The whole process is pretty straightforward now. When I first started using Delcampe, it took a while to understand how it all worked. I had been used to using another well known online auction site before. Overall, I am very pleased with all my transactions on Delcampe and I expect to keep using it in the future.

The cabinet is great. Very safely and securely packed so arrived in good condition. Speedy delivery and an acceptable price including postage and packing. As the cabinet is sold for collectors I would have liked to have known the height between the shelves but I did a rough calculation dividing the number of shelves into the internal measurement given. The bus models fit nicely without their individual display cases.

Everything went absolutely perfectly! The transaction was fast, smooth, and completely hassle‑free. The item matches the auction description exactly and arrived exceptionally well‑protected. I’m truly delighted with this purchase — thank you so much!

URGENT WARNING AGAINST USING DELCAMPE!

Over Christmas, I intended to bid 51 euro on a lot with Danish stamps. Their system, however, recorded a bid of 515143 euro, i.e. over half a million euro and it did not show me a confirmation screen with that amount! That is extremely scary and could have ruined me financially. I contacted Delcampe's customer service afterwards, but they sent me standard answers, and later when I was not satisfied with this, they send me detailed answers claiming that nothing went wrong.

This is not true. I know what I experienced, so I asked for log-documentation, but they refused to provide this (I am not surprised as I know there was a mistake, so they cannot have the log they claim to have. If they had it, they would/should have provided it). I also desperately tried to cancel and reduce my bid in the last hectic minutes, but that also did not work (see documentation in the screenshot below. I pressed the "Ändern" button many times in the desperate final minutes - but I could not change my bid).

I would have preferred to handle this with decampes customer service directly, so that this glitch could lead to more security for others. However, because the polite but insufficient customer service team do not realize that the event is a serious problem for customers, I feel I need to warn others.

I am very disappointed that what I thought was a serious firm at which I have been a customer for >15 years do not take such an instance seriously and would be willing to talk with me about the experience and to put in safety measures for their customers so that something like this cannot happen again to others.

It will not happen to me again, as I have felt the need to permanently cancel my account at Delcampe.

Thus, my friends: BEWARE! Bidding on Delcampe comes with the risk of ruining you financially!

Excellent service, but all costs transferred to buyers are pinching. Some sellers charge for registered shipping with a tracking number but never provide it. Please make it mandatory for them. Some sellers mention/accept lower/group bids up to 30%. Once the bid is placed, several do not respond. Though mentioned, a few of them never accept a lower bid. Sellers from France and Germany are very helpful and are willing to provide additional information upon request. Some don't care, and some say no, with no further information. At several stores, no precise description of the item for sale is given, making it difficult to decide to buy. Overall, a mixed experience of buying at Delcampe. Ilyas Patel

The interface is clear and easy to use, and almost all the sellers I’ve dealt with accept price offers and are genuinely open to negotiation. Nearly everyone has been reasonable and polite. Yes, I pay a fees for purchase, but I always come out ahead thanks to the ability to negotiate the price and ask for free shipping. In the end, it works out cheaper than if I didn’t pay a fees. That’s why I will definitely continue making purchases, and of course I’ll sell something as well — the conditions for sellers are the best in the world.

I am very satisfied with delcampe.net. The offers are clearly and systematically arranged and it is easy to find the desired items. The bidding and notification system works very well. Information about the sellers is sufficient. Likewise, the payment methods offered are satisfactory and allow immediate payment for the purchased goods. The speed of sending the purchased goods depends on the specific seller and in most cases is very good.

I've never had an issue with this site having purchased dozens of cards to date. Buying and bidding is simple, sellers are helpful and courteous. Sellers are widespread across many countries, increasing chances of finding cards of interest. I've never had a bad experience with the site or sellers. I cannot fault the site.

I find it extremely easy to navigate the website. Paying for my purchases is as easy as. Some great bargains to be found. Shonky sellers are acted on, unlike some other sites.

Delcampe is an excellent and very transparent service. Often the only way to find some items. Changes to the site now make it very clear what the site costs and shipping charges are. This fixes earlier issues when sellers were very arbitrary with shipping charges and payment fees. Well done Delcampe. You are listened to customers and acted appropriately. The final change that should be made is to have sellers use consistent catalogue numbers. It is often very difficult to find specific items.
