From knowledge of salesman, surveyor and fitter - trouble free experience - pleasure to deal with.

We are extremely pleased with our extensive kitchen installation and renovation. The fitters were exceptional and had to overcome fitting an oak kitchen into a 1750's barn conversion with old stone barn walls, with lots of uneven surfaces!

We received great customer service throughout the installation process with Barney Bell (Head of Kitchen Operations). The kitchen is now our most favourite room in the house!

We initially approached David Salisbury to replace the timber windows in our house. The experience was so positive that we later chose them to design and install a new kitchen .
Both the windows and the new kitchen have elevated the appearance of house , inside and outside .
The detailing is superb, the finish is flawless and the build quality is outstanding .Working in partnership with Inbyld, our brilliant builders ,the new windows were the perfect starting point to our renovation project .

Having been so impressed with the windows, we felt completely confident moving forward to a new kitchen supplied by David Salisbury. The quality o the cabinetry , materials and finish is exceptional and the attention to detail in every element really shows.

Throughout both projects , the company demonstrated genuine pride in their work and it shows in the final result.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend David Salisbury to anyone considering high quality timber windows or a lovely new kitchen .

We are delighted with our David Salisbury orangery and the process. Eddie Spillane was a pleasure to work with and introduced good ideas both to the orangery design and the integration with a new kitchen/breakfast room that involved moving beams, walls and electricity boards to improve the space. Eddie introduced us to a great builder, John Ward, who did an excellent job dealing with the complexity of the structural changes and worked well with Jason who put up the orangery.

We have had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Eddie Spillane inspired us with his vision and guidance in designing our lovely Orangery and DS fitter Neil did an amazing job and is so friendly. Simon Goldmith of Retro Build coordinated all the building work which was done at a very high standard. We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience.

Our new orangery was handed over yesterday. Up to now we have had very efficient service from the initial meeting with the technical surveyor through to the building team.

We recently totally renovated our new house in London. We engaged David Salisbury to install a new kitchen and new patio doors and windows. We wanted a classic timeless style with high quality wood finish( and beautiful fittings).We had used David Salisbury on renovation of our previous house and knew that they delivered very good quality.The quality of our new installation was if possible higher than before. The whole process from the design phase to the installation was handled extremely well and efficiently and David Salisbury were a pleasure to deal with. We cannot recommend them highly enough

From the initial design consultation, to the end result, we could not be happier, the Orangery is surpassed all our expectations, (and dreams). The build team were so polite and professional, nothing was to much trouble. The materials have blended in so well with our existing house, it looks like the Orangery was always there, perfect in every way.
It has given us the perfect space for the family to enjoy indoor living whilst giving us the connection with the garden.

The team at David Salisbury brought our dream to life. We were absolutely delighted with every step of the process and the final result was stunning.

At each stage from meeting the Designer , Technical Surveyor, Delivery Team, Builders, Plasterers, Electricians and Plumber to the staff in their main Office, the entire Team were professional and efficient.
Their attention to detail and workmanship, was first class and the Team, were very adaptable to unforeseen issues.

I had a kitchen installed by David Salisbury and it is absolutely beautiful. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. I would highly highly recommend using this company. Simon and Barney were both wonderful to deal with throughout the whole process.

We are delighted with our orangery. Nigel listened to what we wanted and delivered a great design. The building of the orangery was extremely efficient. There was an issue with a door handle but this was dealt with quickly.

Our journey with David Salisbury began early in 2023, when we bought two derelict, semi-detached cottages in Bruton, Somerset, with the vision to make these into one home. Our research for a bespoke orangery supplier led us to David Salisbury.

After an initial phone conversation, designer Simon Phipps met us on site to explore our vision. From the very first phone call, it was clear we were dealing with a team that truly understood quality and craftsmanship. Armed with site measurements and photos, Simon presented us with fully rendered images. It was quite an emotional moment, as this was pretty much what we had envisioned. Simon had captured our brief brilliantly and came to the (very untidy) site to share the visuals with us. In a far from ideal scenario (we were literally all crouched in front of Simon’s laptop, balanced on a windowsill), we discussed the outline technical elements for the build, which was reassuring. Compelled by the creativity of the solution and the clear stages/programme of works,
we commissioned David Salisbury to build our orangery. Technical surveys were conducted by Mike Chinn whose ongoing communication with our own builder worked smoothly to integrate to the orangery into the wider programme.

All the windows at the property
needed to be replaced with a vernacular style double glazed design. Through Simon, we learned that DS also make windows, and so requested a quote for these works. Much to our surprise (and delight) the quote was actually more competitive than the 3 tender prices submitted by bidding builders. Based on our experience to date, we commissioned these, and Mike was back to measure and conduct a meticulous survey. Plans were drawn up and we met to review and sign these off; each window being looked at closely on plan and in render. The same, staged planning process and reassuring communication from the team continued.

