First of all – personal trainer course is not that easy. Never in my life did I expect it will require so much effort. Now that I done it I feel like I’ve really earned my diploma. My knowledge now goes well beyond of what you will learn from reading stuff online or watching videos on You Tube.



The course itself was very intensive. I did it in Heston, West London. I wish venue was closer to my place as travelling to and from the venue using public transport is not something I’m a big fan of. Good thing about using public transport is that you can actually study when on the bus. And believe me – there will be a lot of information to digest. Which is great – especially, if like me, you are serious about your career in fitness.

Heston venue is basically a David Lloyd’s health club – most of our practical stuff was performed inside their huge commercial gym so you really get to experience what being PT will be about. There is a café in the venue so no need to bring your lunch. I guess our lunch break could be longer but then again there is so much going on you don’t have time to get bored or tired.

My tutor, Tom, was very knowledgeable. It has to take a lot to become someone who actually trains trainers. Tom did everything I would expect from a good teacher – he made the course interesting and hard concepts easier to digest.

Overall very good course. Well worth the money you pay. Good tutor, good venue, solid qualifications. These were some great 5 weeks.

I already had a Level 2 qualification but wanted to try a different company, as the last one was not great. Discovery Learning was recommended by a friend and having looked at dozens of providers Discovery seemed to be a good option. The sales staff were great, answering all my questions and they didn’t push me to buy.
My course was in Birmingham and my tutor Rob delivered the course making its content easy to understand and really interesting. I had a feeling of fully comprehending course content not just memorising it for the sake of passing exams. Good stuff all the way. Whist stressful, I passed my exams by a strong margin and most of the people on the course passed first time too. As a bonus I got three additional courses (Kettlebells, indoor Cycling and Circuit Training). Couldn’t ask for more – great experience all the way from booking the course to graduating. Highly recommended.

I’ve managed to pass my Level 2 Gym instructor thanks to Andreas who really took his time to explain things to me properly. Andreas was my tutor at Manchester academy.

I’m really fit and despite not being a native English speaker I communicate well. Yet, I was afraid that I will fail my exams to due to a poor grasp of biology. I had a problem studying this subject in my native country and I thought this fact would prevent me from becoming fitness instructor I always wanted to become. Andreas, who I understand is not a native himself, has a talent to explain biology (like anatomy and physiology) aspects in really simple words so even someone like me could understand it. The practical part was a breeze. I liked a course a lot. The only thing I regret was not signing up for the course 2 or 3 years ago when I first started to think about it seriously. But now I got my certificate and I’m happy.

I completed my level 2 fitness instructor and level 3 personal trainer online with Discovery Learning.

The coursebooks are OK. It seems like they've been written by someone whose first language is not English, as the writing style needs some work to make it easier to digest and there are loads of spelling mistakes.

The online theory tests were good, but they use a 3rd party system so that explains it. Good system though all the same.

I originally was in contact with a guy called Luke who was very helpful and answered straight away. I was in contact with him all the way through my level 2.

From Level 3 he seemed to leave and I was in contact with others. Their response time was totally unacceptable. They seemed very confused and never seemed to know what parts of the course I had and hadn't completed. Booking in for the practical exam was a tough process. Took a good couple of months to get it booked in and when I turned up for it the examiners didn't know I was going to be doing the fitness test in addition to level 3 practical exam. Very disappointing.

It took about 2 months or more to get my level 2 cert. I kept pushing for it.

Overall I wasn't very impressed with the service in the end and I would say they are very poorly organised. I think they are on the cheaper side if you do the online course and I just wanted to get the certification as I knew all of the theory from other courses I had studied before. If you were doing this with no knowledge I'm not sure it would be very well put together to learn it properly.

The teaching course are ok, few members of their staff know things but for the rest very lazy, they just put in the gym and say "practice" without showing anything. Mark, one of our teachers, was actually the only one that was showing exercise. Student support useless and very slow, took 3 months to get my results.
I think there are better school, don't let your self be tricked by the well made website.

I did the Level 2 Health Related Exercise for Children Course. The tutors were helpful and I enjoyed the content of the course - a good mix of practical and theoretical. I hope to do more courses with discovery learning in the future.

I attended the first aid course, I thought the teachers were great and very helpful to relate to examples you may be exposed to. Would recommend the course to others.

I have undertaken the First Aid at Work course provided by Discovery Learning. I found the course to be very useful and the tutor was friendly, informative and open to answering any questions. I hope to attend more Discovery Learning Courses in the future.

The courses online, where easy to access and covered the information I needed within the course.

Discovery Learning have been great for the courses I have done with them. The home study element has helped me to learn around my other commitments and the student support team are always on hand if you have any questions.
The course instructors on the study days really know their stuff and help you to relate the theory in to practice with their vast experience.
I am looking at undertaking more courses with Discovery Learning in the future.

Discovery Learnings part time PT course was absolutely excellent. I was able to learn the course and take most of the assessments close to home and the support I received from Adam Snoad was excellent. I found a particular area of the course difficult and he was able to support and offer revision techniques that proved to be successful. Strongly recommend

The course content and delivery was great and the tutors delievered the course well and they helped out quickly when i needed extra advice. would definetly reccommend them as a course provider.

Where im not sure was with the delay of the certificates and perhaps more choice of courses needed in the cardiff area.

There was support if you persever. In the past I had called up for help with my course and received an email with some attitude added, i have however been told that individual has left the company. Shame as the rest of the customer service wasn't actually that bad, it's just blatantly obvious the staff are over worked and can't cope with the workload. Shame as its a valuable service but needs so much work.

Excellent training in child weight management for our new staff.

I have used Discovery Learning for a variety of Level 2 and 3 courses and have received excellent student support before and after attending the training days. The instructors leading the courses are very knowledgeable and their relaxed style of delivery definitely helped my learning and enjoyment of the courses. I am already thinking of enrolling on another one!

I've completed quite a few of the Discovery Courses including, Level 4 Obesity and Diabetes Management, Level 3 Exercise Referral, Level 3 Pilates, plus a few more. All the courses were structured well and suited my style of learning,

I like that there are opportunities for home study which I can fit in in my own time. The course leaders were all very inspiring and have enjoyed applying what I have learnt in my job and encouraging other colleagues to sign up for Discovery Courses.

I plan to do some more courses with Discovery in due course.

I have done several courses with Discovery Learning, including Childhood Obesity Prevention, Level 4 Diabetes & Obesity Management and Level 2 Health Related Exercise for Children.

The courses are well run from sales to completion. Leaders are motivating and are fully supportive throughout. Student support helped with any problems I had during private study time.

I would recommend Discovery Learning courses and CPD, the courses have helped to progress further in my career.

I attended the REPs Level 2 and 3 courses in Birmingham as well as 3 CPD courses. All instructors were knowledgeable on all subjects covered and had a very relaxed approach. The facilities were great and I felt that I gained the knowledge to pass all exams and practical tests with confidence. When phoning up to book courses staff were very helpful also.

Loved my course with Discovery, had an enjoyable time learning and met some amazing people on the way. The team are very helpful and give great guidance on the course and future options, I recommend them highly!

The course was good, the instructor was knowledgeable and had various methods in explaining tricky subjects.

Although after completing and passing the course they have failed to send me my certificates. After chasing it up I still haven't received my paper certificates only the electronic copys.
