One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve…

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.

I stayed at Living Hotel Das Viktualienmarkt and it was an absolute nightmare.

Our room was infested with hundreds of mosquitoes. I woke up covered in mosquito bites, and my partner — who is a type 1 diabetic — was put at serious health risk because of the bites and lack of sleep. It was completely uninhabitable. The staff acknowledged this has happened before, but still refused to move us to another room that night.

To make things worse:
• The air conditioning didn’t work, so the room stayed hot and muggy the entire night.
• The fridge also wasn’t working, which caused our food and insulin to spoil.
• The room was full of mosquitoes all night and we were forced to sleep through it with no solution from the hotel.

All management offered was a free breakfast and late checkout. That’s it. I followed up via email three separate times, requesting a refund for that night, and they have completely ignored every message. Absolutely no accountability, no care, and no professional response to a clear health hazard they were responsible for.

This hotel has a serious problem with room quality, basic maintenance, and incompetent management. Avoid this place — especially if you value your health, your sleep, or even just basic service.

Lack of respect for their customer and the customers property!.. housekeeping leaving the room unlocked.

Horrible experience with the service and security of the hotel! Just an overall bad experience with the hotel Living Hotel Berlin Mitte.

I will start with the worst part of our stay, but there are more to come.

On Saturday we went down to have breakfast while the housekeeping was, when we got back to our room we looked in the minibar, as our stay included two free beers and waters. Here we discovered that the beers were not there, but we went on with our day thinking they would fill it up later. We locked our door and went to experience Berlin around 11:00 when we got back around 18:00 our door "popped" open without us haven to turn the key and there was beer in the minibar. The housekeeping therefore had not lock our door, so anyone could have gotten in and taken our stuff, which was pure luck that this did not happen. We went down to complaint, which was not at all taken seriously!. We were just told that the housekeeping must have forgotten to lock the door and it wasn't the hotels fault. I talked to three different staff members in the lobby about this matter and they seemed to care even less than the previous one. One even suggested that, if our breakfast had not been included they could have given us a refund for this, but they could not do since it was included in the price we prepaid. I tried explaining to them that it is not a specific amount that we want refunded but just to know that a big mistake, such as leaving our door unlocked and our personal property unsecured, was taken seriously.

When we arrived to the hotel, we asked about parking, as we had found a parking basement with parking places reserved for the hotels guests. We were told just to get a normal ticket and then we would still get the discount. When we needed to leave the parking basement we discovered that you needed a parking card from the hotel, which we of course went to get, only for the hotel clerk to tell us that there was nothing he could, as we should have gotten from the beginning of our stay. We tried explaining that we had asked about this matter when we check-in, but he did not care or try to help resolve this issue. So instead of paying 10 euros pr. day, we had to pay a total of 46 euros for 46 hours of parking.

Furthermore, the hotel room had a bad smell when we arrived and it took about 30 min. to get the worst smell out of the room with open windows. The floor also seemed a bit dirty and they did not fill up on shampoo or toilet paper.

Therefore, we are leaving with the impression that this hotel does not in any way take their customer and the problems, which may arise, seriously. Furthermore, there was the issue with the housekeeping not locking our door after they had been there, leaving it unlocked from 11 til 18.

They have not respect for their customers, so if you want to stay at a hotel with a bad smell, no security and a hotel where you can expect no help or guidance, then this is the perfect hotel for you!

(to be fair we got one small water free of charge)...

horrible service

We had been looking forward for half a year to go to Berlin, but due to a strong storm, ferries did not sail and
we had to postpone the trip at the last minute. While we waited for the storm to pass, I tried 4 times to get in touch
with the hotel, but in vain. We had long since paid for our stay, and only when we asked if we could get a voucher
so we could get going later, we answer, and here said the hotel that we could not. Our money was wasted.
