DeutschlandSIM is a terrible choice

Let's make a quick list with everything that is wrong with DeutschlandSIM:
1) Their standard plans have a three month cancellation period
2) They do not offer EU wide roaming
3) Their prices are equal to plans that incluce EU wide roaming. My new plan has two more GB of mobile data with EU wide roaming. The extra cost of that? 0.01€ more per month
4) When I cancelled my plan they requested that I call them. This is against EU regulation, you do not have to call them. Replying to that email is all that is needed
5) Their app and website is outdated and overall unplesant to use
6) If you want to upgrade your plan, you have to pay a fee

There are no advantages of this service provider. If you value your money and your time, go to someone else.

Not recommended

Buying the sim is easy but good luck cancelling it. I bought a "monthly cancellable" sim and once I was done with it went to their online portal to cancel the contract. I confirmed that I wanted to cancel in the form and I thought that was it.

But no!! They send an email and in there somewhere it says you have to call a number to cancel. Why do I need to call you to cancel my contract if it wasn't necessary when buying? Anyways even when you call to cancel, they will try to push you to buy more plans, more GBs more talk time bla bla.

Also the price is quite expensive if you go over your monthly limits. For my 5.99 eur plan, sometimes I used to pay 10 or even upto 15 euros. I believe if you are over the data limit, they don't throttle the data but automatically extend it and if I am not mistaken there is no way to disable that. So you also need to be careful not to exceed your plan's limit.

Not recommended at all.

Very bad company. I have cancelled my contract in Nov 2019 from online service Welt. But they didn't determine it. And I have to pay one more year.Plz don't take ir

This company is absolutely terrible

This company is absolutely terrible, and they regularly steal money from you. When you confront them, they give you an automated answer, and tell you that without a doub they are "always right".

They've now charged me over €60 for using data in England, when there should be no EU charges at all. I didn't get any SMS informing me of any tariffs. They are liars and thieves.

In the past I've had similar problems, always some strange fee cropping up, and automated answers.

They will not cancel my service…UPDATE, they still STEAL money

They will not cancel my service although I’ve moved back to US and they continue to charge my account. They will not respond to my emails. This company is not responsive - spend your money elsewhere.

UPDATE, this horrible company acknowledged via email they were in receipt of my cancellation request 3 months ago and did not understand why my request wasn’t processed then. SO NOW they want a copy of the cancellation confirmation which they never sent us and they are going to charge us for another full billing cycle why they research the issue. THIS IS A RIP-OFF COMPANY. IT’S A PAY AS YOU GO PHONE and we pulled the SIM cards in June so there has been no activity on these phones in MONTHS. DO NOT BUY SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY.

Worst Customer service

Worst Customer service. No one is speaking English language when asked about it they are saying in Germany you have to speak german and disconnected the call. Actually i was to trying to speak in German even then he disconnected the call without even hearing my response.

Of course, we can understand your anger that we could not help you because of the language barrier. Please note however, that you did not know your hotline password on your last call.
During the order of the contract you have set that password and whenever you want to have informations regarding your contract we have to ask it from you. Otherwise, e are legally not allowed to give you any information.

You are welcome to ask any questions that you currently have so that we can have a look at your request. Please also tell us the days when you have had negative experiences with our telephone support, so that we can forward this to our quality management.

Non-transparent/ expensive fees

The general offer of Deutschland Sim is very good and the general service works very well. However, I am very dissatisfied that I was charged 30 Eur for switching tariffs to PremiumSim (which by the way is also a Drillisch brand - so it actually is rather an intra-company transfer...). This tariff was not communicated transparently in advance, in the AGB it does not mention it explicitly, nor did I see this figure when switching to the other tariff. Add to this the 20-30 Eur charge to pay just to activate the contract (and then again the same cost to activate the PremiumSim contract), I feel robbed.

If I compare this to the UK where I am from, this is a really scammy service. In the UK, activation costs are super low and there certainly are NO costs to change to a different provider unless you have a fixed duration contract. But here with Deutschland Sim, they tell you no fixed contract, which is true, but then they punish you with these switch costs.

I would be very happy with the service if it wasn't for these scammy-looking fees. If I had to make a choice again, I would not choose Deutschland Sim again.
