Absolutely disgraceful

Absolutely disgraceful. My package was returned on August 1. Till this day I do not received refund, i waited patently as I was asked to wait, according to the agent Steelseries employees working tiredness and do not have time. If your warehouse requires more workers why not hire more people to the company or i just get keep lying by the agent. It is not excuse. I contacted also the UPS and waiting for they response with i’m 100% sure it was delivered back successfully to SteelSeries company warehouse and till this day it was not scanned by warehouse workers accordingly to agent. I suggest people do not mess with this company you will loose a lot of nerves and stress if something will happen and you would like to return package. I’m going to take legal action against this company if I do not receive my refund I asked to speak with suppervisor but was ignored.

poor quality at a premium price

bought a 60% steel series keyboard for £145 as i thought money=quality however the keyboard broke within a month with only minimal use as i use a palm keyboard for gaming not a keyboard first lights started flickering then they went off then keyboard became a desk ornament i also made the mistake of buying the gaming earbuds for £60 and they broke within 2 months with only minimal use. Needless to say i was refunded by currys

Great physical quality. Absolutely shocking software and nonexistent customer service.

I have owned my SteelSeries Apex Pro for a few years now, I also own a SteelSeries Mouse, Mousepad and Headphones. All products have worked great for the few years I have had them, asides from the horrendous software.

The software started out great, no bloatware and not trying to sell me stuff I already own or do not want/need, however that has changed drastically over the years. Now it is clogging my pc full of crappy features that I absolutely do not need, or want.

However, this is not the main issue. SteelSeries suddenly released a new firmware update for my keyboard, the Apex Pro. An extremely premium keyboard, with a pricepoint to match, and as such I expect it to work flawlessly. However this firmware update has broken my keyboard, disabling every feature other than being able to type. And not only that, I can't find any information anywhere on how to fix this issue, and I can't find out how to contact SteelSeries support, since you can no longer make tickets or contact them via phone or email. Their support website just throws you around in circles with links that take you back to the homepage.

What a disgrace.

I used to sing SteelSeries' praise, however they don't deserve any that anymore. How you can you expect customers to pay in the hundreds for products, that you don't support with good quality software at all?

Especially when your competitors provide arguably better physical quality products with much better software to match. Save your money, and go logitech, which is what I will be doing.

*edit no1 for spelling mistakes.

Just brought a new SteelSeries keyboard…

Just brought a new SteelSeries keyboard - big mistake. I wanted to set the constantly flashing lights on my keyboard to a single colour - for this I needed the software. However, the only software offered requires windows 10. According to Steam, around 19% of people use windows 7 alone so this is not great. The gg software for windows 10, which they pretty much insist you install, is considered far from good.

Assuming there must be a solution, I submitted a ticket. Support is terrible and replies take 5 days. They linked some older software, which does not recognise the keyboard, and admitted there is no windows 7 software solution. That's right - the website implies the keyboard is "windows" compatible but this is simply untrue. They know it is untrue and are making no attempt to change it.

Be warned - deliberately deceptive marketing material is not the sign of a good or trustworthy company. Perhaps the name should be StealSeries?