Finally, having considered many kitchen suppliers including Tom Howley and local expert kitchen designer, a casual questions to Mike regarding recommendations for this, we discovered that DS also builds these - but better – as they are uniquely, and entrirely constructed from solid oak. Enter Jon Brookes, our dedicated kitchen designer with fantastic credentials. Jon listened carefully to our brief, interrogated how we wanted our ideal kitchen to ‘work’ for us and shortly afterwards, presented us with his rendered design. We loved his design commissioned the kitchen. Jon and the team kindly invited us to visit the factory where we gained a deeper understanding of David Salisbury’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and vision.

The installation team is now on site fitting the windows and building the orangery, so our journey with David Salisbury continues. We will report back on the final product when everything has been installed and completed in the following months. But we are confident in saying that the experience we have had as customers so far, has been entirely exceptional and we are grateful to the team, particularly Simon, Mike and Jon.

This was a tricky build, from design, planning (a Grade 2* listed property), foundations onwards.

David Salisbury were involved at the outset and helped with the whole process, including recommending the main building contractor (Simon Goldsmith and team).

We now have a wonderful quality and designed orangery and David Salisbury also supplied the kitchen.

A special shout to Eddie Spillane who held it together all the way through!

Our David Salisbury orangery is a testament to quality and style. The orangery has been custom-made to very precise tolerances, requiring the expertise of a craftsman for installation. Stewart, their fitter, met this requirement with his exceptional skill and craftsmanship which enhanced the final appearance.

Initially David White, David Salisbury’s architectural designer, met with us to assess our initial concept. David is fully familiar with the product and his suggestions for design improvements were invaluable. Within a week, we received his concept design along with an architect’s impression of the orangery’s appearance in our setting once completed. We can confirm that the final installation closely matches the design shown.

Having decided to proceed with the orangery, they undertook a detailed survey to produce the working drawings. These drawings were issued to their suggested builder Stonecross Ltd, although we subsequently had to nominate and engage Stonecross Ltd to undertake the building works prior to the installation.

Reflecting on this arrangement, we hadn’t realised that it had placed the responsibility for the building works and project management entirely on ourselves, which was not our intention. This included coordination and dealings with the piling company and the electrical engineering firm.

Stonecross Ltd is operated by Jon Edgoose, who is also familiar with David Salisbury’s product and therefore appreciated that the building works must adhere to the tolerances specified in the working drawings. Jon proved to be extremely competent and was a pleasure to work with.

Our involvement in project management revealed an issue with the structural engineers’ interpretation at the working drawing stage. This led to the installation of an additional but unnecessary structural beam that did not serve a load-bearing purpose.

This did not affect the project but resulted in additional costs. This issue was promptly and satisfactorily resolved once Karen Bell, the sales and marketing director, became involved in the discussion.

I recently invested in a beautiful orangery and kitchen extension with David Salisbury. It has truly transformed our house and the way that we live. The build quality is amazing and the finish is stunning.

The design team were very accommodating to our requirements and made the necessary tweaks to make the absolute best of the space – particularly to the kitchen island which is now the social hub of the house.

The fitters were superb and really took pride in the product and the standard of their work.

I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending David Salisbury to anyone.

Following on from my 1* review in March 2021:
One of the back doors of my orangery has been faulty for four consecutive years, and annoyingly the lock always fails in the summer. The door fitting was incorrect at the date of installation - because the brick base was not built up when the wood frame was fitted - and each year the lock seemingly slips and fails.
After a 6 week wait DS arrived today to replace the whole lock system, but have sent the wrong locking mechanism and the wrong keys. The door has not been usable since the 20/7/25 and we now have another wait for the correct equipment.
The lovely summer and enjoyment of my orangery has been marred, since walking directly out on to the back patio has not been possible!
The disappointment continues…..Surely DS can prioritise this and do better next time?!

An excellent service and product. At the expensive end of the market, but you get what you pay for. Our project was quite small for DS, but at no point did we feel we got anything less than their full service. Our designer, Eddie, was great, taking the time to fully understand what we were trying to achieve and very happy for us to be actively involved in the design. He was also able to recommend a good and reliable builder (Simon), and a company to hand build a kitchen for a very competitive price. All in all, we’re so glad that we chose David Salisbury, and can honestly say that our orangery/kitchen extension has transformed how we enjoy our house.

Beautiful orangery, very well made and good service. Would highly recommend. Eddie was really helpful in the design process.
