track. Afnan’s mentorship was a highlight for me because his ability to explain concepts and clarify complex topics, provided me tailored feedback that felt personal to me and not seen as just another number (i.e. Student ID#1234). Afnan also offered strategic advice to how to prepare for mock interviews which became instrumental for me when building my portfolio. I am confident that once I have completed this program, I will have landed a high-paying Data Engineering role which I sought after when I first began my journey here at DE Academy. All in all, I believe DE Academy’s job placement support, as well as resume reviews and access to a vast recruiter network, made the investment worthwhile, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone serious about data engineering!
