I've been using the app to manage all my local and external storage. The scan's are fast, and MFT access is available on drives in the latest update. Can't wait to use this to catalog my NAS, and servers.

Found out about DiscoverFile from mate and decided to check it out. Spent around 30min on the free version before grabbing the paid because this tool is amazing! Being able to scan and look at what files are on all my hard drives, usbs and microSDs even when they're unplugged is such a great feature. And the speed... holy moley... no longer dealing with the windows search function having an existential crisis before attending my search is a balm to my soul.
I did some research and it seems like its just one guy or gal developing the tool and from the time since I've bought it they've continued to add feature after feature. Definitely worth a pickup, the free version has no trial and contains all the functionality of the paid version, its just limited to two hard drives which is more than enough for most people.

I've been using DiscoverFile for a few months now, and it's seriously made dealing with my pile of drives way less painful. I've got about 10 external ones full of old photos, videos, backups, and random junk, plus 4 internals in my rig, and before this I'd waste ages plugging stuff in just to run Windows search—which is slow as hell and misses things half the time. DiscoverFile indexes everything once, then lets me search super fast across all of them, even when drives are sitting unplugged in a drawer. It's way quicker and more capable than File Explorer, plus I love the geo-location part—pulling up that GPS map with all my tagged photos clustered together is actually kinda fun and super useful for remembering where shots were taken.
The batch moving and queuing is probably my favorite thing though. I can grab files from different drives, throw them into a queue for moving or copying, and if a drive isn't connected it just waits patiently. Plug it back in later and bam, it picks up right where it left off—no redoing everything manually. Handles batches across drives at once without choking, and nothing gets lost or messed up. For someone like me juggling externals all the time, it's a game-changer. Grabbed the Pro version after the free one hooked me—totally worth it.
