I’ve had a good experience with deVere Group.

What I like most is that they actually look at your full situation, not just try to sell you one product. If you’re living abroad, things can get complicated quite quickly with pensions, tax and different regulations, and they seem to understand that side of it well.

Communication has been solid too. It hasn’t just been a one-off conversation, they stay in touch and review things regularly, which I think is important.

Like anything, I’d say it depends on the adviser you’re working with, so it’s worth asking questions and making sure you’re comfortable with the fees and the plan.

Overall though, I’d say it’s been a positive experience and definitely worth speaking to them if you’re an expat trying to make sense of your finances.

Very professional, knowledgeable not only of financial matters but also the legal issues which go with it. Friendly and approachable, so far so very good. Furthermore their "electronic signature" feature works well and is most helpful in today's world where it is not always easy to move from one place to another.

I lost a large amount of money (circa £16k) through Devere Group some years ago (at the time - I understand - they were operating illegally in Oman as our financial advisor fled the country). Basically I was mis-sold a Friends Provident product as I was informed payments could be reduced if needed; but this was not true. Never recovered it.

Be aware and don't trust their advisors. They may just vanish on you out of the country!

It was a pleasure to be guided by our advisor Thomas Schwenke during our first steps with De Vere. He was dedicated, competent and available throughout the whole process.
