I had an exceptional experience working with George Dimov and his team. They were incredibly persistent, thorough, and proactive in helping me file my taxes in a timely manner. Their response times were impressively fast, and any questions I had were met with clear guidance and quick support.
George and his team also caught something my previous CPA completely missed: I had stopped living in DC in 2023, but my employer continued withholding DC taxes in addition to VA taxes after updating my address. The work environment was highly stressful and, in my experience, poorly managed. Communication from leadership often came across as aggressive rather than supportive, and feedback was frequently delivered through public criticism or long calls focused on mistakes rather than solutions. This created a culture of fear rather than learning.
Training was extremely limited. After watching a few recorded videos, employees were expected to perform at a very high level immediately. During peak season, workloads were excessive, with expectations to handle hundreds of tax returns while also taking on responsibilities far beyond the original role. In practice, the position required acting not only as a tax preparer, but also as a bookkeeper, payroll specialist, HR support, recruiter, salesperson, consultant, and administrative assistant, without the structure, staffing, or compensation to match.
There was little recognition for strong performance or revenue contributions. Positive results were largely ignored, while errors, sometimes minor, were emphasized repeatedly and revisited weeks later. This made it difficult to feel valued or motivated, regardless of effort or results.
From the client side, internal disorganization often led to frequent reassignment of accounts. When issues arose, the solution was often refunds, free consultations, or additional promises rather than addressing underlying process problems.
If you are considering working here or hiring this firm, I strongly encourage you to ask detailed questions about training, workload expectations, support structure, and turnover. My experience was overwhelming and unsustainable, and I would not choose to work under these conditions again.

Very complicated tax case
The service they provide is amazing. I have a very complicated tax case as I’m filing both in Italy and the US, I also have a few rental properties and RSUs so it’s as bad as it gets when it comes to taxes… I was struggling big time before I discovered DimovTax, they make it so easy and now I never have to worry about penalties and not filing on time :)

The worst experience
I wish I could leave a zero star review.
My experience with Dimov Tax was excruciatingly painful. I came to them and clearly explained the unique and pressing situation we were facing and they assured me that they would make this a priority and could complete my taxes in a timely manner. Unfortunately over thr last month, I had to continually chase them down to find out who was handling my file, as it kept getting bounced from person to person, and their communication was severely lacking. I was forthcoming with all of our information and gave all responses within the same day in order to move this along as quickly as possible. I was even forced to pay up front, something that I had never done before with any accounting firm, but I did so in the hopes that they were working on the tax return.
After the third time of my file being passed around, I asked to speak with a senior executive. They set up the call and she never contacted me. At this point I have zero confidence in this firm’s ability to handle my file, communicate honestly, and to have the ability to do my taxes correctly. Do yourself a favor and run from this firm.

We understand how frustrating reassignment and shifting timelines can feel, especially when you are working under pressure. That was never our intention, and we regret that this process led to a loss of confidence.
Our team did put work into your file, and we remained prepared to complete and deliver your return promptly. However, once it became clear that you no longer wished to move forward, we respected that decision.
We genuinely wish you the best moving forward and remain committed to improving our internal processes to ensure a smoother experience for all clients.

My experience with Dimov Tax was incredibly smooth and effortless from start to finish. Communication was handled entirely through email and text, which I really appreciated as someone with a busy schedule--being able to review updates and respond on my own time made the whole process feel simple and stress-free.
My taxes weren't very complicated this year, so I'm not sure if that contributed to how easy everything felt, but even so, the team was thorough, organized, and consistently on top of every detail.
