I got robbed!

In one of the Lethbridge Dollaramas I mistakenly bought two boxes of pet carpet deodorizer. I meant to by litter box deodorizer. They didn't have any and then one of the staff told me that they don't do exchanges or refunds! What a ripoff! Bunch of crooks is what they are!

Awful situation/with updates

Awful situation, congenial staff, likely overworked, overwhelmed & underpaid from my experience there , so went in there yesterday and bought a $500 Visa gift card with cash that’s $509.35 including tax and got a card that did not work. I went to return the card. They told me that they were not responsible. They did not have to refund or return how on this planet does that make sense this is a big box company one of the fastest growing companies in the country so they are making money handover fist. Why can’t they refund my money?
Sincerely K. Funk
Breaking News', Friday close of buisness still not even a simple thing like returning a reply to the email I sent them the email from the people who have my $500 that is a big box company that make billions a year, Go Figure 😝

I live within walking distance to the…

I live within walking distance to the Dollarama located at Nanaimo North Town Center. Unfortunatly this store is run by a lazy and rude manager. He is always in the back on his phone. Meanwhile customers are lined up
14 deep. He does not come out to help and I have gone back many times to get him. No customer service at all. So going forward I will go elsewhere.

Most dishonest manager and online customer service

Most dishonest local manager Wifred and customer service online, I am not a local and tried to buy a pair sandal shoe ,since there is No exact size of shoe, I needed, plus it has a handle on it, and I thought I can buy 1 pair close to my shoe size, tried it at home, I live by this store, After I bought and tried it on, it hurts my foot and I brought it back to the store within few mins, they told No return and I spoke with manager Wilfred, he said I can write it to online forum then they can make an exception then I can get it return and refund, and I took my time wrote to their online client customer service, and they provided the worse customer service, simply they dont care about their cusomer service at all. It showed that 1. Wilfred made a lies. 2. Customer serivce dont care service, even I told that the shoe is hurting, and dont care about defective shoe. Stay away from Dollarama.

All to save a buck

This location seems to be all back wards. The carts are parked and crowded near the exit. The cashiers booths are congested and most of the staff can barely speak English. I don't know how many times I have to Politely ask the cashiers to put the scented items in one bag and the food in another. They smile and nod and keep packing the bags with everything thrown in. I won't be going back to this location again. Perhaps it would be prudent of them to take a little field trip to the location at Shantz Crossing in Didsbury AB to see how a Dollarama Should be run.

Shortbread Cookies from Biskwi

I went to the Dollarama and purchased Shortbread Fingers made by Biskwi. I won't ever buy these cookies again because they taste awful. They don't even taste like a shortbread cookie. They taste more like cardboard.

Bought a cat/dog carrier …

Bought a cat/dog carrier to keep in the car for emergencies. I wasn't expecting a high quality item because you often "get what you paid for". What I wasn't happy about was the toxic smell coming from the vented side of the carrier. It is not noticeable at purchase because they are folded. They have a no return policy and despite several attempts to contact the store (so they can pull it), they have a system that does not take calls. I will have to make a trip to the store to resolve this. Products should be inspected before selling to the public especially when you can't return it.

DO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD FROM DOLLARAMA…

DO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD FROM DOLLARAMA ....
My wife purchased a $50 gift card from Dollarama as a gift for our adult son. When he went to use the card, it had $0 balance! The store is Dollarama in Royal Oak, Calgary, AB.
We have tried to contact the store Dollarama corporate, and Starbucks, and no one will take responsibility.
Turns out this type of gift card fraud is a multi-million $ problem across North America. People need to be aware. It could be local store staff or organized crime.
Before buying a gift card from any third party seller, make sure you read up on this issue and how to not get burned like we did.

Food is bad

A couple days after i bought this Bowlfull Chicken Flavor in-cup, bowl-style instant noodles, I finally decided to microwave it for myself. I prepped it, microwaved it, and gave it to me. As I started mixing it like I normally do, when I tried to pull the ingredients from the bottom with my fork, I saw a fly in there. It was not floating on top where anyone would have noticed it immediately but buried underneath the noodles the entire time.

I didn't see any fly go into the Bowlfull noodles at any point while preparing the food or before I was about to eat it. I definitely did not see any fly enter the bowl while I was getting ready to eat. Luckily, I did not actually eat the fly or anything that had touched it, which was a huge relief.

Just finding a fly in the food is disgusting enough but the more I think about it the more it worries me. If a fly could slip through the quality checks and end up in the noodles, then what else might have made its way in? Bugs like spiders, roaches, or ticks could be there too. Imagine accidentally eating a tick without realizing it and then later eating red meat only to have a severe allergic reaction because the tick was a lone star tick known to cause that. That could be dangerous not just for people with weak immune systems but even for those with normal or strong immune systems. The risk of serious illness is real and could lead to hospital visits or worse. Beyond that there are also risks of bacterial contamination or viruses that could come from any bugs or other creatures accidentally mixed into food. It is even possible, though rare, that rabies could be transmitted if an infected animal or insect got into the food during manufacturing.

What makes this situation even more unsettling is the possibility that it is not just bugs. There could be small rodents, baby bats, or other animals that accidentally get into factory-packed food during the production process. There have been cases before where animals were found in packaged food items and the thought of that happening with something I was about to eat is extremely disturbing.

I am not planning to file a complaint with the local food safety authority at this moment but I do feel that my parents wasted money on something that should have been safe to consume. This experience has completely shaken my trust in the Bowlfull brand and honestly it has made me lose my appetite for noodles in general, not just this specific brand or flavor. Every time I think about eating noodles now I wonder if there might be something hidden underneath the surface that I would not see until it was too late to avoid.

The whole thing is gross and risky and I feel very lucky that I noticed the fly before I ate anything contaminated. It makes me worry about the safety and cleanliness standards at the factory that produced this product and whether enough quality control measures are actually being followed. It also makes me question how many other people might be unknowingly eating food that contains unwanted or harmful things like bugs or worse.

Overall this experience has left me feeling frustrated and uneasy about something as simple as instant noodles which should be safe and convenient. Instead it has become something I now approach with suspicion and caution.

Dumpster fire

Went to dollarama in sparwood and it was not good. Staff left empty boxes in the aisle nobody could tell me if they had basic camping supplies, manager was rude and condescending. No wonder why they have new staff every 2 weeks I don't recommend it.

On June 4

On June 4, 2025, my son who is disabled tried to buy something from the Dollarama store located in
610 6th St New Westminster BC V3L 3C2
She saw him as disabled. She was condescending and insulting because my son cannot understand how to scan the product he bought. He was with me as I there to teach him how to scan but the woman appeared to show off to all those present and interrupted our transaction. Clearly it was a self-checkout but she has to speak very loud and get the attention of everyone to show that she was in command and my son was scared. He was anxious and started to shake.
