Damages Site - Increases Bill - Declines Responsibility

We enlisted this company to do a customisation to our current site. Without doubt this is the worst development company I have come across. Lack of caring and attention to detail appeared to be a common theme. They will not take responsibility and try to palm you off at every opportunity.

We started by providing this company with a mock-up preview of what we were looking for. They confirmed and gave a quote to which we accepted. Upon payment they promptly started the work but failed to carry out any precurtain such as a backup.

Whilst they were playing with the site the site became corrupt meaning what our customers were seeing was garbage. As you can imagine the website is a face of a company so this had the potential of leaving a bad impression. They were contacted and stopped doing the work during peak times, however still failed to ask if they could put the site in maintenance mode or create a cloned site.

They then contact us to inform us that if we want to add comments to orders it will cost us more. This was requested in the original plan, however to prevent further delays I just accepted it. Suddenly the site starts to crash, nothing is displaying properly. The seller claim that this is nothing to do with them. After investigating it turns of it is due to them and they make changes to try and fix this.

Finally, they get a preview to me however this is blotchy, not neat on mobile devices and does not work. I am then informed that it is due to my plugin. They send me the raw files of what they have done and claim that the work is done and that I owe them payment. I refuse to pay as it does not work on the site and I had not paid for the raw files. At this stage the site again keeps crashing putting overload on the server. Again, the seller declines this is a result of the work they did. I contact my hosting provider and they provide proof it is due to them.

This company will provide very low-quality work, add on costs then blame you if it does not work. You would be better using an international developer than these. I am now looking at having to pay someone to fix there damage as well as disputing payments.

So to sum up
- Failed to create backups of site.
- Failed to do the work on a test server.
- Did work on a live site during business house.
- Corrupted data on website.
- Blamed us for their issues.
- Tried to force us to make full payment for failed work.
