do you believe I have received a pair of boots I am going to wear tomorrow with totally two different colour, one white and one black.
Omg I have loved shopping with David…
Omg I have loved shopping with David jones for over 40 years. Their new phone communication system does my head in. I’m usually very patient. But I have to say David Jones bring back good old fashioned service.
You are missing out on a lot of sales.

Woeful Online Experience - again
You can sometimes expect delivery delays during sales time, but don't blame Australia Post. When I saw my recent DJ order status advising that it was at dispatch i would reasonably read that as " got the stock but not yet sent". When i finally inquired i was told that the manufacturer was being asked to send.... please. My inquiry was given a number, and again no further correspondance. DJ business practices are shameful. I have purchased from far-flung overseas websites with no issues, but in trying to support a local business and buy Australian, we consumers are treated as fools. Sadly this is not the first time this has happened to me with DJ... its actually the 3rd time. I have lived in hope and taken the bait, so maybe they are right... i am a fool. NEVER AGAIN NOW.
Rudest careless Managers at Pacific…
Rudest careless Managers at Pacific Fair store ! You wonder , how much they get paid for such a job! Hardworking staff who seems to carry 3 jobs at ones has no help ! Filthy dirty fitting rooms , severely understaffed floor , messy counters filled with piles of inside out clothes doesn’t make it any better than a downtown Market....
Thumbs down DJ ,,, the name of iconic luxury department store is definitely the joke !
Lee at the Robina store was excellent
Lee at the Robina store was excellent. I had trouble using the website so he took great care to help me buy an item that was in Robina but not in Sydney where I lived and mailed it to me. First rate friendly efficient customer service.
Pricing a bit expensive
I love doing my homewares shopping here, but there prices are a bit expensive. Maybe consider price matching with others such as the good guys to draw in more customers
The worst telephone customer service…
The worst telephone customer service experience ever, (except for Dean, the last person to answer my call). Worse than Telstra, Optus and any utility company I have had to deal with. Liz the 'virtual assistant' does not work and serves no benefit to David Jones. I would think that David Jones would be smarter than this considering that face to face retail is dying and more and more people are shifting to buying online. Such a shame, they were once upon a time a reliable department store.
Money Gone Down The Drain
I ordered a Michael Kors bag last year and it never came. Never ordering anything from David Jones again
Chanel at David Jones detail to service!
I recently purchased a body cream from Chanel online at David Jones. I also bought a different body product from Chanel at Myer.com. When my purchase from David Jones arrived, it was beautifully wrapped and packaged. My Myer purchase looked like it had been thrown in a box! For people who pay attention to detail, this is the level of service that sets the two brands apart. Chanel may be responsible for the wrapping, but my feeling is, it may also be part of David Jones culture to provide that little bit of extra service. Credit where credit is due! Bravo both Chanel and David Jones! When an online purchase is required in the future, I now know who I will be buying from! David Jones!!!
Online order sent to wrong person
I was sent someone elses order, and mine was never sent to me. After waiting 25min for phone service I was told to send all details and photos etc, I did this and heard nothing, I waited 2 days, its Christmas time and these are gifts for my kids, I work full-time, cannot get to a store. I call back, wait another 25min to be told, sorry , nothing we can do but refund. The other service person should have told you. Cannot send you your items. Another person has your items. That's disgraceful. They could have sent my items by express post if they cared. It's 4 days until Christmas. Terrible service.
Unprofessional Chris the David jones kitchen area employee
My mum was served at David Jones Indooroopilly very unprofessionally by a young man named Chris, serving in the kitchen area, and his attitude towards his coworker, my mum and myself was honestly appalling.
Firstly, Coworkers are your colleagues and should be respected as a team, using teamwork, but from Chris, a David jones employee in the kitchen area, treated a fellow coworker, Cheryl, with dismissive behaviour and disrespect right in front of my mum and I’s eyes. I myself would like to think and know that coworkers aren’t getting pushed around by unkind colleagues because someone’s ego was too high.
Secondly, the laziness level from Chris was upfront appalling. I was told by Chris that the placemats that my mum and I were wanting were not able to be gotten as they weren’t unwrapped yet downstairs in the storage place, next day they were unwrapped and a purchaser bought 15 I was told. While I am happy the purchaser received the items I am very unhappy that Chris basically told my mum and I to go away because he was too lazy to go downstairs and grab them. His tone was definitely not helpful either. Not offering to even put them on hold was sadly noted. I came back a couple days later and unfortunately the items were not in stock anywhere across Brisbane because they sold out. When we came in a few days later we saw him when we were checking out, My mum said to him that she felt he said “to just go away” and that’s when he chimed in and rudely talked over my mum. I’m a 14 year old girl and even I know that backchatting is not nice, especially if you are talking to a customer that way. Chris insisted in checking our items out, but because of his rude mannerism and tone my mum said no it’s okay Cheryl, a coworker there, can check us out. Cheryl happily going sure but soon was pushed away by Chris. After many backchats he was so persistent in serving us my mum and I felt uncomfortable. Myself being a 14 year old girl had to politely say “Thank you but no it’s okay we can have a nice chat to Cheryl. We would like her to check us out”. Chris not taking it well took of in a unprofessional way, basically having a tantrum in David Jones. In a professional work space I wouldn’t talk like that to a purchaser and her daughter in that way. Hmmm wouldn’t you think customer service would be nice?
