Decision Matters is a dental continuing-education company based in Croatia, founded by Dr. Snježana Pohl, an oral surgeon and periodontist with 30 years of clinical experience and 25+ published clinical papers, including over a decade of published results on her own mIVAN technique. We run hands-on, small-group surgical courses for practicing dentists and oral surgeons who already perform implant or surgical procedures and want to refine their technique, improve aesthetic outcomes, and build confidence in complex cases. Our current courses are MAXI Hybrid (a 4-day intensive covering aesthetic implant surgery and soft-tissue management), Recession Coverage (a 2-day periodontal plastic surgery course), and Surgical Crown Lengthening (a 1-day hands-on course in gingival and bone repositioning). Every course combines evidence-based lectures with live demonstrations and guided hands-on training in small groups, so participants leave with real procedural repetition, not just theory. MAXI Hybrid also includes six months of mentorship after the course, so clinicians have support as they bring new techniques into their own practice. For dentists who want to explore advanced surgical training before committing to a course, we offer a free webinar covering real clinical decision-making in implant and periodontal surgery. All courses are held in Croatia, including on the Island of Krk, combining serious clinical training with a well-organized, all-inclusive experience for the days you're not in the operating room.

Seeking Excellence
It was a truly exceptional course and an experience I will remember for a lifetime. It is rare to find clinicians who combine such a high level of knowledge and skill with the humility and generosity to openly share the finer details of their craft.
The course itself was outstanding, but the whole experience went far beyond education. The warmth of Snježana, her family, and the entire team made the stay in Croatia especially memorable.
James Taylor has a song called “Carolina in My Mind,” and I now understand that feeling whenever I think of Croatia. The landscapes, the atmosphere, and the whole experience have left a lasting impression on me. I enjoyed it so much that we are already planning to return to Krk next year for a vacation and clinical updates.

I spent four days in beautiful Krk, Croatia, for this course. At the beginning, I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but my main goal was to improve and truly ‘conquer’ soft tissue techniques.
Working with Snježana Pohl and her wonderful team of doctors and tutors has really helped me achieve that. The hands-on training and guidance exceeded my expectations and gave me the confidence to bring these techniques back to my practice.

Review Decision Matters course
I didn’t get bored for even five minutes—this course is packed with learning and truly offers a wealth of hands-on experience. I’ve learned so much. Colleagues from all over the world gathered in Croatia, and I’m sure we’ll continue learning from each other. The social side was excellent, and Croatia itself is beautiful!

Par excellence!
This course was completed September 2023, but I know several people who have done it since and the course seems to have improved year on year. There is ongoing support, in person and via a WhatsApp group.
It was a brilliant experience —I both learned a huge amount. I have never before taken part in such a practical and truly useful course. Thank you for the opportunity to visit Croatia and gain so much knowledge. I’m already ready to apply the techniques and share my progress. Snjezana has a wonderful way of teaching, supported by Drs Mia and Lucija, and the social side of the week was so thoughtfully organized. I feel like a gold card member of Decision Matters!

One of the best courses i have attanded
Although I am an experienced oral surgeon and teacher myself, I still benefited greatly from this course. All surgeons with some experience should attend—it offers a huge amount of valuable knowledge. Snježana is always ready to share openly from her expertise and experience.
