My experience with DentCare concerns…

My experience with DentCare concerns accountability and communication rather than the final dental result.

During dental crown treatment in Dharamshala, two of my veneers were handed over to a laboratory associated with DentCare solely for colour comparison purposes, with the understanding that they would later be returned. One veneer was intact, while the other had previously cracked in half. Both were retained by me and entrusted to the laboratory for a specific technical purpose.

Several months later, I was informed that the veneers could not be returned because the employee who had handled them had left the company and could not be traced.

DentCare subsequently offered a 50% discount (Rs 2,500) on a future implant crown. I thanked them for the offer but explained that I did not feel it adequately reflected the loss of the veneers, the time spent pursuing the matter since March, or the inconvenience involved. I also made it clear that I was not seeking cash compensation and instead requested consideration of a full waiver of the implant crown fee as a practical resolution.

I communicated this proposal to DentCare and also informed my treating dentist. Despite further correspondence, I have not yet received a substantive response to my proposal for resolving the matter.

I have confidence in my treating dentist, and my comments relate specifically to DentCare's handling of the missing veneers, the apparent lack of accountability regarding items entrusted to the laboratory, and the subsequent communication.

DentCare presents itself as an organisation operating to international standards. In this instance, however, I expected a higher level of accountability, record-keeping, and customer communication.

I hope DentCare reviews its procedures and communication practices so that similar situations can be avoided in the future. Should DentCare engage further and resolve the matter satisfactorily, I will be happy to update this review accordingly.
