Thank god for Defense Tax Group!!! The IRS sent me a letter stating I owed over 15k and I called them and they reduced my tax debt over 65 percent, their team was professional and caring and took care of all my tax needs!! I had a tax problem which was huge to me as a senior citizen living on a limited income. I had a one-time income boost which was used to pay off some debts. My income didn't have anywhere near enough to pay the tax bill. I called DTP in desperation to see if they would accept me as a small client. Rob Scott politely explained that my amount was not within their range to do any good. He did recommend a step that I could take to get an adjustment on my account. I followed the recommendation and was successful is reducing my burden. It helped me a great deal when I had no way to find a solution otherwise.

Joseph did a great job at helping me out of a big mess.

My ex husband screwed me with back taxes and I spoke with Mr. Walsh who walked me through my options and set up a plan that best suited my needs.

Buyers beware…
I called with tax concerns to the local address phone number in TX yesterday 6/22/2023 and was rerouted to “the home office” in LA, California. I asked specifically for who would handle what with what credentials. I asked the interviewer- Randy- what his credentials were. No answer.
I was emailed a legal contract with two peoples’ names.
I asked who they were. I was told I could do my due diligence. “I will not be giving you the credentials of everyone licensed in this office”. Google search- not lawyers. I literally asked for a lawyer’s name. I called back through a different city office, the local Dallas number 6/23/2023, to see if there was someone to meet in person, and the phone call was redirected to California again, not a real office in Dallas, and spoke with Marcos, who knew I called the day before when he saw my phone number (different phone numbers dialed by me), then was shouted at and ignored. They record all phone calls. They should review this- total ignorance and not listening, patronizing. This is within 18 hours of asking for help.

Bottom line-
The addresses listed online as local are not real. No one is there.
Read the BBB complaints- this is the problem. Delays, non-responding, condescending, unanswered questions about people’s bills and lives- this is terrible service.
Do not contact this company if you expect to work with a real lawyer/real person who cares or responds with the truth or facts, or if you expect to meet anyone in person, know their credentials, or have personal contact with a plan explained. That is what I asked for.

Absolutely do not recommend.

When I told them I would not be working with them and was very disappointed, the response was -
“The feeling is mutual”. Screen shot. All of it.

The person requesting help cannot know who is helping them and their credentials?

Just like another reviewer said, "This company is buying FAKE REVIEWS on Google, Trustpilot, Trustlink, and BBB. Very shady business practices. " Please do yourself a big favor by not calling this company because it's the worst company to find a tax attorney. There is no attorney to speak to, only some workers taking your calls and replying the emails. They are NOT tax attorneys, but they will not hesitate to charge you attorney fees and you will receive no service. I complained about no progress after a month, they did nothing and would not refund me.

I was asked to pay $1500 when I called. Without a consultation with the attorney, Jeff Casperson said I must pay for the case to be evaluated. I paid him and waited for 2 weeks. No one contacted me. I checked with Jeff. He said they were able to confirm the amounts I owed IRS and FTB, and that was it! I already received the notices from IRS and FTB. I didn't need to spend $1500 for someone to VERIFY the amounts I owed. I needed a tax attorney to fight the taxes I did not owe. BTW, the IRS transcript only takes a few minutes to obtain. The so-called "research" they charged me for was an excuse to rip me off. It had no value.

I believed my case was not reviewed at all. I emailed Jeff and he said the tax attorney would get back to me soon. After a few days, I received an email from "Elizabeth Batchelor, Tax Attorney ". She requested some tax information and I replied to her right away with documents she requested. I waited for 2 weeks but she never contacted me again. I searched online and found out "Elizabeth Batchelor" was not a registered attorney at California State Bar. So she was an attorney or not? I asked Jeff to provide her license number but he just ignored me. He said I could hire another law firm if I liked.

How can someone call herself a "tax attorney" without a license? It is fraudulent. Be very careful before you pay. They have no tax attorney to help you. They won't give you a refund.

I felt that everyone was very helpful in solving all my problems. The staff was helpful and courteous. I would recommend this organization to my friends and family. I gave a 5-star rating for their professionalism and sense of urgency to address my concerns.

I highly recommend Defense Tax Partners team to anyone who is experiencing difficulties filing back taxes or is currently fighting IRS debt. They helped me greatly and got me caught up from the last 10 years of tax-related issues. Everyone here is a huge help, especially Elena **, Senior Case Advocate! She stayed on top of my case and communicated clearly, professionally, and didn’t waste any time. She and her team were able to handle everything that needed to be done. They allowed me to make bi-weekly payments out of my paychecks until the payment was complete. It took about a year but IRS accepted my hardship and wiped my debt clean. I was in a complete panic when I received a final notice out of no where from the IRS stating I owed almost 20,000$ in back taxes from which I couldn't figure out the breakdown of these estimates (from side work I had done and improperly reported on turbotax). After personally trying to contact the IRS multiple times (impossible) I didn't know who to turn to. I found this group online, read a few reviews and after my first consultation thought they could be a good group but still moved forward with some nerves. They are THE BEST. I was connected with Suzan who is patient, educated and completely informed on everything I needed to get out of this. She helped with amending my prior tax returns for that year (and set up a plan for the others) and did this quickly while explaining everything is a way I could finally understand. She was able to amend the amount and significantly had it reduced to what I actually owed. I am beyond thankful for her and her team. She has been the light at the end of the tunnel for me to get on top of this and ahead of it moving forward. I cannot say enough great things about her. She was worth every penny and has been the absolute best. I would 100% recommend.

An honest helpful company that took care of me and my family . Each person I dealt With were kind and understanding .

My experience with Defense Tax Group was great. I had a tax issue with the IRS that needed to be resolved and they had some good reviews online, and so that’s who I went with. The enrollment process was a simple phone call, and I talked to a gentleman named Mark, and had a good conversation with him, and then got led to my actual case attorney where I worked directly with to resolve the problem.

2nd part
There were times though where I had to try and phone the same person five times a day and kinda kept record of it. It was like over and over. And some emails weren’t responded to. Some phone called weren’t returned as well. If I were to name one thing that I wish could have been a little bit differently, obviously, the responsiveness to calls or emails. But I'm not one to be picky. Everyone did great and I'm completely satisfied. I was very happy all around with the folks that I worked with and I felt like it was a very smooth process. The resolution that we had in mind was met. And so after some sort of battle, we were able to come up with a resolution with the IRS. And so, I'm in a position now where I consider it resolved. And that’s the important part.

My accountant had made a rather large mistake on my tax returns. I needed help. I called Defense tax to help. They got me in an affordable payment plan and they got the penalties erased. Very glad to have found them.

Talk about a gift . The people here have done everything they said they would and more. I am the happiest man alive. I hope you are not in the mess I was, but if you are these are the people to help you.
