Delivered when expected, although the lorry's trolley wasn't able to lift the pallet about 5cm onto the drive. However I've used them many times before and would do so again.

Slate monolith - terrible drilling

Slate monolith arrived un drilled, had to organise it to be recollected then delivered again (we are in Cornwall!) Organised a Wednesday delivery but arrived without warning on Tuesday, where I got a call at work!
A hole had been drilled totally off centre to the top of the monolith and looks very odd, also pieces of slate hanging off and a fresh chunk missing from when it was originally delivered. Complained by email and was told that it had to be drilled there or it may have cracked ( I struggle to believe this, but if this was the case I would expect to have been told this prior to purchase and definitely before drilling) it isn’t even on the nice flat surface that was at the top of the monolith (so it will be hard to fit a water pump as it’s a jagged edge), I don’t think I’ll get any pump that will make it flow over the whole stone, just down one side!.
They have offered to come back and pick it up but as we have a very steep garden which we took ages getting it to the bottom, we have not got the energy to get it back up for yet another pick up.
Total waste of what was nearly £200.
Wish I’d just got the stone and had it professionally drilled by a craftsman not someone on Bob a job week!
I really wish I could post a photo to show just how bad it is.
I definitely would not recommend this company, this was for a 60th birthday present and we had been really looking forward to it. The stone itself was nice, just so disappointing that it had been drilled so unprofessionally.
As the seller says I was offered £20 for the mistake of them sending us drilled, but this meant we had to drag the stone back out and wrap it for pick up I then had to arrange more time off for the redelivery so £20 approx 10% was a joke.
The seller sent an email in reply to my photos of the drilling stating it had to be drilled off centre to stop the stone splitting, but on here they try to make out that nothing was wrong with the drilling? Make up your minds it’s either nothing wrong or you drilled it in the incorrect place to stop it splitting?
Yes you’ve offered to pick it up but you only do roadside pickups and the stone had to be moved down to the bottom of the garden as we don’t have rock storage areas outside the front of our house.
If anyone wants photos of the drilling to prove how bad it was I’d be very pleased to send them!
Due to not being able to download a photo I have changed my profile picture to show the off centre jagged hole they drilled, my keys have been put on top on the centre of the flat piece which would have been ideal for drilling. Please see how off centre and jagged it is!

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately on this occasion, we made a mistake and sent out an undrilled monolith. We apologised and compensated you for your inconvenience. However, from the photos supplied of the drilled monolith, we can see no issue with the position of the hole. Every slate monolith is unique. Each is a natural product and the team is skilled to choose the optimum position for the hole given the contours of the slate feature. (The pump is positioned at the base). The team has been sending out monoliths for over 25 years and we have thousands of happy customers. We did offer to refund you but you refused and have chosen to keep the monolith.

Absolutely terrible service - don’t use!

Absolutely terrible service - do not use! Always read the small print ie they only do curb side deliveries and not inside your drive even if it’s big enough! Driver promised to go and check if they could come on smaller but failed to call back and then it was classed it as ‘refused delivery’… which resulted in me having to pay £40 for another delivery, Website company staff constantly over talking when trying to resolve and provide me no solution. Company looks like they use a third party to deliver so don’t care about customer experience and cost. Avoid this website/company!

Dear Mr Singh Thank you for your review. We do highlight kerbside deliveries in several areas across the website including at the checkout process and we also include a video of the process for cutomers to view. We are sorry you appear to have missed these. Kerbside delivery is a common industry practice and you are correct, we, like many other companies, use third party hauliers to fulfil the thousands of orders we receive every year. Their insurance requirements dictate deliveries are made to kerbside and not onto the customers property to safeguard you against damage and claims. We want happy customers and do all we can to try and help but unfortunately in this situation there is little we can do to change the situation.

Great value and service

A lot of reviews on gravel distributors are negative regarding quality or delivery.

I was conscious of all of the guidelines for delivery, emailed to see how I receive 1 hour timeframe for delivery - they responded promptly.

On the day, I got my phone call 1 hour before, delivery driver was helpful, he delivered and positioned best he could.

Quality was also good, some dust/residue on the gravel, but no more than you should expect, it rinses off.

In summary; good service, good delivery, good quality, and by far the best price

Ordered 4 ton of pola white cobbles

Ordered 4 ton of pola white cobbles.
On the day of delivery we was not at home but my partner spoke to the driver through the ring doorbell and instructed him to leave the stones outside of our property, however on my return home I found the driver had not delivered.
After several emails back and forth to decorative aggregates who advised it would cost £125 +vat for re delivery the next day they contacted the haulage company to establish why the driver had not delivered… his excuse was
“it’s on a slope”
Fair enough we do live on a slight slope but we are 1 bungalow away from the end of our cul-de-sac which is completely on the flat with no cars parked on the road so if he had any common sense he would’ve delivered them there.
I sent pics of my property along with pics of our cul-de-sac and offered to send the ring doorbell footage of the conversation.
Decorative aggregates fought our corner for us and eventually the haulage company agreed to re deliver free of charge.
On the day I was given an estimated time of arrival and took delivery with no problems.
I would like to thank Emily Bloor in particular for her excellent customer service in handling our situation.
The stones themselves are absolutely beautiful and I’m so glad I choose them and choose decorative aggregates

Paid to have a delivery

Paid to have a delivery
Truck got here and decided he could not get down my road (despite many large trucks managing in the past)

Offered a fee of £250 extra to deliver by van
Or a 65 £ returns fee

So I’m about 65£ down.. After putting in my order .. be very careful when ordering as you may end up with no gravel and a bill !!