Just gotta say Chris the David Jones employee working in the Kitchen Area should have a talking with the manager as he didn’t come close to greeting a customer with customer service at all and that treating coworkers unkindly is NOT acceptable. His ego was way to high, maybe he should loosen his belt next time. David Jones you should amend this issue. This is not tolerable.
I do want to say that Cheryl deserves a pat on the back for upholding her professionalism in the store. She looked in cupboards and drawers to find items for us with no second thought. Cheryl Thank you for being a lovely server. Again if a manager is seeing this, you should amend this issue and know that a 14 year old daughter has told you about this situation. I would like to have Chris using actual manners, and polite behaviour. Isn’t the customer meant to be treated well.
Had to go to Dept of Fair Trading to…
Had to go to Dept of Fair Trading to get David Jones to provide me with a refund after they cancelled an online order and didn't refund me. Beware of buying "discounted sale items". They don't have stock of many items but still advertise them to bait online shoppers. You will get a cancellation email after you have paid then have to wait for months before you get a refund, if at all. Absolutely disgraceful customer service.
Very bad quality leather
I got this bag as my b'day gift on 2017.for 1 year ther is no complaint.then I realised worst product ever
I purchased an item in the Black Friday…
I purchased an item in the Black Friday sales on line before the stores had opened. I was sent confirmation of my order straightaway, until 24 hours later they send me an email advising they can't fulfill the order. I should have gone in to the store myself because I know the stock was there. DJ's on line service is the most unprofessional useless service I have ever experienced. I rang to put a complaint in because they have my money now and I won't see that for up to five days so I can't purchase this item somewhere else until I get the money back. The person taking the complaint wasn't interested and couldn't wait to get off the phone, wow no wonder DJ's is on the way out. Beware of purchasing on line with this store, they'll take you're money very quickly but have no intention in fulfilling it, I certainly won't be doing that again.
We can't offer more discount we are not Charity! So rude statement
Unpleasant experience at David Jones Chatswood Chase.
We found suitable Sealy Mattress at DJ chatswood. I asked the sales assistant if she can asked her manager whether we can get additional discounts. One of the male staff name Vikram approached us (we tought he is her manager but later on we found out that he was manager from David Jones). We told him we are serious buyer and if we can get additional discounts if we purchased today considering black Friday promo? We are so upset to hear his statement :" No more discount as we are not Charity! I expect David Jones would have a high service standard? We are buyer not ask for donation. We finally finalised our transaction With Ms. Aline and her Manager Ed who from Sealy Mattress who offered better service. What an upset shopping experience at DJ Chatswood.

This morning I went to women’s wear to look for an item of clothing.
Margaret (the ‘assistant’) was rude, disinterested and dismissive.
This is my third visit to this department & every time the customer ‘service’ is appalling.
Very bad customer service & selling…
Very bad customer service & selling faulty perfume & when I went to return it I got a bad attitude from the manager Gemma .I m going to take that to ombudsman.
Rude staff, penalizing customer for promotion
Terrible attitude of staff. I wanted to return some of the items I bought online got sent to 3 different floors to process, ridiculous. The concession areas are the worst for finding products and receiving customer service. This just make me want to stick to online retailers who do free returns. Then I tried to return a $755 dress, and silly customer service person tried to deduct $150 for the gift card I was given for spending over $500, I left the unused giftcard at home & she refused to cancel the card so I could get my full refund! So I have had to now make a second trip into the city to return the dress with gift card. No goodwill for a stupid ill thought out promotion. I will never shop at David Jones again. Trying to breach ACL consumer rights & hiring uneducated, lazy & rude staff.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I found a product that was on sale - when I went to the checkout they told me that the price on the sticker wasn't the actual price of the garment, then suggested that I got a sticker from another product and planted it on the product I wanted to purchase! - After they realised that I was indeed innocent and that it must have been a mistake on their part they just made out a big bunch of excuses and only "apologised for the inconvenience" after I took the matter to their online customer service.
all they needed to say from the beginning was - sorry, one of our stuff must have made a mistake - or something like that!(I am not an unreasonable person. I understand that it could have been a mistake) what really upsets me is that instead, I was made to feel ashamed and guilty when all I wanted was to purchase something from their store.
I never want to shop with them again. I will also make sure my family's David Jones cards are cancelled.
The worst attitude I have ever…
The worst attitude I have ever experienced was last night at Highpoint Victoria in every department I visited.
From sales and customer service perspective It doesn't get worse than staff asking if you need help and then not helping.
Extraordinarily one particularly useless staff member said to a security guard in front of me "if a customer needs help don't call me" in the Mac dept she refused to even open a drawer to look for what I needed.
Suggesting I come back tomorrow while leaning on the display as if I had time while working full-time.
Seriously David Jones this is the reason why your store is doing so badly and your staff have no logical connection between service experience and success, send them to the Mecca store for training
