Rubbish, avoid at all costs

Unfortunately caught out by this company, I thought they were based in Wembley only to discover they are in fact in Kowloon, China. Sandals don’t fit, they are cream and not white, as advertised. When I looked into their return policy I discovered I would have to cover the return cost to China, obviously there is no point returning as the refund would be minimal if anything at all. Was not aware of “drop shopping” but will be more careful in the future. DO NOT buy from this retailer.

I bought the Women's Orthopaedic Toe…

I bought the Women's Orthopaedic Toe Ring Wedge Sandals, which I had bought before and unfortunately lost on holiday. They used to be so comfortable for my feet, which are problematic, but this time around the shoes are terrible. They feel so much cheaper, are very painful between the toes and have an awful smell about them that even several washes can't get rid of. I'm so disapppointed. I used to be able to wear them all the time, but theses ones are really awful.

Lovely embossed red linen Dress (NOT)

I have waited 3 weeks for dress which should have been a red linen..I can’t believe what I have received..it looks home made..white stitching no labels..and a cheap nylon fabric…and we have to pay for returns which apparently will cost around £20.. initially it said it was coming from Wembley…it wasn’t until they sent me the tracking number that I realised it was from Hong Kong..I don’t feel I can be bothered with the hassle of returning it..but I suppose that’s what they hope..never again..I’m ashamed to pass it onto a charity shop..I initially paid £30 for a bit of rag
Stay away everyone

Hi June, I'm really sorry to hear about this experience, it's not close to the standard we want to deliver, and the wait on top of it makes it worse.

Please don't let the return process put you off and email us at support@daviesandcooper.com with your order number, and we'll take care of the process.

Thank you for the feedback, we'll be reviewing this closely on our end.

Beware - this is a Drop-Shipper!

Davies & Cooper masquerades as being in Wembley, London when, in fact, it is based in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is what is known as a “Drop-Shipping” storefront that uses a UK virtual address to pretend to be local. Their Wembley address is actually a residential block of apartments – not a shop at all ... it is a ‘front’ to mislead!
The business operates directly from China or Hong Kong and the goods are shipped from there – not from locally in the UK, as their website cunningly misleads.
Two days ago, I placed an order, cancelled it seven minutes later because I had made a mistake, got an email saying they were “currently experiencing a higher volume of messages" ... etc, etc and they would get back to me within 48-72 hours.
The next morning, Davies & Cooper (D&C) sent an email saying the item was ‘on its way’, followed, an hour later, by another, replying to my cancelling one the day before, explaining (inter alia) it had been “... picked up by our shipper” and helpfully pointing out they offer a 1-hour cancellation window after an order is placed! I’ve checked it on their website since – yes, it’s there - in black and white! The last time I checked, there are 60 minutes in an hour, aren’t there?? My cancellation was made 53 minutes within their own time frame!!
I have, of course, pointed this out to D&C. Sadly, but unsurprisingly, they have not replied. I’ve now had a second shipping email and managed to follow the tracking to their supposed shipper. Despite D&C telling me my purchase was on its way, the shipper is saying it “is waiting to be picked up”.
Fibs on fibs!
I’ve reported all of this to Citizens Advice to send it to Trading Standards. My card provider told me about Drop-Shipping and has suspended my payment and is investigating. An AI search has confirmed Drop-Shipping and says “returning items can be difficult and expensive, as you often have to ship them back to an address in China rather than the local Wembley address”. Why are we allowing this form of ‘concealed’ trading to happen – back to the High Street, please!
Online shopping seemed miraculous once – now it’s so often a hidden nightmare! Be very, very careful about dealing with this company.

A shipment from order #1087 is on the way

You really must NOT tell barefaced and provable lies!

You&Yours on BBC Radio 4 has done a programme this very day about drop-shipping companies like yours. Hopefully, as you are breaking the law by pretending to be based in London and shipping from the United Kingdom when, in fact, you operate out of China ... Kowloon, Hong Kong to be exact, justice will catch up with you very soon. In the meantime, the general public of the UK will be on their guard and it was my credit card company who explained what you are and have suspended your payment from my account. As I managed to refuse your cancelled package, Yodel have informed me it is on its way back to you right now ... at your expense. Hope you’re very pleased with yourselves!
FINAL UPDATE 5 July 2026
Yodel informed me the parcel was now returned - Davies & Cooper did not even manage that level of courtesy - their only communication was to say they would not refund me until the parcel was actually in their hands! My payment has been permanently credited back to my account ... I will never forget Davies & Copper but not in a positive way!
A FURTHER UPDATE 17 July 2026
I have just discovered from my credit card that Davies & Cooper, despite having received their returned goods on 30 June 2026 have STILL not refunded me. The refund on my account was done by my credit card and I now have to go through the full proceedure of providing evidence to them in order for the temporary dispute refund to stand. I've just noticed the reply from Davies & Cooper was done on the day they received the returned goods .... note: they did not acknowledge that in their reply! Why does our government allow businesses, who behave like this, trade in the UK?

Hi Dear,

Thank you for the detailed account. Our cancellation policy, as stated on our website, allows cancellations within 1 hour of placing an order. Based on our records, your cancellation request fell outside that 1-hour window, which is why the order proceeded to be shipped.

We understand this is frustrating, and if you'd like us to review the order and timing in more detail, please send your order number to support@daviesandcooper.com.
