Inconsistent sizing and they don’t respond to return requests. I’ve purchased several pairs of pants from DD but every 4th pair or so is baggy. I ordered same size, wash and fit but they don't fit the same and there’s no way to return them because they don’t respond.

The extra star is because the jeans that I did actually receive are fantastic and I wear them every day. That just makes me more upset though because I just had to cancel my order as it has been going on a month give or take since I started an exchange from another pair of jeans, which is falsely advertised as made of different materials on the website than what showed up. I was waiting on a pair of the 100% cotton tailored fit like I have now only darker in exchange and I had to cancel because I've been waiting and waiting with vague updates as to what has happened. Only after I canceled the order did they tell me the jeans most likely hadn't even been made yet because they didn't have the materials. I wish I was told that before I had cancelled but what is done is done and the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Mostly because I love these jeans I have and I would have been easily pleased with maybe a discount on my order, something cheap thrown in, anything to get that other pair instead of having to wait on my refund, which I still haven't recieved

Ordered a pair of jeans almost a month ago...these jeans ran small so I submitted an exchange request (for a 1" larger waist) via their website...2 weeks ago...
No answer, despite submitting a second request and a message to their info email.
As their policy is to give an exchange within 30 days, I am going to run out of time.
Their phone number from the website doesn't work...
How does a company like this remain in business?

I have ordered 3 pairs from them. I should have learned my lesson on the first two but I decided to give them another try. It looks like they cut a 36 “ inseam off and that’s that. No tapper looks amateur. Unfortunately I washed the first two but the third will be going back. You got me for two pairs - never again

I ordered the jeans and the pair had one inseam 1/2 longer than the other so I sent them back for an exchange. After I sent several follow up emails trying to get an update they said the bee pair would go out soon. Almost a month later I received a return credit on my credit card. They said that they had an internal accounting software problem they caused the credit as opposed to an exchange. But the credit was short $8.00 for shipping. According to their website if the product is incorrect then there is a full refund. I sent several emails asking about the $8 but Justin in customer service will not respond. This seems to be a reoccurring theme with this company. Their customer service is terrible and they do not live up to the promises they make on their website.

Really sold out when they made the excuse that American Made denim was too tough and ruining their sewing machines. Switched to Mexican made denim and the quality difference is noticably cheaper even though the price went up. No longer a Dearborn Denim customer.

I have purchased several pairs of pants from Dearborn and was very happy at the beginning. Recently though, their quality control has become terrible and their customer responsiveness is even worse. I have purchased the same pant, same material, same pattern, but different colors and half of the recent purchases are sized completely off. They are marked correctly, but are at least 1 to 2 sizes off. This last order I contact them about it...they responded with a lame email that just said "sorry" and refunded my purchase. However, they stuck me with the shipping. I expect if I change my mind or whatever, I should pay the shipping but NOT for their defective merchandise. I have reached out to them 3 times to resolve this and find out why sizes have been so inconsistant but have recieved no response. To add insult to injury, the shipping they aren't refunding me was not supposed to have been charged in the first place. I had used their code for free shipping (from their official email) but they charged me shipping anyway. $7.95 shipping isn't an issue for me in the scheme of things, it's their lack of fixing the problem or at least responding to my concerns. I am sorry to say, I no longer support Dearborn Denim and won't recommend them ever again as they cannot be consistant and are non responsive. Not good for a start up trying to keep a reputation. It's too bad too...I liked thier product and was a good customer.

A few years ago, in late 2018 or early 2019, I saw an unfamiliar store in Hyde Park. Dearborn Denim. The place sold locally made jeans. Now, I had long believed that the quintessential American clothing should be made in the USA, but it had gotten hard to find good but affordable jeans that satisfied that condition. So I walked in. One of the first things I learned was that they would hem the jeans to my actual inseam length, which happens to be a couple inches shorter than 30", which is the shortest length you can buy off-the-shelf.

Today I own half a dozen pairs of their blue jeans, plus a pair in khaki, black, charcoal gray, and cobalt blue (my wife's favorite). I also have several t-shirts, which are well made enough to pair with a Brooks Brothers sportcoat. Additionally I own a couple sweatshirts, boxers, a belt, and three sets of leather coasters that class up the house. Plus a blue Oxford shirt that would set you back two or three times as much if you found it at Nordstrom's—and you'd still think you got a deal.

Is the work flawless? No. There is a straggly thread now and then that needs snipping. And there was an awkward positioning (for short-legged people) of the sixth pocket in their six-pocket jeans (genius idea). But the work is nevertheless brilliant. Especially for a start-up.

I have read the complaints here, and they all seem to come from people who didn't try on a pair of jeans at the store before buying online, or who had service problems (or they didn't seem to realize that the jeans were hemmed to order, thus would naturally have a restocking fee). I have experienced slow delivery once or twice myself, on occasions when I ordered online. The pandemic certainly hasn't helped. And the young company is still working out supply-chain bugs. And some staffing issues, I am sure: while I have never received anything but polite service in the stores, the workers there were not the same quality sales veterans you'd find at Nordstrom's. But give them time.

