DL Gas and maintenance have a great…

DL Gas and maintenance have a great team and do great, professional and detailed work. We were having trouble with a very old boiler that needed replacing, they replaced it and have set up the full new system very professionally and at a great price. They even helped us out when we decided to stop trying to fix the old boiler and replace it, by reducing some outstanding payments we owed them from repairs for the old boiler.

I had a brilliant experience with DL…

I had a brilliant experience with DL gas when I found myself with a gas leak. Donovan came out promptly, troubleshooted the issue and made several solutions. He implemented the agreed re-routing to a high standard and persisted despite several unexpected obstacles. Clear communication throughout from him and manager Leysan. Would definitely recommend.

Unprofessional, Overpriced, and Scammy

We called this company out after hours on a Friday to fix a faulty valve on our HIU. They charged a £200 after-hours call-out fee, which we paid, expecting the issue to be properly resolved. The engineer was in the property for less than 10 minutes, did a temporary fix, and left.

By the next day, the heating failed again.

When we contacted them to come back and fix the issue they supposedly repaired, they demanded another call-out fee just to “assess” the same problem — and then quoted us £500 to fix a faulty valve.

Being charged twice for the same unresolved issue, plus an inflated repair quote, felt completely unprofessional, dishonest, and like a scam. No customer should have to pay repeatedly for a problem that was never fixed properly in the first place.

Avoid this company if you want transparent pricing, genuine repairs, or professional service.

It is rather unfortunate to hear your comments describing us as (scammers), especially as we did everything possible to assist your tenant promptly and was very transparent with you regarding our out-of-hours call-out.

Ergo, allow us to provide clarity for anyone reading:

You contacted us on a Friday night requesting an urgent visit due to loss of heating. We clearly explained that the out-of-hours diagnosis fee was £200, and also advised that if you preferred to wait until the following morning, the standard £100p/h diagnosis fee would apply. You chose to proceed with the out-of-hours visit, and this was fully agreed before attendance. We will provide additional information to Trustpilot to illustrate our correspondence.

As agreed, our engineer attended the property and diagnosed the issue, identifying that both motorised valves had failed, meaning the motors no longer opened automatically.

As a temporary solution, he manually opened the valves so your tenants would have heating overnight until replacement parts could be fitted. This was fully explained over the phone at the time, and you confirmed you were happy with this temporary measure.

The next morning, the heating stopped again. As a result, the engineer video-called the tenants to check if the motorised valves were closed again, however they were still opened. In addition, during that call, we noticed the HIU cover had been removed and the tenants had been attempting to check internal components themselves. Because they are not qualified engineers and we cannot verify what was done, it was not possible to confirm remotely whether the same issue had reoccurred or whether a new fault had developed.

As with any heating or HIU system, if a new or unrelated issue presents itself, a new diagnosis is required. We also made it clear that if the problem was caused again by the motorised valves, there would be no second diagnosis fee. Any additional charge would only apply if a separate fault had developed within the HIU.

You were also provided with the price for the replacement of two motorised valves (not one), and we offered to deduct the standard £100 diagnosis fee off the final job price. Furthermore, the additional amount of £400 reflects the cost of labour for replacing both valves, not an “inflated” quote as you suggested.

We appreciate how frustrating heating issues can be, particularly when they occur outside of normal hours. However, we always act with transparency, follow industry-standard processes, and prioritise getting our customers’ systems up and running as quickly and as safely as possible.

This is reflected in the many 5-star reviews and service award we are grateful to have received. It is important to note that no one has ever been disappointed with our services much more to describe us as scammers.

Nonetheless, we are open to discuss the situation directly if you would like further clarification.

For the sake of transparency, we will also be providing our correspondence with you to Trustpilot as part of our record, to demonstrate clearly that there was no wrongdoing or “scam” involved from our side.

A huge thank you to Donovan and Leysan…

A huge thank you to Donovan and Leysan who replaced our boiler! We had Donovan over a few weeks ago to fix a leak and we discovered that our boiler was a goner and needed replacing. Donovan did a heating survey and we then walked through best options for our house, then we got everything started! Donovan is such a lovely person and not only ensured that we understood the best option to go with, but also gave us valuable advice on efficient, cost-effective heating. Leyson was very highly organised and made sure that the process was moved along at a good pace. Thank you so much, Donovan and Leysan, we will definitely be seeing you again!

Boiler issues

The engineer- Donavan who came to fix the boiler did an amazing job! Very happy with the whole work and he explained and educated us about the work. Cooperated really well and did the work within time.
Also DL gas is an amazing company to get your job done. They keep constant communication and try to sort out your problem as soon as they can.
Would highly recommend them!

Excellent service from Donovan who…

Excellent service from Donovan who really went above and beyond. Came out to repair my boiler on the day I called. He was extremely thorough, resolved the issue and also serviced the boiler even though British Gas had carried out a service a month ago.
Highlighted a further issue which needed resolving at a later date.
He kept me informed regarding the time he was due to arrive and answered messages promptly.
He was friendly, courteous.
He made sure everything was working before leaving.
Donovan was recommended to me and I would have no hesitation doing the same.

So lucky to have such wonderful professionals in our area

Extremely reliable and came through for us in an emergency.

We had a contractors mishap which meant that our gas had to be capped off on the same day, we contacted Don and he was with us within a couple of hours. He did a fantastic job, very diligent, thorough and was also kind enough to talk us curious selves through the process! He also did a full boiler service check for us at the same time which was amazing!
Would recommend in a heartbeat! So lucky to have such wonderful professionals in our area!

I would like to say that I've just had…

I would like to say that I've just had a complete central heating system installed by DL Gas and Maintenance. I cannot praise them enough. I dreaded it being done, but it was great. Donovan went above and beyond to help me find the perfect radiators. Donovan was polite, courteous and very knowledgeable.
I would like to say what a splendid service I received, I had no hot water and Donovan visited very quickly, an efficient job was carried out, Donovan is very knowledgeable on all gas appliances and carried out a complete overhaul to my gas fire aswell.
I would not hesitate to recommend DL Gas and Maintenance to anyone.
