If I could leave zero stars I would. I ordered a Dyson hairdryer on the 17 th of November which still hasn’t arrived. The live chat is just sending text messages which take 24 to 48 hours to get a very generic unhelpful response. Very frustrating and disappointing

She was not only friendly and honest but had an element of secrecy which made me call my wife and say we are buying all the appliances from David Jones. I didn’t see her name badge but when I introduced myself I’m sure she said Shona or Sherona.

Disgusting customer service
I made a special trip to purchase Giorgio Armani face foundation to be served by a lady that was not interested at all in my request just telling me the lady that usually works in this department is away and gave me two samples that she thought might work , no colour match . I asked could she look on the computer what I had previously brought to be told no she doesn’t have access.
So disappointed with the customer service and I will not be returning to David Jones to make my purchase but will go online ( adore) as I will get more help then received in store .
David Jones Sydney Australia is the Best!
It's a really nice fancy departmental store, with most of what you need. Many big international brands through to local designer brands, can be found here. The food hall is large and vast, with many eateries also housing themselves here. The entire mall is connected underground to Westfield side of things, through to the train station.
They do run promotions from time to time, so do look out for those newsletters.
That said, it's more a generic place if you're looking for things, like how a departmental store is supposed to be. If you already know what you're looking for, I'll suggest you go directly to the specialty brand stores elsewhere instead of coming here.

Misleading
I purchased Lancome products at David Jones Online as a part of the free gift promotion. I did not receive the advertised free gift. When I enquired I was told they'd run out. Apparently, it was my bad luck. Despite this, I continued to receive advertisements offering the same free gift package, the one they couldn't supply to me.

I paid an extra $15 for express delivery one week ago and am yet to receive my good or a refund. I am going around in circles with my next stop at Fair Trading. I would never purchase online from David Jones again. It is nothing short of a joke. I am still out of pocket $300!!!

Lack of support from David Jones
We ordered two items from David Jones, a blender and a sandwich press. Nothing too difficult. We paid using vouchers from our wedding gifts, ordered online and excitedly awaited our goods. On the Monday one of the items turned up, the blender for reference sake, but nothing else. After querying both Australia Post and David Jones, we had an immediate response from Australia Post advising that they had delivered one of one item.
By Wednesday David Jones had decided to issue a complaint number, by txt and e-mail no less. Now it's the following Monday and nothing. No follow up, no acknowledgement that they are even looking into the missing item, just crickets.
In a world of increasing online shopping ,and ever increasing online options, it's hard to see how DJ's will be able to complete, if they can't resolve such an obvious error at their end.
As noted, this was using their gift cards, making this even more frustrating that our friends trusted them to deliver a service, and we've had nothing ...
Very frustrating and a sad demise of a previously highly regarded organisation.
Maybe we'll hear something, who knows, trying to contact DJ's seems a futile effort at best :(

What has happened to David Jones???
For over 1 week now I have been trying to get in contact with either the Parramatta or Burwood Stores to speak with a Wedgwood consultant. Absolutely disgraceful. Nobody answers the phone not even when it is transferred back to customer care. I have been left on hold for more than 1 hour at times. Today, right now I am up to nearly 59mins. What happened to customer service? Also, the "Chat function" that you are directed to whilst on hold, does not work. Very disappointed, I ask myself why don't we shop at DJ's much anymore? and I have answered my own question, Customer service has disappeared. Not only on the phone but in store, your staff have no idea on the products they sell, and direct you back to the website or phone. When you get given the run around like this, no wonder stores fail to thrive in these economic times. So disappointed DJ's. Generations of shoppers in our family have dwindled with their support for you with your lack of service.
Weird and Unhelpful
I went to David Jones to see if I can get a good purse. I saw an Oroton purse behind the glass cupboard and asked a staff nearby if I could have a look at it. She told me she only worked for Mimco and continue to arrange her things. Oroton was next to Mimco but no one was around to ask. I thought this weird that staff can't serve you because they are in charge of one particular section. Aren't they David Jones staff? I left and took my business to Myers.

I visited David Jones at Macquarie shopping centre looking for Mother’s Day gift. I was greeted by Kassy who was very cheerful and asked if she can help me with anything. I said to Kassy I was looking for Mother’s Day gift and not sure what to buy? Kassy said (No problems I can definitely help you with that) within a few minutes Kassy found me a beautiful scarf in the accessories area which I was happy with. Then Kassy asked if I needed something else, so I said nice perfume for myself, so Kassy took me to the perfume area and suggested Channel Blue! That was an absolute excellent choice, so I purchased both the scarf and Channel Blue. My shopping experience was outstanding because what Kassy did from start to finish was just perfect. This was truly great customer experience by Kassy, David Jones should be proud to have someone like Kassy looking after their customers. I would give Kassy 5 stars ⭐️ Thank you again Kassy

David Jones are definitely living in the dark ages with online orders. I live in a two Tower complex highrises. I’m Tower one I accidentally typed tower two. I contacted them and there is no way they can update the shipping and they won’t cancel the order, you speak to the Philippines!! I have spent half my day talking to robots via David Jones and Australia Post worst experience ever will never purchased from David Jones online ever again!!!

viewed a leather jacket on their on line store, then tried to ring a nearby store to see if it was in stock. The virtual assistance transfered me to the electrical department, who were apparently unable to transfer me to the clothes department. will take my business elswhere.

Bought a Marc jacobs bag online, they sent the wrong one, numerous phone calls and emails later, post returned the bag to them,
They automatically returned my money, which was good but I wanted the bag, waited 40 mins on hold to ask for the bag, bag is no longer in stock, so because of someone’s incompetence I can’t have the bag. But on the plus side, I have seen the delivery of a $1000 bag, stuffed in a box with paper thrown in, no dust bag or protection around the bag, I won’t be buying an expensive bag from them again,Bad experience and won’t be back anytime soon😘
A STORE I NO LONGER LIKE
They even have trouble sending me my David Jones Amex membership rewards, excuses after excuses, beginning of the year till now, i got ZERO. And they won't let me collect the redemption cards at their store or have a system where u can offset purchases.
This is NOT the David Jones from before. They have ZERO sincerity and service. I won't buy anything from them again anymore...It's less headaches buying from overseas department stores, most of them give free overseas shipping anyway.
Click N Collect poor service
I’ve ordered click n collect and have been waiting in store for 2 hours to collect my product. They said to come back in 40 minutes and it’ll be ready. I come back over an hour later and it is still not ready. They are making me wait for them. Don’t use this service. They didn’t even let me refund the click n collect and simply just buy it off the shelf when I can see the product. Truly appalling! Wasting my time.