Overall, though, Dearborn Denim makes excellent products. They make them locally at a fair price and for fair pay. And they seem only to want to get better. So I will absolutely keep coming back for more.

I purchased two pairs of jeans from Dearborn a month ago and really like these jeans a lot, the fit is excellent (31-31s ) I was worried they would shrink but my friend who recommended Dearborn said they wouldn't and thy did not, they have the feel of (or better than) old school levies and there prices are reasonable for what your getting and how and where they are made, needless to say I will many more purchases in the future, and my thanks to all the employees, your making a positive difference in this country keep up the excellent work.

Own 4 pair and 2 belts. And when one pair didn't fit ( different fabric and cut) easy return.

The jeans themselves are pretty good, roughly equivalent to a pair of Levi's. The customer service is horrible though. I needed to make an exchange because their sizes apparently run small, which is fine, but I've been waiting on my exchange for a month and a half now with no response from customer service as to what is going on. As far as I'm concerned it's been a complete waste of money.

I ordered a size 42 waist jean. They delivered a size 40 with the size printed on the inside of the pocket covered from the printed 40 to 42 in pen. I was offered two more exchanges for the exact same size and they all came back in size 40 and they all run EXTREMELY SMALL.

Value - poor: I ordered a pair of jeans for $69 - my usual Lee jeans sell for $30. The material was very light and felt cheap to me vs Lee's denim. It had an extremely obvious defect. Apparently no one looks at these as they package them to ship. The one positive thing is they come in the correct 33" length that Lee does not.

Fit - bad: They fit really badly. They pull down in the back when I sit and bending over is something be embarrassed to do in public. No one wants to be embarrassed by their clothing.

Customer Service - very bad: It's difficult to return using their online system. I assume they make it deliberately difficult since they make it very easy to exchange for a different size. I requested a return twice using their message system and got no reply. I entered a complaint at BBB and I got a reply from Dearborn within an hour. So... letting BBB complaints be your return mechanism is just very very bad customer service. I returned the jeans and they kept trying to immediately respond to BBB (who closes the complaint if I don't respond) and I kept syaing I am waiting on the refund. This is called "gaming the system" this is also very very bad customer service.

I got my refund. I cannot recommend anyone buy from this company.

I ordered a pair of the 13 oz dark denim in 38x32 in tailored fit. First, these aren’t the hard denim of my youth, but come prewashed with a softer feel, not soft, still a little stiff. Previously I had worn all the Levi’s, 501, 503, 511, etc... and these fit so much better, great rise, tapered perfectly narrow, the way I like. The denim is comfortable right out of the package. I plan on wearing these and breaking them in before washing, hoping to set the like a glove feel they now have. Yes I’d buy these again and highly recommend them to my friends.

I ordered my first pair of denim from Dearborn as well as a shirt. So far I am very happy with the fit and quality of the jeans. I found their sizing information more useful than other similar businesses where I've ordered jeans online. I haven't washed my jeans yet so I cannot comment on that but they feel great, fit well, and look nice.

The only oddity was with shipping, but I don't think Dearborn was at fault. I got a tracking number but it was cancelled by USPS shortly after and a new one was not issued. I contacted Dearborn's support and they responded pretty quickly. By that time USPS had actually shipped my order out so it was a moot point.

For made in America jeans, the price is great and so far I like the product.

I actually like the pants. I have a weird size 38/28 and Dearborn actually has them on hand and ready to ship. Yes! I initially bought 38/29s in a couple of different cuts. But settled on 38/28. So, I had an exchange and a return and I was hoping to avoid the $7 returns/restocking fee for the return - so i asked for it to be waived. Ultimately, the support rep I was dealing with gave me one-liner responses on consecutive emails:

- "Sure Darren, that's fine."
- "Much appreciated!"

Trust me when I tell you that my inquiries required more than those one-liners. So, I asked for clarity and got attitude in return. So, I went and found the founder's email address and a few other random employees that were not the rep I was having the exchange with and cc'd them on the thread. Ultimately, the founder agrees that the rep could have been more clear but he stands by the idea that the particular rep provides excellent service - good for Rob and good for his team's morale. Not so good for brand reputation - as i poke around review services, customer service seems to be an issue for Dearborn Denim. And not so good for the bottom line as I'm returning all product and not buying the 10 or so pairs of jeans i was planning on copping (38/28 is a weird size, remember - and I really LIKE them). The person who introduced me to the brand will no longer purchase and neither will the folks I introduced to the brand.

As the company grows, they may want to invest in a customer service professional to run that department. Even in 2020, there are still customers around who prefer a more professional approach when they are interacting with the brand.

These guys produce quality blue jeans made in US using US denim. This is what we need, superior products that were made by people who give a dam. Love my jeans.