Not the best start but turned it around

Did not start off well as due to be delivered yesterday, I rang at 11am, Emily was going to call me back, 2 hours later, stull not heard anything. Rang again and spoke to Lucy to be told the pallet had been lost and wouldn't be delivered today. She rearranged delivery the next day, today between 9 and 12. She called me at 9.30am to say will be with me by 11am. Arrived at 10.45am and the delivery driver kindly put the stones in front of my garage. He was very kind. An hour later, stones shifted and ready for the new project to begin. Wasn't the best start but they managed to turn it around. Well done to Lucy for organising the replacement and from being honest with me in the first place.

Short measure - beware

Delivery driver excellent, product good but very, very 'dusty'. However, each pallet (I had five) was fewer than the stated 50, requested a refund for missing 25 bags and was told, 'robotic packing', so couldn't be incorrect! I know it was a wrong! Do not trust.

Good service, but disappointing product.

Ordered two 800 kg bags of Flamengo 20mm Gravel Chips. Delivery was good and driver very helpful. However the gravel was so covered in white powder it looked like the wrong product. Examination found it to be correct, but containing a hugely excessive amount of white powder. It had clearly not been washed. Some dust is inevitable, but this was extreme. Once washed, the product was satisfactory but required a lot of extra work before it could be used.

If I could give it 0 I would

If I could give it 0 I would. Booked and paid extra for delivery today. Phoned at 9.00 am to be told yea it would ve delivered today not to worry and to ring at 11.00 to be given an ETA.
Rang at 11.30, again assured it would be delivered but couldn't get through to the haulier and would ring back. No call and at 3.15 I rang again.
Was told that the pallet I had ordered was to heavy for the vehicle. Sorry, am I mistaken but is this an aggregate company dealing in bulk deliveries, really! So nothing coming today. I can't take delivery tomorrow so have had to cancel, and guess what a 5 working day wait for a refund. Joke company, don't trust any dates you're given

The most high end Purchase that I have made

I have recently purchased some Aggregates from Decorative Aggregates, Polar White Marble Aggregates, they are the best aggregates that I have purchased , the 20 mm Poly Bags are just so high end a Product, they have some beautiful light grey and a very light peachy pink that are the envy of my neighbours, they sparkle beautifully. The Bulk Bag 20 mm Polar White Marble Grey sparkle equally so beautifully, just wished that there were more light grey and light peachy pink! The 10 mm are also an extremely high end product, the colour combination is so fantastic, predominately white with just the right amount of light grey and peachy pink! I highly recommend this company and will be purchasing more in the future, definitely 5 stars from me⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

DO NOT USE!! GO TO GRAVEL MASTER!

I normally use Gravel Master for my projects because they are cheaper, but they couldn't deliver on the day I needed. It was very important that it arrived on time, for the bank holiday weekend So I paid the extra and used these guys. I ordered about £600 worth of stone, and it just never turned up and no one got in touch to let me know!! I called them 10 times, the phone just rang out every time!! I cannot tell you how angry I am it has completely ruined my bank holiday plans!! Horrendous customer care!!!! go to Gravel Master!

I'd avoid if you expect any customer service.....

I'd avoid....

Ordered 800kg of slate chippings, which are pretty much fine, although as you get down the bag there's a LOT of dust and broken up chippings.

It was delivered on the date requested however the driver did not deliver using my very specific instructions of where to put it on our driveway, and as my daughter signed for it they refused to come move it.

He stupidly dumped a pallet with 800kg of material half across a joint pathway to mine and the neighbours front door, and half over the flower bed the slate was going on. So I had no choice but to pay someone to come move the pallet for me so it wasn't obstructing the pathway.
Then once move it revealed as he'd left it half over the paving slabs it's broken one of them.

Called the company to be told it couldn't be moved as it had been signed for, and juat told they are sorry for the driver didn't read the instructions but there's nothing they can do, leaving me stuck with all that material to move.

Emailed them pics of how it had been left and have been totally blanked.

The product the supplied was 'reasonable', their customer service terrible so I'd avoid.

Very pleased with purchase (polar white cobbles 40-80mm), which were great quality. Easy ordering service with very helpful staff. Delivery was very quick with no excessive delivery charge that most firms apply. Delivery driver very courteous. Would definitely use again and will not hesitate to recommend.
