Inept? No expiration reminder

Certainly a good and effective service if one is pro-active.

It is quite beyond me why they appear to intentionally fail to send an email or text reminder when the card is about to expire. An elderly family member was recently caught out and had to pay an extraordinary amount on the train to replace her on-line purchased ticket when the collector noticed her card was 2 days out of date.

I intentionally let mine run out - and, of course, no reminder received -
Gross ineptitude or what?
