I am working on SAT prep and working wtih this program is helping me a lot. I am seeing improvement!

As the first‑born child of immigrants, it has meant a great deal to have guidance from someone who understands this process and has experience navigating it. Applying for research has felt intimidating and uncomfortable for me, but Kathryn’s support, explanations, and tips have made the experience feel much more manageable.

Kathryn is so helpful and kind when explaining this and i never feel put down when i get something wrong she just explains it in a different way. she is also so funny and has a great sense of humor and we can have a laugh but she makes sure we also stay on topic

We are very pleased with the services provided by Emerson and Katelyn at Dewey Smart! They are both extremely kind, professional and caring! Our current tutor is helping our son greatly in honors biology! The 1st halfway of the school our son really struggled in biology and was having a hard time, today he got an A on a quiz they had! Katelyn is very good at explaining concepts and making sure our son understands the material! We are so thankful for Emerson and Katelyn and would highly recommend them to anyone!

Kathryn has been working with my daughter to help her better understand her AP Calculus BC course lecture material and to prepare more confidently going into exams and quizzes. Her teaching style is an excellent fit for my daughter as she explains the concepts and helps her work through problems visually and walks her through the steps thoroughly. She will approach difficult problems from different angles to help gain better understanding. We are grateful to Kathryn as she is helping my daughter gain confidence in herself going into exams and lessons. This is beneficial to her performance and experience in this class.

We had looked into a number of college consulting companies before deciding on Dewey Smart and have been very happy with their service so far. My son was matched with a coach that is extremely knowledgeable in his fields of interest, and scheduling meeting times has been easy and convenient. Emerson is also always available for informal video chats when we are looking for some additional guidance and direction. Overall a wonderful experience with Dewey Smart!

We had a great experience with Dewey Smart during my daughter’s college application process. The team was easy to communicate with and very supportive. My contact person, Sheariah was fantastic, super friendly and always available when I had questions. The tutors were excellent and helped raise my daughter’s SAT scores, with separate tutors for math and English. They were also very flexible with scheduling. My daughter really enjoyed working with them. I highly recommend Dewey Smart to any family looking for help with college admissions or SAT prep.

The SAT prep class was very helpful. We went over struggling areas and it helped me out a lot.

She is absolutely amazing at explaining all concepts in a way that actually makes sense. Before working with her, I would get overwhelmed by multi-step problems, but she breaks everything down carefully and goes over each step one at a time until I fully understand it. She never rushes, and she makes sure I’m confident before moving on.
She has helped me so much in preparing for my exams. She is incredibly kind and patient and creates such a comfortable learning environment. I feel much more prepared and confident going into my AP Chemistry exams. I’m so grateful for all her help!

I enjoy taking lessons with DeweySmart because I am helped with whatever I need. My tutor, Katheryn, is very flexible with different times and she is very helpful with whatever subject/work I throw at her during my lessons. The lessons are also very simple to book and schedule. Dewey Smart does a great job of matching each student with a counselor that fits their needs and interests. My tutor, Kathryn, has exceeded my expectations in both SAT and school tutoring and also college counseling. I truly could not have asked for a better counselor. I’ve been loving my experience with Dewey! The tutors have been extremely kind and helpful helping me study for my SAT’s and exams.

The salespeople are con-artists. They courted us in the beginning and then ghosted us. We are still due sessions and credits that we'll never see again. Their "near -peer" feature is an attempt to differentiate themselves but the tutors we worked with were disasters. They are busy with their college lives and so they were constantly rescheduling and there were no-shows. Dewey brags about having Ivy League tutors. Every service that. Plus, what does it matter if the tutor is at Harvard if they don't show up for the session. My student was trying to take the SAT in August but couldn't get enough sessions scheduled. We even talked to their rep, Emerson, about it and he said it wouldn't be a problem. But then it was. There are a ton of effective tutoring companies. Prep Pros, PrepScholar, Magoosh, Kaplan, Wyzant, Khan Academy. Choose any one of these before you consider Dewey. In the end my student used another service and hit a 1550. He is now going to a Forbes New Ivies.

With Dewy smarts counselors it is so easy to get in touch and schedule meetings. They always help with finding good programs that match my interest and are amazing support all throughout your high school career!

We couldn't be happier with Dewey Smart! Helping our daughter navigate the NYU application process for the Class of 2030 felt overwhelming given their low acceptance rate, but Dewey Smart was a game-changer. They helped her develop a unique 'theme' that connected her extracurriculars to her major at CAS, which really made her application stand out. Dasha, her essay coach, was top-notch. She helped our daughter find her voice without over-editing. Our daughter was accepted Early Decision, and we truly believe Dewey Smart made the difference. Highly recommend for any parent aiming for a top-tier school!

Great experience! Katelyn was very helpful and attentive to my needs. She has kept me up to date and on time with all of my application due dates. I started the college application process feeling very overwhelmed, but with help from someone knowledgeable and responsible I was able to successfully submit my applications.
