Absolutely brilliant! I had Chris complete a full renovation on my kitchen and bathroom after seeing his previous work, he was responsive, clean and tidy while completing work on time and to a very high standard. His prices were spot on for the quality of work which was being completed, a pleasure to work with!

For the quick reader: Chris has several VERY NEGATIVE reviews, all showing a similar pattern, for some reason he abandons the projects. I wish I had read the other reviews before risking to hire him. Read the other negative reviews.

Chris did not come and finish the work, even though he said he would by email many times. He has in his possession, for roughly 6 months, material belonging to us and our unfinished kitchen. We tried to contact him several times asking when was he coming back to finish the work, he stopped replying to us ... Our last email was in September, he replied today after seeing this review.
He did not issue the electrical certificate for the electrical works, he didn't finish the underfloor heating, cabinets unfinished, he boxed up our water softener preventing access to it despite the need to replace salt every other week. Cabinets installed at different heights. He charged us for extra work after it was completed and with no previous agreement of the cost, breaching the terms of his own contract.

Average to poor quality, expensive. We have been renovating our house over the last 6 years and had many builders around, this one was by far the worst experience.

As a response to Chris' reply, I'd like to say that I strongly disagree with what he writes.
I have always paid him promptly and there are no invoices left to pay, I don't understand why he would write that when it's so easy to prove him wrong ... We even paid for incomplete work like the electrical installation. Unlike Chris, I have irrefutable proof of everything I wrote, which I will happily share with any potential customers if they still have any doubts at this point.
Lastly, I would like to kindly ask Chris not to post pictures of my kitchen on public websites, pictures that were taken without my or my wife's consent. I also have many pictures that reflect the quality of his work that I do not intend to share online but will do if I have to substantiate my claims.

I recently hired Development London to handle a minor structural project and a full kitchen renovation, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless. The team was professional, efficient, and incredibly detail-oriented. They supplied and installed everything for the kitchen, and the quality of workmanship is outstanding. Communication was clear throughout, and they completed the job on time and within budget. My new kitchen looks amazing, and I highly recommend Chris and his guys for any renovation or construction needs. A 5-star experience all the way!

Chris was brilliant from start to finish. He went out of his way to make sure our extension was finished to the highest standard. The site was always kept brilliantly tidy. When we changed the spec half way through the build, he made sure all costings were gone through and explained to us so there were no nasty surprises at the end of the job! Thanks again Chris, great job!

Totally agree with latest negative review. BEWARE of this builder. We engaged Development London for a large renovation project in Cobham early 2020. Our home was left incomplete, site a mess, many basic building codes not adhered to. After a year, with the last 6 months fighting to get completed, we had to engage lawyers, federation of master builder (who did nothing) & citizens advise. He is still using photos of our renovation as a “completed” job on his Instagram and website - even after our solicitor advised to take them down. Trades he’s employed will slowly stop showing up to work. After informing the federation of master builders of our dispute and sending our breach of contract solicitor letter, He sat outside our home for 20-30mins in his car not responding to our message as to why he was there - all viewed on our cctv.

Edit: We are now being threatened with Legal action to have this truthful review of our experience removed after over a year, and 2 years with no contact from this company.

Project left unfinished. Failed to engage in Federation of Master Builders dispute resolution. Five figure sum of money owed.

I am an Interior architect based in South London who was introduced to Chris Taylor & his team over 3 years ago through a shared client.
We have since been working alongside each other through design and build projects and I can honestly say he is extremely reliable, knowledgeable, hard working, and does a quality job from start to finish of a project.
I have been recommending his build team for my own personal clients who have been extremely grateful with the recommendations going forward.
He has great ideas for design implementation and has strong attention to detail which is personally a great attribute to any builder. I would highly recommend....

I asked DLL to add an extension to my 1940 property around 6 months ago. They were very well priced, plesent and tidy. Chris kept me upto date with the progress of the job throughout and the extra space has been a god send with my expanding family. I would highly recommend the team as they are trustworthy and hardworking and will be asking them back for further jobs in the future.

Awesome service from Chris and his boys. What started out as a damp problem ended up with falling masonry, steel supports and rebuilt doorways - none of it their fault! They did a brilliant job of rebuilding everything for me, tidying up and making my house safe again. Thanks

Chris has done 2 bathrooms for me and has been kind enough to help me with a few smaller projects around my flat. He has introduced me to brilliant people to help finish the jobs to a brilliant standard. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants a trustworthy, hard working and reliable company

Fantastic service from quoting to the finished extension and renovation. Chris and his team worked extremely hard and were very professional unlike some builders we had to look around and quote. He is incredible with his detail which is something we really wanted and liked. Our house looks amazing and we still keep in contact. Wouldn’t trust anyone else.
