DirecTV is horrible
I set up for DirecTV and they made me sign in for a long-term contract which their competitors don't. Their service is shoddy at best I get buffering that I never got with YouTube or Fubo. The DirecTV streaming service is actually probably the worst one I've ever used.

Poor Service
Avoid switching to DirecTV at an AT&T store based on promises alone! We made the switch only because they assured us we'd have access to all NBA games, especially Golden State Warriors matchups. Unfortunately, this turned out to be false, as the required add-ons weren't included. Even with the add-ons, some games are still unavailable for streaming in our area. We never faced such issues with Comcast Xfinity and may have to return to them. Additionally, what you're told online and in-store often contradicts—it's clear that they're not aligned on their information or policies.
Very Disappointed with DirecTV
Direc TV is very slow in our area.Many times are no show their channel when weather is cloudy even in good weather.Customer service are not good . I definitely would not recommend it.

Direct TV owned by AT&T customer service sucks, it is the worst service ever. Once signed up you are on your own. The only way to get their attention is quit paying your bill. You will be sorry if you join Direct TV
Very Rude Staff in Customer Service.
I called regarding a new customer service. The technician came out and looked around and said he's no longer able to climb roofs and would cancel the service. A month later they took money out of my bank for start up service. The customer service department is very rude. They told me only they can disconnect service when I told them the technician told me he would do it. Shame on Direct TV and the call centers they use, Poor customer service.
Excellent Help-line assistance
We had to replace our hand control, which had become dysfunctional, due to age. Christian answered our hotline call last night. He patiently tried to work me through steps for resetting/reconfiguring our DirectTV receiver. But (having mild dementia), in my frustration, I was too confused to succeed. We thus scheduled a home visit instead. But this afternoon, Christian called back to see if I might want to try one more time. With clear and detailed instruction, plus and most welcomed calm and patient approach, he/we succeeded in fixing the problem.
Christian's knowledge and (above all) kind patience is incredible. He is to be highly commended. D W Wilson
LIES LIES and more LIES dishonest company
Returned customer as of 12/2024 was promise a $300 DirecTV visa reward card which was a lie. Nothing that a headache and multiple phone calls to found out DirecTV is not honoring what was I was told when I signed up. Charged double the amount the first and 2nd month. Not the 2yr price guarantee that I was offered. Definitely will be looking for a different company to switch to.

We were told that Max would be a part of the basic package and that we would also have access because we were AT&T customers. Since we thought we would be receiving the same channels for less money, we switched from Spectrum to Direct TV and an AT&T bundle for internet, phone, and cable. However, we do not have the same channels and MAX was not part of the package. Double check and get it in writing before you switch. The switch took a five hour process on the phone as well as another few hours of workmen at our home. Not worth the change.
Disappointed in Direct TV
Disappointed in Direct TV. They hooked us up with the genie and said this would take care of both TVs. As it turned out, it did not. When I called back, they said I would have to lease another genie for the bedroom.
Let's not forget you are setting it up on your own. When we called for help, they said if you can't do it, call Greek Square for the installation. They will install it for you. Wow!
Then, after a month of dealing with them, we decided this was not for us. Never told us we had only 14 days to terminate service. Never said this upfront. After talking to a rep. and explaining what had been going on for over a month, we were told the termination fee was $440, but not to worry, they would waive all fees. She transferred me to the loyalty dept, which said oh NO, we can't waive the fee; you don't have a good enough reason.
STAY AWAY, They take advantage of seniors, for sure.
Very trouble service
Very trouble service. I can't even record anything cause it would either skip or not even record at all cause of loss of signal and it would say watch in low raise and I had called to make an appointment to get it fixed and I had made the appointment today 8am to 12pm and nobody even showed up then I get a call saying that we won't be able to make it and I would have to reschedule this is the 3rd time this has happened to me. This company is very unsatisfying.
Totally useless customer service
I was paying them monthly insurance fees to get my equipment covered. One of my boxes was not working so I called and they came and replaced it under the insurance fees I pay. Later I found out that they had added 2 years of contract to my account. I contacted them and they acknowledge that that was a mistake. I asked them to remove it from my account. They said once they place a contract on an account it cannot be removed. I spoke to their supervisor who said the same thing. I requested them to send me an email or a text message or a letter to acknowledge that the contract was placed incorrectly and is null and void. They said they could not do that. They said they would note the account so in the future if I want to cancel I won't be charged for early termination. I then asked them to just cancel my account. Throughout this whole ordeal I have been on the phone for almost 2 hours. Once I got to there cancellation department they put me on hold for another 30 minutes just to tell me that the previous agent had forgotten to log out of my account and let the account is locked and that they could not do anything at that time, for me to call back. Horrible, deceiving, crooks. Had I not accidentally found out about the contract they put on my account., I would have been on the hook for 2 years of services. I will cancel my services with them forever one day or another and we'll find a complaint with FCC and department of consumer affairs.
unauthorized charges for packages
I had a terrible experience with DIRECTV due to unauthorized charges for packages I never requested. When I noticed the extra charges on , I immediately contacted customer service to dispute them. However, despite multiple calls, they refused to issue a refund, claiming the charges were valid—even though I never agreed to them.
This is completely unacceptable! Charging customers for services they did not request is deceptive and unethical. Be very careful with this company—they add charges without consent and refuse to take responsibility. I do not recommend DIRECTV to anyone looking for honest and transparent service.

Worst customer service of any company I ever dealt with! Their CEO's should look at all the thousands of bad reviews and do something about it. If you dispute a charge even if you are right, their MO is to sell your bill and info to a Collection Agency. Once that is done your credit score will take a 100 point plus hit and there in nothing you can do about it. If you do not believe this google Direct TV and Collections. Lots of people have experienced the same as me. I have had 820+ credit scores for over 20 years. But due to a bogus charge that I proved was erroneous and my Credit Card company agreed, they did just that.

I did not know that I am committed to a 2 year contract with Direct TV, until I spoke to them after I had already signed on with ATT
Also I was supposed to able to have my direct TV and my ATT phone bill merged and direct tv told me no.. and I get a separate bill from them.

Keep loosing signal
Keep loosing signal. Have strong wifi in the house but television keeps loosing the signal and error message says streaming problems?? Just had installed 1/23/2025 and not happy with not being able to view television on our schedule because of the intermittent loss of programing on a daily basis since the installed. Am under a 2 year contract and once it is over, I will go elsewhere. I would not recommend DirecTV to anyone for any reason. This is my second time using them and will be last. If could give a MINUS 5 stars that would be too nice

I cancelled direct tv today. They were super high pressure. She even said she did not want cancellation to cause a divorce. What the 🤬kind of psychological 🐂 💩!!! She also said that I will get equipment instructions after Feb 28th just incase it causes problems at home.
