iPhone 14

Hi, I didn't know it was so easy. I got an iPhone 14 from my sister-in-law in Austria, but we didn't know it had a SIM lock. Sending it back wasn't an option—too expensive, or waiting until we went back there. But then I found this site, and it was actually done in no time. They check if the device isn't stolen or lost, and then it goes fast. A few days later, the device was SIM-free. Thank you.

Hi — I’m Charlotte, and I’m really sorry this was your experience.

To investigate and fix this I need your IMEI and order number — without those we can’t find your order. Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can review the case and work with a technician to resolve it quickly.

If the code truly fails after working with our tech, our policy states: "Eligible for Refund: Incorrect Unlocking Code: If, having worked with our technician to get the code to work, and we cannot get the code to work, you'll be refunded."

Please contact Live Support with your IMEI and order details and we’ll get this looked at right away. — Charlotte

DO NOT PURCHASE!

DO NOT PURCHASE!! If there was a 0 star option I would have selected. I paid 24USD for an eligibility check on 28 May 2026 that then sent me to pay $68USD for an unlock. Subsequently they said standard failed now I have refused to pay the additional $174USD for premium and I have requested a refund of my $68USD and inform them that I am not interested in premium. All they keep doing is running me around and still trying to persuade me to purchase premium. I am now going to report them to my bank as a scam and to the UK's national reporting centre for cybercrime and fraud.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry for the frustration here.

I can confirm your Standard Unlock payment of $68 was refunded to your card (order status: Refunded Via Card). Your Eligibility Check payment of $24.99 is non‑refundable — as our Refund Policy states: "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable." Also, per our Terms: "It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for."

We only recommend a Premium Service when a device doesn’t meet the Standard criteria; the terms explain this: "Standard Services which fail and which are not upgraded to Premium Service will be issued with a credit note only." You are not obliged to purchase Premium.

I can do one of three quick things right now — stop any further upgrade prompts and close the case, escalate your complaint to a specialist, or issue a credit note for future use. Which would you prefer?

Again, sorry for the experience — let me know how you’d like me to proceed.
— Charlotte

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry this has been so frustrating.

I can see your order (placed 09 Jun 2026) for a Galaxy S25 on C Spire USA: Eligibility Check £14.99 + Standard Unlock £30. Status: "Reported as Not Unlocked, waiting customer feedback."

Please do one quick check and tell me which happens:

- Put an incompatible SIM in the phone. Does the phone ask for an unlock code?
- If YES, reply with the exact message/error you see and we’ll work with our technician to get the code to work.
- If NO, we can’t complete a code unlock. As our terms warn: "An Android device is only able to be unlocked via a code if the device asks for an unlock code when an incompatible sim card is placed in the device." If it doesn’t ask, "you will instead have to use a Remote USB unlock at additional cost."

Also note: "Eligibility Check: These checks are non‑refundable." and Remote USB is available for Samsung devices ("Remote USB Unlocks are only relevant to Samsung, Motorola, LG and Huawei phones").

Tell me whether the phone prompts for a code or not and I’ll get this moving right away.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry you’ve had this experience.

To investigate we need your IMEI (and order number). In the absence of any reference we cannot address your specific concerns — please use the Live Support on your tracking page so we can locate your order and resolve the double charge / blocked messages.

For transparency, our policy says: "Incorrect Unlocking Code: If, having worked with our technician to get the code to work, and we cannot get the code to work, you'll be refunded." Also note "It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for." Purchases show on statements as "Direct Unlocks."

My concern is very simple.

My concern is very simple.

I paid for a phone unlocking service and my phone was not unlocked.

Instead of completing the service, I was told that additional payments were required. When I declined to pay more money, I was issued with a credit note that I have no intention of using.

From my perspective, I paid for a service that was never delivered. I do not want store credit and I do not want to purchase any further services. A credit note for a service I will never use is not a satisfactory resolution.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry this has been frustrating.

Our terms explain why you were issued a credit note for a Standard service that failed: "Standard Services which fail and which are not upgraded to Premium Service will be issued with a credit note only" (T&C 7.8). By contrast, "Premium Services which fail - both your Standard and Premium payments will be fully refunded back to your card if it is not possible to unlock your device having tried Premium Service" (T&C 7.9).

We don’t have your IMEI or order reference on file here, and without that we can’t investigate or confirm whether a Premium attempt was possible. Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page and provide your IMEI/order number so we can review and escalate this for you. (Note also: "Wrong IMEI: No refund if the provided IMEI is incorrect" — Refund Policy.)

If you’d rather, paste your order number and IMEI here and I’ll make sure it’s prioritized.

Hi — Charlotte here. Sorry this has left you feeling ripped off; I can explain what's happened.

Our Terms explain that an initial payment can be for an eligibility check or standard submission and “there may be an additional price to pay for the sim unlock itself” — and “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.” (Terms 7.3 & 2.1). Also, “If your handset doesn't ask for an unlock code prior to payment... you will instead have to use a Remote USB unlock at additional cost.” (Terms 7.4).

If you’d like me to review your specific order and charges I’ll need your IMEI — without that we can’t find your order. Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page or reply with the IMEI and I’ll investigate and help sort this out.

Fraud

I made a payment of $120 for an iPhone unlock service, but the service has not been delivered even after 7 days. My phone is still SIM locked. The company used misleading progress updates and false claims about processing with Apple. I have contacted the merchant but no resolution was provided. I want to raise a dispute and request a chargeback for this transaction.

Hi — I’m Charlotte, sorry this has been stressful. I can see your order (placed 25 May 2026) with three payments: Network Check $6.99, Eligibility Check $24.99 and Standard Unlock $87.

Your order status shows: "Doesn't meet standard network unlocking criteria. Premium service is required at a price of $174.00." The next step is to "initiate the payment via your Tracking page." Please do that if you want us to continue.

To be clear on refunds: our policy states "Premium Services which fail - both your Standard and Premium payments will be fully refunded back to your card if it is not possible to unlock your device having tried Premium Service." Also note "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable."

If you’d rather not pay immediately, I can escalate this to our technicians for a review before you proceed — reply and I’ll do that. Please avoid filing a chargeback while we try to resolve this.

Hello

Hello. Direct Unlocks also deceived me. I ordered an iPhone unlock. They charged me three times: first $7, then $25, then $60. After 24 hours, they said it didn’t work and that I needed to wait another 7 days. If it still doesn’t work after that, they said I would need to purchase a Premium service, which would be a fourth payment — and I refused to pay it.

Hi — I’m really sorry this has been stressful. I can’t look up or correct charges without your order details and IMEI — please send your IMEI and order number or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can investigate.

A couple of notes from our terms that explain what likely happened:
- “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.” (Terms 2.1)
- “If your phone requires an upgrade (e.g., from Standard to Premium Service), any initial payments are non‑refundable.” (Refund Policy — Not Eligible for Refund)

If you do choose Premium and it’s tried but still fails, “Premium Services which fail - both your Standard and Premium payments will be fully refunded back to your card” — so if that becomes relevant we can follow up.

Please share your IMEI and order ID or open Live Support on your tracking page and I’ll get this sorted. — Charlotte

Unclear pricing, no unlock code, refund ignored, then asked for more money

Less than 1 star if possible.

Very disappointing and concerning experience with DirectUnlocks.

I paid £14.99 first for an “eligibility check” for my Huawei P30 locked to Vodafone UK. Then I was asked to pay another £30.00 for the actual unlocking service. After waiting and asking for a refund because the phone was not unlocked within the expected time, I was told the order was “99% complete” and that I should wait.

A few hours later, instead of receiving an unlock code or a refund, I received another message saying Vodafone had rejected the unlock request and that they now needed an additional £40.00 for a “premium service” directly from Huawei.

So in my case, the price went from £14.99, to £30.00, and then suddenly another £40.00 was requested. That would make the total £84.99, and still no unlock code was provided.

The whole process was unclear from the beginning. The confirmation emails were sent in raw HTML format, practically unreadable for a normal customer. The payment structure was not clear, the service was not delivered as expected, and when I requested a refund, I did not receive it. Instead, I was asked to pay even more money.

This experience raises serious red flags for me. It felt misleading, confusing, and extremely poor from a customer service point of view.

I would not recommend this company. Be very careful before paying, because in my experience the initial price was not the final price, the phone was not unlocked, and my refund request was ignored.

Hi — I’m really sorry this has been so frustrating and confusing.

To confirm what happened on our side: your order from 30 May 2026 shows the £30 Standard Unlock was refunded to your card (status: “Refunded Via Card”), and the £14.99 Eligibility Check payment remains with us. As our policy states, “Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable,” and “If your phone requires an upgrade (e.g., from Standard to Premium Service), any initial payments are non‑refundable.” I’m quoting those parts so everything is clear.

The Vodafone response shows your Huawei P30 needs official Huawei codes (a Premium service), which is why the additional charge was requested. If you want us to proceed with the Huawei (premium) unlock now, reply and I’ll get the upgrade started and resend clear, readable instructions/updates. If you’d rather not proceed, we’ll close the order as refunded for the standard service.

Again, I’m sorry for the poor experience — tell me which option you prefer and I’ll move it on straight away.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry this feels like a surprise; I understand the frustration.

Your order shows you’ve paid €22.99 for the Eligibility Check and are awaiting the unlocking payment of €44.00 to complete the CAT S22 Flip unlock: "Only paid for Eligibility Check, awaiting Unlocking Payment of €44.00." Please note the Eligibility Check is non-refundable: "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable." Also our terms state: "It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for. Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order."

The Eligibility Check can show an extra unlock fee is required — once you pay the €44.00 we’ll proceed. To continue, please initiate the unlocking payment via your Tracking page. You can also see other customers’ experiences here: https://directunlocks.com/unlock-t-mobile#review_section

If you want, I can walk you through the Tracking page or check your order details — what would you like me to do next?

To investigate I need your IMEI (we can’t find your order without it). Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page for the fastest resolution or reply here with your IMEI and order reference and I’ll chase it up.
